Chapter 1108: Final Battle: Origin 3.

The axe spun through the air at incredible speed, its flames trailing behind it. After the shock paralysis he had suffered from Butcher’s lightning earlier, Takeda had made it his priority to eliminate him by any means necessary.

But at that exact moment, the Spider Queen, who wasn’t far off, pulled her hands sharply backward, threads that had been hidden in the air, camouflaged almost perfectly, suddenly revealed themselves.

Before Takeda could fully grasp what was happening—His body was already bound, and from multiple angles, as webs snapped tight around his arms and legs, restricting his movement.

For a brief moment, disbelief flickered across his face, ‘as to how a mere Tier 6 golem could restrain him?’

Then he looked around, and noticed the smaller spiders, they were acting as some kind of anchors for the Hive queen, channeling their collective strength through the webbing, the Hive Queen wasn’t doing it alone, she was pooling their power, amplifying her control and making the restraint far stronger than it should have been, while the others have been fighting in mid air this is what she had been doing.

Understanding this, Takeda prepared to break free and eliminate them—But Butcher was already upon him again, with a brutal downward swing, the thunder axe came crashing down, aiming to split him in half from head to toe.

At the last instant, Takeda tilted his head perfectly—And let the axe pass near his shoulder, so instead of cleaving him in two, the strike severed his arm cleanly at the shoulder.

Pain shot through him instantly, and he grimaced—But his plan had already been set in motion, as he had already used the fingers of the severed arm to formed a ninjutsu sign.

Before their eyes, the detached arm dissolved into dark smoke, causing the katana it had held to fall to the ground.

The smoke then drifted—And reformed back onto his body, reconstructing the arm as if nothing had happened, even Butcher was momentarily caught off guard for a split second, and that was all Takeda needed to strike.

In one swift motion, he drove his index and middle fingers forward, striking multiple points across Butcher’s body, it was as if he wasn’t affected by the fact that his hand had to pass through the protective thunder and wind fog surrounding Butcher’s body, until it finally touched the dark stone that truly formed Butcher’s body.

After jabbing at various points of Butcher’s body with incredible speed, he slammed his open palm against its chest and cast a spell.

The moment the spell activated, Takeda’s eyes turned a malevolent purple-black, while his hand seemed to merge with shadowy forms as it plunged into Butcher’s chest without resistance, as it phased straight through Butcher’s stony body.

Seeing this, the Hive Queen exerted even more force on the strings that still connected to the rest of his body, but despite the webs threatening to tear him apart the rest of his body, Takeda seemed unconcerned by the pain.

He did not stop until he was sure he had found the right thing and then he yanked it free out of Butcher’s chest, as he ended up falling to his knees, in Takeda hand was a large power core, its true form obscured by dark wind, with smaller specks of lightning coursing through it.

Without a trace of hesitation or remorse, Takeda clenched down and crushed it into pieces.

Before the eyes of the ever-fanatical Northern crowd, they witnessed the first death of Alec’s golems as Butcher’s body simply broke apart, the stones rolling down to the ground like a heap of rubble.

“Noooo!”

Oni shouted and dashed forward, forgetting all formation as he closed the distance and swung his weapons wildly. In response, Takeda stretched out his right hand, and the katana lodged in the ground flew back into his grasp.

He immediately began to swing, deflecting and countering with rapid slashes in order to seize the advantage; after only three exchanges, he had already restrained Oni.

His first move had been a diagonal upward slash, which knocked Oni’s scythe aside and threw his entire right side into disarray, clearly, Takeda’s Tier 8 strength was not something Oni was supposed to challenge head-on.

But Oni seemed unwilling to let things end there, so he did the next best thing he could think of, he drew another, longer shadow blade from one of his left hands.

In response Takeda shifted his stance, extending his right leg outward as a small wall of earth rose from the ground to intercept the strike, a loud clang rang out as the shadow blade slammed against the reinforced black earth Takeda had erected before him.

“Mixing shadow and earth makes the already troublesome earth element even harder to deal with, so what would you say to adding flame and wind together?” Takeda said casually as he raised his sword high into the air, the blade now coated with both wind and flame energy, even from where Alec stood he could tell that attack was dangerous enough to threaten even him.

“Yeah, that’s it. Hive Queen, help him out,” Alec said as he partially transformed into his werewolf form while still gripping his blood blade, at his command, the Hive Queen twitched her fingers in the air as though she were pressing an invisible keyboard.

A moment later, she pulled back, and several of her strings became visible, which went all the way toward Oni’s back. Immediately the strings connected she yanked just before Takeda’s right hand could come down.

Sling!

Though she did succeed in pulling Oni away, but not before he lost part of himself.

The combined flames and wind created a far more destructive attack, though it was not a variant ability, but the fusion of two elements gave Takeda’s strike the effects of one, a wind blade, which was now completely wrapped in flame, streaked through the air.

As the wind propelled it faster, feeding the fire and making the entire attack blaze even more violently, in the blink of an eye, just before Oni was fully dragged away, two out of his left-side arms were severed.

The blade had cut diagonally closer into his core part, leaving no doubt, as the crowd realized that Takeda was not only fully capable of identifying where the core was within the golems body, but he was also powerful enough to cut straight through their reinforced forms and pose a real threat.

Still, he had to watch as Oni’s body was pulled away, leaving him with a brief opening to focus on the rest of his trapped body, with Hive Queen concentrating her strings on Oni, the pressure on him eased slightly.

Since the spiders around him had lost some of their mother’s support, the bindings around his body loosened, he raised his hand sending his katana into the air before unleashing a series of energy beams toward the spiders positioned across the battlefield.

By the time he was done, the strings that had once wrapped around his body had all fallen away, allowing him to stretch freely again without fear of them cutting deeper into him, he then stretched his hand to receive the sword that came back down to his hands.

He glanced down at the bloody lines across his body, they were already healing, but even so, he had to admit Alec’s golems were far more dangerous than he had expected, then he lifted his head and saw Alec standing ahead, flanked by his remaining two golems with a little space between them.

But that was not what caught his attention first, Alec Gordons no longer looked shorter than him, in fact, it almost seemed as though he was standing slightly taller now. And then there were the claws.

His eyes, too, had shifted into something strange, a mixture of light blue and blood red, with the red seeming to cloak the blue beneath it.

“Sorry for keeping you waiting this long. Let’s end this,” Alec said.

“Well, you just said what I was thinking.” Takeda said as he brought his sword down and stretched out his left hand to the side, summoning his axe before dashing straight toward Alec’s group after it returned to his grasp.

Seeing this, Legion and Titan moved out too in order to meet him in the middle.
