Chapter 1169: Saint, Destructive Swordman.

Unlike Hunter, who was interested in surprising the invading army, Saint had no such interest. And yes, he had sent one of his summoned golems back to ask for reinforcements.

However, it was not his top captain that he sent. On the contrary, the one he sent just happened to be his weakest captain, though they were not the acting lords of the castle, but just like every acting lord, they were still able to still check the surroundings of the city borders or inside the city with the help of the main city’s Ai.

And since all cities under Alec were all connected to the main city, city heart, it also meant that the main city’s AI could take control to pass messages or even handle other things, it just retrain from such things, i was only doing so in this case because the city in question has no acting lord.

It acts almost like how the king of the Wilderness could interfere and spy on his subordinates through the City Heart, but on a much larger scale.

And it was the major reason the king of the wilderness region was unable to spy into Alec’s City Heart, as it was its own entity only loyal to Alec. However, the king Alexander did not think too much about it and simply believed that Alec was using some kind of device to hide his main information, just like how he believed Alec had hidden his true potential from the testing machine when they wanted to read his potential not that he mind though, the fact that Alec still showed under him as one of his lords was enough for him.

And the only reason he thought that way was because he would never think not to talk of believing that a human lord could have the same access as a King-rank powerhouse.

He would rather believe that there was another world filled with evil doubles of themselves than believe Alec possessed the authority of a king and was fully controlling his City Heart as a separate entity with access to way more things than even he could get his hands on.

It was not simply that Alec was able to obscure him from gazing into his actions and figuring out what he was doing.

So, the main city’s AI had been the one to summon a layout and screen, showing both Hunter’s and Saint’s views of the invading armies silently approaching with the system points that Alec had deposited down for emergencies.

The AI was able to see everything surrounding every city under Alec’s territory, which was why it had been able to discover them on time.

“Open the gates!” Saint said, dragging a massive claymore behind him which made some disturbing noise as his steel scratch against the granite ground, after the gates were opened, across him, not too far away, was an army of a thousand warriors led by Daniel, with the other Tier 7 city lord acting more like an assistant.

At first, Daniel was shocked by the fact that the gates had been opened for them while they were still approaching with intentions to invade, but after looking around constantly and seeing only nine figures standing around, his mind finally settled.

He took his time to observe the golem at the center.

Saint.

His left hand was still gripping on the massive claymore hilt, while his right hand held a long broadsword that he placed across his shoulder.

“State your business for approaching my master’s domain at this ungodly hour. Are you Friend or Foe? And think wisely before you lie,” Saint said, his eyes shining brightly with blue light.

Daniel couldn’t help thinking deeply about the words of the golem before him, but then again, he felt the information they had received was correct.

They had received information from a certain person about the behavior of the golems under the human lord they were coming to attack. Saying how they were completely arrogant, believing they had no equal.

However, after observing the golem before him in a lower realm than him countless times and reminiscing on the way it spoke to him, along with the lesser golems beside it that were giving off Tier 6 auras, Daniel was able to come to a conclusion.

This golem was not among the ones they had been warned to look out for, he then smirked, believing that conquering the city had just become much easier.

He believed that as long as he took out the leading golem before him, the city would be occupied by them, though they would not be able to fully control it since it was only a subordinate city, yet they could still use it as a base to press further into Alec’s domain.

“You. How dare a measly construct of magic question me? Kill that idiot for me,” Daniel said as he pointed forward, and instantly three individuals giving off Tier 7 auras stepped forward.

They were clearly the leaders, the heroes of his army, each one looked quite unique, with their weapons covered in elemental Qi.

They dashed forward, but this only made Saint smile as he rushed to meet them.

“Your order just proves one thing. You are no friend. I don’t know why or what prompted you to make this move against my master, but I thank you for it as it allows me to participate in battle. I clearly don’t care if I die in the pursuit of battle. Just having an excuse to fight makes my whole being pleased,” Saint said as he dashed forward.

He covered a short distance at a terrifying speed before anyone could even properly notice, it was almost as if he was shuttling through space.

His speed did not create the normal blur-like movement. Instead, it looked more like his body had glitched, and in the next second, he was already fifty meters ahead.

That was what his movement looked like.

Swoosh!

The next moment, the hero units saw a massive sword flying toward them, he had thrown it to catch them off guard.

Immediately, the one in the middle raised his sword to the side, with the tip facing down and both hands gripping the handle, after much struggle, he was finally able to deflect the blade behind him.

However, the only thing he managed to do was send it flying straight toward his master, who stood behind him.

The moment the sword was deflected backward, Saint’s lips curled up slightly as he activated the spell he had been waiting to cast all along, and before their eyes, they watched Saint switch places with his sword.

The sword that was already heading for Daniel vanished from existence, and Saint appeared in its place.

Meanwhile, the sword appeared before the man who had just deflected it earlier in the same space Saint had been standing moments before, and it had not lost any speed at all, as it blasted forward just like it had done before.

However, this time, the hero was neither in the right place nor in the right position to deflect it again, as his hand was still numb from his first attempt, at the last moment, he was only able to move his neck out of the way, hoping he had reacted fast enough to escape the reach of the blade.

But he was still unfortunate, he had not fully escaped its range, and a long gash was cut into his neck, causing blood to spurt out while the blade continued on its path.

On Saint’s side, he had not even hesitated to cut down.

However, Daniel, who had finally recovered from the shock of the teleportation trick, moved the other city lord from the side to being in front of him, despite him not being the initial target Saint didn’t still hesitate as his sword cut through the man like a knife going through butter.

“Ehhn, what a drag,” Saint said as he finally got a read on the mage before him and realized that he was a Tier 8 lifeform.

However, he was not discouraged or scared, he only believed that getting rid of his opponent would be much harder now.

“Return,” Saint said again, this time, he swapped positions with his sword once more.
