Chapter 1170: The False Victory.

This chapter is updated by JustRead.pl

His time after the teleportation Saint appeared just a few feet behind the hero that was in the middle, who just had his neck grazed by his sword, it was the exact location that his Broadsword had been a moment ago, exactly at that time the Tier 7 warrior was turning his neck slowly.

However, the moment he turned, he was met with Saint’s sword plunging deep into his neck, the tip of Claymore blade pierced through even the hands he had used to cover his grazed wound, eased through his neck, and came out from the other side.

The warrior stared at Saint with shock written all over his face, his death had come so easily that, in his final moments, he could not help but wonder if they were truly both Tier 7 lifeforms.

The other two who had dashed out with him finally noticed that he was under attack and tried to turn around to attack Saint, but then they also felt a deep soul pain invading them, which prompted them to look down, only to realize that a blade had pierced out from each of their chests.

Courtesy of the Saint’s Captain rank Golems that have been waiting for a chance to take action, and they didn’t hesitate to sneak attack when they got it.

At the same time, Saint and his two other captain-rank golems pulled their swords out from the bodies they had pierced, and all three corpses fell to the ground at once with a heavy thud, as if they had practiced it over and over again.

Saint simply turned back and raised his left hand, and the sword that switched position with him to head towards Daniel , which Daniel had swatted into the air, was suddenly sucked back into his grip as if pulled by some invisible force, the speed at which the sword had returned back to him was so fast, however he had received it unmoving like such force was completely normal.

In just one move played by Golems, four of their top fighters had been killed, and if not for Daniel acting fast, he believed even he would have suffered a serious injury from that surprise teleportation move.

And it was exactly at this moment that he started to frown, silently cursing the fact that the information they had received was far too unreliable.

They had heard of an ice golem, a metal golem that used weird weapons, and even lightning golems. Because of that, he had purchased multiple elemental talismans that should have restrained their powers.

However, the golem before him had not even been on the list, and he was already causing them serious problems, it made Daniel think of a friend who had warned him against going against the new lord.

Though he had acted arrogant then, claiming that he was not scared of what Alec could do, however that same fear for the unknown mystery behind Alec he had lied about not feeling was the only reason he and his brothers tried to get other lords to join their cause.

As they did not want to attack Alec alone, even if it was two lords against one.

However, even with all the preparations they had made, there seemed to be many unpredictable elements they had not planned for, and one of such elements was now smiling at him with two different swords in hand, both requiring two completely different styles of fighting.

#Back to the city that Hunter was watching.

Dave’s warriors were able to climb the city wall without any problems at all, and it got him wondering if something was wrong, though he knew they were good, he had at least expected the guards to catch one of them, but nothing of the sort happened.

After climbing the walls, the first batch of warriors moved around with stealth, trying their best not to make a sound as they approached the golems on duty from behind.

Then, in one smooth motion, they all swung their blades, beheading the golems as their bodies fell to the ground, showing signs of losing all life energy.

With the invasion proceeding so smoothly, Dave could not help but smile, believing that Alec must have grown arrogant after capturing the city.

‘He must have thought that his victory would be enough to deter the other human lords from attacking him so soon.’Dave thought

This was the only reasonable explanation Dave could come up with for why Alec’s new city had such loose defenses.

The few warriors who had scaled the tall city wall and took down the five guards finally came down on the other side and unlocked the gates, giving way for the rest of the army to enter without stress.

They did not even halt at all, they made their way straight toward the castle at the heart of the city, with the two human lords who had followed Dave not able to help letting their imaginations run wild.

They, too, like the twins, had been scared of the repercussions that might come from attacking the new lord, as they all saw Alec as a scary one after they realized he took care of the Orc city.

However, now that they had invaded the first city without even losing a single soldier, it was as if they had been injected with a confidence booster, they started believing that taking out the rest of the city would not be that hard.

And finally, they reached the castle.

Dave had most of the soldiers spread out wide around the castle as he didn’t want anyone or anything escaping, while he, the other two Tier 7 lords, and his general summons entered the throne room (as from now I would call the heroes of the other human lords commander or general).

Instantly, their eyes met the cold, dark-blue gaze of Hunter, whose right hand rested on the sword he had pierced into the ground before him.

After seeing him, the first thing Dave did was spread out his mental senses, trying to figure out which realm the golem before him was in, since he did not want to enter a situation he would not be able to control later.

After his mental sense passed over Hunter and he confirmed that he was only a Tier 7 golem, he calmed down slightly.

“It’s just a Tier 7 golem. Let’s kill it and take full control of the city. I guess it’s even good that the city didn’t riot. We took control of the place so smoothly,” Dave said to the other two lords beside him, however as of that moment another voice rang out in the hall.

“Close the gates,” Hunter said, his metallic voice ringing out.

At that moment, they all looked at him in confusion, unable to understand what he was talking about.

“Who the hell are you—”

But before Dave could complete his sentence, Hunter raised his hooked left hand, his gesture seeming to say, “Hold up.”

Meanwhile, on top of the city wall, the golems that had had their heads cleaved off earlier suddenly stood back up after Hunter’s order and plunged their blades into the bodies of the few warriors who had been left to watch the gates.

There were about thirty warriors left to guard the city walls after the main army marched toward the castle area. However, since it was the warrior units of the other two lords who had been left behind, that meant they were only between Tier 1 and Tier 3 in realm.

And to such warriors, Hunter’s minion golems, who were in the Tier 6 realm, were no different from executioners, which means wiping out a hundred Tier 3 mages/warriors would not even be a problem for each of them if they were serious, let alone a mere thirty all together.

The warriors did not last in the slightest, they were swiftly taken care of by the slick sword and shield skill mastery of the headless golems, and the next thing the golems did was move toward their own severed heads, pick them up, and place them back on top of their hybrid stone-metal bodies, as the heads locked back into place as if they had never been removed, the reason for this was that, in the first place, they did not have any physical bodies underneath the metal armor.

Literally, the armor was their body.

They were much like chainmail armor placed on display, only they were hybrid constructs with clay mixed into their build, and they have also been given life.

Hunter had simply decided to exploit that fact and ordered them to play dead, because he believed no one would be able to know to attack their cores in order to truly kill them, even if they tried his golems were expert at moving their cores around their cold iron body.

After getting their heads, they moved down, reversed the mechanism and locked the gate before taking defensive positions, it was clear what they were doing now from their actions.

They had locked the members of the army inside the city, and they would do everything to make sure the path that could lead to retreat remained sealed.
