Chapter 1057: Sets.

The whole crowd started cheering loudly after hearing Beatrice’s words, the mages supporting the School of Silent Night were all shouting for the Takedas present to make quick work of her.

Meanwhile, the few fanatic mages still supporting the War God Academy began chanting Beatrice’s name loudly, though they had never seen the new puppet before and weren’t aware of what it was capable of, what they knew however was that no matter the odds against them, they would still support the War God Mage Team to the very end.

It was actually surprising to many of the foreign mages present to see a group still stubbornly supporting a team they believed would soon lose, regardless of what Beatrice had shown.

They were especially surprised because the rest of the Northern academies hadn’t received such treatment, and it was the War God Academy who isn’t even among the northern great 8 academies that was getting such treatments which made many of them start suspecting there must be a lot of foul plays present.

Then, before they could fully process what was happening, both Takedas turned into blurs as they rushed toward Beatrice.

Behind the Wind Takeda was a trailing green glow, while a blue hue followed the Water Takeda, from the way they moved, it was clear they planned to avoid the puppets entirely, as if they weren’t even there , and they were just going to go straight for Beatrice.

“I’ll deal with her, help me keep these three busy,” the Wind Takeda said in the last moment diverting the Water Takeda’s attention as wind particles began gathering near his hands, spiralling until two translucent wind katanas formed in his grip.

Once they formed, he didn’t waste any time, as he pushed off the ground with his left leg, and even as he leapt high, he kept pushing higher with his right.

As he stepped through the air like he was walking casually, wind footprints appeared beneath his feet.

The three puppets acting as the first line of defence all looked toward him. In fact, the flaming mage puppet was just about to act, but as he raised his hand to draw his sword, he suddenly felt something curling tightly around his wrist.

Which caused him to raise his head to clearly see what had restrained him from drawing his blade, that was when he noticed the chain-like weapon wrapped around his hand was connected to the weapon wielded by the Water Takeda.

From the sides, the other two puppets were already closing in on him, trying to restrain him and free the flaming mage puppet, to the Water Takeda they were acting more like a pest to him with the way they were acting together as it always made it hard for him to pick them out one by one.

At the same time, the Wind Takeda was already descending from his high jump, but Patches simply stepped forward slowly, positioning himself in front of Beatrice.

His right hand moved behind his shoulder, smoothly drawing the sword strapped across his back.

In one fluid motion, the Wind Takeda spun mid-air, before twisting his dual katanas into a scissoring strike, but the puppet merely raised its sword and blocked the attack.

A loud clang rang out on impact, as a shockwave rippled across the arena floor, with dust lifting in a circular wave around them. Immediately, Takeda opened his mouth to cast a spell, but his mental senses suddenly caught something.

Instinctively, he raised his leg high to block in mid-air.

Bang!

He felt the bones in his leg creak as if they were about to snap upon impact, being an expert, he quickly used his ninjutsu to divert most of the force, and then used the remaining momentum to propel himself upward.

He drifted back down like he was guided by a gentle breeze, somersaulting once before landing lightly on the ground, when he looked up at the puppet again, the casual expression he usually wore was gone.

A throbbing pain pulsed through his left leg, the one he had used to block the punch, which had clearly come from the orc arm stitched onto Patches.

He studied the puppet carefully, even at this distance, he still couldn’t accurately determine its realm.

Meanwhile, the Water Takeda had already pulled back slightly, realizing it was becoming difficult to handle all three puppets at once.

“Wind, I don’t think I’ll be able to handle all three of them like this for long while fighting with a handicap,” the Water Takeda said.

That made the Wind Takeda pause in thought, he had been the one who proposed the three-versus-three fight, but the Earth Takeda still hadn’t gotten back up after his last bout against lucas, which has made him effectively useless since then.

He knew he needed a third fighter to gain a real advantage against Beatrice, yet his pride wouldn’t allow him to summon another Takeda through the wind gate after he had greatly underestimated the war god mages.

As he felt calling one of the remaining two Takedas would feel like admitting weakness, after a moment of thought, he decided it was better to let the Water Takeda go all out instead.

“Do it!” the Wind Takeda said, stepping forward again and swinging his wind-forged blades at Patches, the puppet’s sword movements looked slightly slower than his, yet somehow every strike was still blocked with precise timing.

Meanwhile, the Water Takeda smiled faintly, clearly pleased, he already knew that when the three Tier-6 puppets worked together, gaining an advantage was difficult. Now that he had permission, he pushed off the stage and retreated several steps away from them.

As he moved back, runic tattoos began spreading across his body and ninja attire. Within seconds, parts of the outfit turned a deep icy blue.

His mask shifted colour as well, and even his weapon seemed wrapped in a new energy layer, subtly altering its form.

Frosty air began to seep from his hands, and cold vapour escaped through the tiny openings of his mask, when he lifted his gaze toward the three puppets again, he was now clad in what clearly looked like a Tier-6 spirit equipment set crafted specifically to complement his abilities.

The spectators reacted immediately.

Until now, the Takedas had only fought in their standard ninja uniforms — the official attire of their institution, It also seemed to be inscribed with a Tier-5 protection rune. But now the spectators were realising that apart from possessing that seemingly cheat level special ability, Takeda also seems to have the power to equip every one of those bodies with spirit equipment sets.

And not just any spirit equipment, but likely equipment sets that were perfectly tailored to their individual abilities, the thought alone made many in the crowd shift their gaze toward the Wind Takeda, waiting to see if he would reveal something similar, however he didn’t.

Instead, it was the Water Takeda , who had been fighting defensively up until now, changed in his presence completely, like a whole new person.

The moment his spirit equipment set completely manifested, he dashed forward, abandoning caution as he charged straight at the three puppets.
