It had not even been up to a day since the lords returned from the Blood Moon region, yet they soon began seeing the light of conquest.
From their kingdoms, they first saw a red beam of light shoot straight into the sky, showing that a city in that direction had been defeated and that its lord token was being assimilated into another city’s heart.
And judging by the intensity of the red beam shooting into the sky, they were all able to tell that the conquered city was at least a Level 2 city.
Just as they were wondering who had the power to lay waste to a Level 2 city right after returning from the Blood Moon region battle, another conquest light shone again.
This time, it came from a completely opposite direction, the lords of the Wilderness region were all losing their minds, wondering just what was going on for such a feat to happen within the span of only a few hours.
They were still contemplating who had enough strength to devour a Level 2 city, because that would mean the person’s power would only grow stronger after assimilating such a city. Yet not long after that, another city fell.
Immediately, many of the lords who were still in the dark began increasing their security. Some even stationed hundreds of guards inside their throne rooms in case an assassin was able to bypass all security and make a move to steal their lord tokens directly, as they were also thinking this might be the case with the two cities that have been conquered.
But just then, a few of them started receiving information about the first kingdom that had fallen, the one closest to them, and soon, they all learned that the Tier 6 lord that they had been eyeing up to attack was the one who had destroyed a Tier 7 lord’s city.
That realization drenched many of them in a cold wave of shock, they immediately began imagining what would have happened if they had been the ones to make the first move against the Tier 6 mage territory instead. ‘Would this have been their fate too?’
At once, many of them began to have a change of heart, they finally realized that although the man was only a Tier 6 lord, he was far more dangerous than some old Tier 7 lords who had been in the Wilderness for a very long time.
Just like that, a few of them decided to send gifts and well wishes to their faraway neighbor, it was their way of showing goodwill, and also their way of hoping that his human spirit(like the human lords not attacking each other but the other races as lord of the same races are meant to help themselves) was still strong enough and he would not go around becoming interested in attacking them all without reason.
They truly wanted to believe that this new human lord of the Wilderness region had only been forced to attack because his hand had been forced first by the human lord who had sent units to sneak into his kingdom while he was away in the Blood Moon region.
Though many of them cursed that move as despicable, the truth was that many of them had suffered the same thing in the past when they had first arrived in the Wilderness region. Back then, the older lords had allowed them to grow for a few months, only to rob them blind the moment they entered the Blood Moon region.
And in truth, many of them had been waiting for Alec’s territory to grow richer as well, like hunters waiting for a lamb to grow fatter before skinning it, the only fortunate thing for them was that one reckless rookie had grown impatient and decided to attack ahead of time, which had allowed them to see just how truly dangerous Alec was.
Because the more they read the report sent to them, and saw that only a few squads had been dispatched, the colder their blood became( they assumed the summoned minions were all part of a knight squad).
However, before long, someone added all the nearby lords into a group chat and asked them to check the area where the second conquered city was located.
Only then did they summon their map layouts using their City Hearts. But soon, they realized that the second city that had been conquered was actually the city once inhabited by the orcs.
At that moment, they were truly stunned, because they realised the previous orc city is close to the one they are reevaluating now.
Because they were sure that the eight cities in that direction had been said to belong to the Tier 6 human lord they were planning to send gifts to, now when they put two and two together, even without anyone telling them, they were already able to tell that this new lord of the Wilderness region was clearly the one who had taken out the orcs too and expanded his territory again.
After all, on the map, they could see just how wide his territory seems to have become.
Immediately, even those who had decided to remain neutral dropped that idea and started planning to send gifts to him as well.

Meanwhile, in his throne room, Alec had just finished placing the two new lord tokens into his City Heart, as his City Heart absorbed the exact energy it needed and made a slight change to the tokens, like shrinking them.
The moment those regions became his, Alec called out the layout of his land and began creating another series of long stone walls, stretching them out until they covered the two new cities and eventually connected them to his original 8 territory. As of now, he had a cluster of ten cities, with three more developed than the rest.
However, despite the other two cities he had just absorbed being Level 2 cities, they still could not compare to the beauty of Alec’s main city.
The residential area was already in full-blown development mode since the people had moved in, people who once lived in roughly built houses without decorations or proper structure now had mansions or two-story buildings.
Seeing it now gave Alec the feeling that he was staring at a small but properly developed city. As for the builders, he currently had five builder teams.
After the residential area was completed, he reshaped his priorities. Now, only two builder teams were working on his main city, creating solar-powered city lights and developing the roads, as Alec was also planning to have his production team work on cars and televisions in the future.
The remaining three teams were assigned outside his city. One team was still working on Arthur’s territory, though they would soon be done.
Another team was creating a road that would lead straight to all the cities, these group had the longest project time, while the last group had been assigned to Beatrice’s city.
With all of this set up, Alec was now ready to face the other problems weighing on his mind. One of them just happened to be finding a way to go back to the Five Kingdom Continent so he could move his family.
He still had no idea how their situation had progressed since he left, which was exactly why he was so worried. After all, his clan had literally annihilated the City Lord, wiped out his forces, annexed the City Hall army, and taken temporary command of the City Hall.
If all of this was not properly investigated, the royal clan might try to punish his clan instead, and knowing the petty king’s feelings about him, he likely believed that things wouldn’t go that well for his clan, as the royal family would try to pressure them.
While Alec was trying to send a message through the kingdom channel to figure if anyone had any idea, he suddenly realized that there was already another presence with him in the hall.
His body trembled slightly because he had not even noticed when the person entered. If not for the fact that the person had deliberately made his presence known, Alec would have remained completely in the dark.
A sharp ringing sound echoed as Connar, who stood behind him, began to draw his blade, but Alec raised his hand and stopped him before the sword could fully leave its sheath, because he already knew who had appeared.
“Old man, we meet again. I have a lot of questions I want to ask you,” Alec said immediately.
