Chapter 1191: Ice Lord & Sword Lord [2].

Alec had no doubt that his golems would successfully handle the ongoing battle back at his city, having witnessed the strength of the Orc army and their realm, his decision to dispatch Vermis and Oni wasn’t for them to merely join the fray, but to reinforce his lines and bring the conflict to a swift conclusion.

In fact, he was confident that Titan and Saint would already be nearing the end of their own fight before the reinforcements even arrived.

As for Alec himself, he was on his way to teach a certain group of human lords a lesson, although the Wilderness King had explicitly warned him against killing any human lords under his banner, Alec refused to sit back idly and remain on the defensive every time an enemy struck.

To him, the situation was clear-cut: there was only one inevitable outcome for those who dared oppose him, and that was death.

After putting enough distance between himself and the city, he paused, and with a quick flicker of his left hand, he swiftly formed a hand sign.

[> Low Bloodline Skill - Summon - Gold Wyvern <]

The moment Alec invoked the skill, Zenith—the newly evolved Wyvern which resided on his lower back as a tattoo leaped forth.

In a heartbeat, the flat ink transformed into a magnificent creature of flesh and blood, this was the very same beast soul that had once been an ordinary Iron Horn Drake.

Even Alec hadn’t expected such a drastic change for it when it was breaking through the high ranks, unlike Midnight, his wolf beast soul that had only evolved simply because he devoured the souls of Light attributed Wolves, Zenith’s evolution occurred because its bloodline power had completely surpassed that of a standard drake.

The secret lay in its diet. Zenith had been constantly devouring the souls of other Iron Horn Drakes, and because drakes possess a minuscule trace of dragon blood, the system had been stepping in to filter those consumed souls, extracting and concentrating every tiny drop of that ancient draconic essence.

And when it was finally time to break through to the High-rank realm, this concentrated bloodline triggered a full-scale evolution, which was why Alec hadn’t been able to call upon Zenith in a while, as it was undergoing an evolution.

Seeing the beast now, Alec was genuinely amazed. Zenith hadn’t become a true dragon just yet, but its evolutionary path was now crystal clear.

If it continued to hunt and devour demonic beasts with dragon bloodlines, it would eventually achieve a complete draconic transformation, this was a massive breakthrough.

Normal high-rank Iron Horn Drakes were bound by a strict realm limit, seemingly incapable of ever surpassing Tier 7.

It was a restriction known as a bloodline limit, only the most exceptional drakes ever managed to break that threshold and enter the Tier 8 realm, but even then, that was their absolute peak.

Zenith, however, faced no such barrier, as a Wyvern, it possessed the potential to grow all the way to the peak of the Tier 9 realm.

Alec had just learned about this phenomenon; even his bat beast soul had a Tier 7 bloodline limit, only Midnight possessed a limit that extended beyond the standard Tier realms.

The moment Zenith appeared, it spread its massive wingspan, its clawed hands fused to the wing joints in a bat-like structure, and it unleashed a deafening roar into the skies.

Chuckling, Alec raised his hand, prompting the soul beast to lower its massive head so he could pat its snout.

"I know, I know!" Alec said, smoothly consoling the beast as it seemingly complained about not being summoned as often as the others.

"I’ll try to bring you out more, but right now we don’t have time. I need your super speed."

He leaped onto Zenith’s back and gave it another pat, a confirmation that he was securely seated, with a single, powerful sweep of its wings, a booming shockwave rang out, blasting the air around them.

The massive, dragon-like beast took to the skies and tore through the air, uttering strange cries, its speed surpassed anything Alec had ever seen.

The Orc commander was quick to realize that its opponents were three golems: the two Tier 7 golems it was already wary of, and a Tier 6 ice golem wielding double shields—one incredibly large, and the other much smaller.

To the Orc commander, the fact that a Tier 6 was charging directly at him felt like an absolute insult, and since this particular golem was leading the frontal assault, he decided to teach it a lesson.

As Bulwark closed the distance, he raised his massive shield with his left hand, while Saint and Titan flanked the enemy from the sides.

The Orc commander simply swung the axe in his right hand straight toward him, seeing the incoming blow, Bulwark’s eyes trembled, and he quickly brought his shield up to protect his head.

He braced himself for the impact.

Boom!!!

The axe slammed into him, sending him flying a great distance, his left hand creaked painfully, feeling as if it were about to break off, but he ignored the pain.

Instead, his gaze was fixed on the axe, which had ricocheted off his shield and was now flying back toward the Orc’s outstretched hand.

In that critical moment, he whipped his right arm forward, causing the horizontal shield, which had been resting above his hand like a protective guard, to be launched outward by the sheer force of his motion.

Clang!

The smaller shield intercepted the returning axe mid-air, successfully knocking it off course just before it could reach its master’s grasp.

“This little...!” the Orc commander spat, a curse escaping his lips as he realized he was now down to a single weapon while facing two formidable foes.

In a split second, he made a tactical choice.

He would use his remaining weapon to parry Titan’s assault while bracing his own body to absorb Saint’s strike. To him, Titan represented the far greater threat between the two.

The commander flooded his kukri blade with an immense amount of Qi, the energy extended so far beyond the metal that the short blade began to take on the imposing silhouette of a greatsword.

He knew he had no choice; when facing the crushing weight of a heavy-hitter’s mace, a standard short blade would never hold its ground in a defensive clash.

Simultaneously, he coated his entire frame in a shimmering layer of light Qi armor.

Bang!

Exerting every ounce of his strength, he managed to halt Titan’s overhead mace strike, a devastating blow executed from a leap and slammed down from the air.
