"Here."The Fourth Consciousness sent a soul sphere toward the sapling's domain, then let out a long sigh and glanced to the side.
"Hm? What are you two doing?" he asked with mild curiosity. "Do you have new orders from the Original Consciousness?"
Not far away, the Second and Third Consciousnesses were sitting opposite one another, both crouched low, carefully drawing something together on the ground. Lines, symbols, and rough diagrams slowly formed between them.
"Come on, come on," the Third Consciousness muttered, scratching his head with the tree branch he was using as a writing tool before leaning back in to assist the Second once more.
"Hmmm?"
The Fourth Consciousness walked over and squatted beside them, studying their work in silence. His expression shifted from confusion... to realization... and then-
"Pff-ahahahaha!"
His laughter rang out loud and unrestrained.
Whoosh.
Robin's soul incarnation received the soul sphere midair. He examined it carefully, his expression changing almost imperceptibly, before passing it to Timari with a broad, unmistakably satisfied smile.
"The bride of tonight has arrived, it seems."
"Huh?!"
Timari accepted the soul sphere with visible apprehension. The moment she opened it, the sphere unraveled into a vast sky of glowing runes and endlessly interwoven patterns, filling her vision.
This is the bride?
Then what were the previous ones supposed to be?!
She struggled to process what she was seeing, her thoughts racing as her eyes slowly widened in disbelief.
Time...
Shaping...
Energy...
Soul...
And then-a fifth, obscure and elusive law, faint yet absolute, binding all of them together into a single, terrifyingly coherent whole.
"Impossible... this is impossible..."
After a long, meticulous inspection, Timari suddenly cried out, her voice trembling.
"Is this actually feasible?" She pointed at the glowing patterns. "Is this merely a theoretical construct, or has it truly been tested?!"
What Robin had handed over was nothing less than a method to heal a partially -or even completely destroyed energy gathering center.
Any injury to the energy convergence core that resulted in partial destruction -whether fractured foundations or cracked internal walls- meant total paralysis and absolute incapacitation. A blow powerful enough to collapse the core's foundations outright would inevitably lead to death: within hours, days, or at most years, even if the victim received the finest medical care imaginable.
No.
There had never been a cure for damage to the energy gathering center.
There was no method to restore collapsed foundations.
No technique to reconstruct what had been annihilated.
Even the Behemoths themselves possessed no such treatment.
The best known solution was crude and deeply flawed: gather several healers and force them to pour their own energy into patching the gaps and fractures within the damaged foundations. Yet foreign energy inevitably corrupted the original structure and patterns. At best, the victim would regain limited mobility. In rare cases, if the injury was minor, they might even return to battle -but their strength would be but a shadow of what it once was.
Their future would already be sealed.
"This array represents a second chance," Robin said calmly, his tone grave and unwavering.
"A single-use, compact array that will be sold inside a light disc. That disc will contain all the resources required for activation. And yes-this array has been tested. It functions exactly as intended, under my personal guarantee."
"When activated, the array manifests two circles," he continued.
"One circle houses the injured individual. The second circle is for a person willing to sacrifice their own foundations to save them."
"...Upon activation, the foundations of the one making the sacrifice are gently dismantled-without causing lasting harm. That liberated energy is then transferred to the injured individual, filling every gap within their damaged
core."
"Even if the injured party has lost thirty foundations out of forty, all of them will be fully restored-as long as the energy gathering center still remembers the number and dimensions of its original foundations. Any damage to the walls will be repaired as well, completely and cleanly."
Robin had used the very same principle he once employed to repair Jabba's shattered walls.
Balance.
However, he chose to use another person as the energy source, because the sheer amount of Pearls that would otherwise be required would be astronomical, and even then would fail to generate a current powerful enough to sustain the process. In addition to that, he applied Shaping to rebuild the injured person's foundations directly-something that had not been possible in Jabba's case, as he had not possessed foundations to begin with.
In truth, every component needed for this procedure already existed within his vast library; all he had done was connect those elements together into a single, coherent array.
"... By the time the process reaches that stage, the injured individual will be restored to the exact condition they were in prior to the injury. If they originally possessed forty foundations, then all forty will be fully restored. The person placed on the opposite side of the array will lose the same number of foundations or slightly more- but they will lose them in a controlled, healthy manner that causes no shock and does not cripple their future. With time and proper training, they will be able to rebuild and recover those foundations." Through countless cycles of losing foundations and rebuilding them again, Robin had, without exaggeration, become the greatest authority in the entire universe on this subject.
"This is... unbelievable," Timari murmured quietly. "But the newly reconstructed foundations will lack the original patterns, won't they? That would significantly reduce the array's value-yet even so, it remains nothing short of miraculous."
The potential sales figures for such an array would reach heights beyond
imagination.
"I'm not finished yet," Robin said calmly, raising a finger. "Once the first phase is complete, the second phase will immediately begin. During this phase, the array will systematically erase any old, shattered patterns, as well as any newly transferred or distorted ones, and then proceed to reconstruct patterns that are perfectly identical to those stored within the soul domain." "With this process completed, the injured person will regain an exact replica of their foundations and patterns as they were before the injury-as though the damage had never occurred in the first place. Once this task is complete, the array will automatically erase itself."
"......?"
Timari narrowed her eyes slightly as she stared at Robin, disbelief flickering across her expression.
"You're... you're not joking, are you?" One corner of Timari's mouth began to
tremble. "You- I mean, Lord Human, this can't be real, can it? Perhaps it'ssomething that still requires testing? Or something you haven't yet found suitable inks for?!"
"No," Robin replied evenly. "It is completely real, and you will find detailed recommendations for materials and inks already prepared." He gestured briefly behind her before clasping his hands behind his back.
"I believe the greatest uncertainty surrounding this array is how it will behave if both the injured party and the sacrificer are at the World Cataclysm level or above. At present, I can only guarantee its effectiveness up to the peak of a martial emperor. Perhaps, in the future, I will release a revised version designed specifically for those beyond the World Cataclysm threshold."
He tapped his chin thoughtfully several times. "...Do you think this limitation will prevent it from spreading?"
Timari stared at Robin as though she were gazing at some incomprehensible
monster.
"... Who are you, really?"
She then shook her head sharply and slapped her cheeks with both palms.
"W-- What kind of question is that, Lord Human?! Do you have any idea what
will happen once this array is released? Every power in the universe has individuals who are crippled due to catastrophic damage to their energy gathering center. The initial wave of sales, just to treat those existing victims, will reach absurd, historic numbers!"
"And even after that, every king and every emperor will try to obtain a few - even if they have no immediate need for it- simply as insurance for their children and followers. No, major forces such as millennial empires will undoubtedly attempt to purchase hundreds, if not thousands, regardless of the cost, not to mention the inevitable bulk purchases from Behemoth galaxies."
"This array represents a second life. A second chance-exactly as you named
it!" "Heh~" Robin nodded faintly. "My Fourth Consciousness thought this through very well."
The underlying principle appeared simple, yet how many beings in the universe possessed pure forms of the laws of Balance, Shaping, Energy, Soul, and Time
all at once?
"Psst-"
A voice slipped in from beyond the layers of protection surrounding the
sapling.
"First Consciousness, take this too-hehe."
