Mid Sector 99- Sacred Covenant PlanetBzzzt
One of the academy gates activated with a sharp, vibrating hum, the surrounding space trembling faintly as layers of light folded over one another, then several figures stepped out from it in calm, orderly succession, as if such arrivals were a routine occurrence.
There were around twenty of them, all from different races, with not a single pair resembling one another. Their appearances varied greatly, from skin textures to physical structures, some with smooth surfaces, others with rough, armored features, making each of them stand out in a unique and unmistakable way.
Even in terms of aura and presence, there was a vast disparity among them... some felt like towering mountains, others like calm yet unfathomable seas, while a few seemed restrained, as if hiding something deeper beneath the surface.
At the front stood a blue-skinned individual, his surface smooth and glossy as if coated in a thin gelatinous layer that reflected light in shifting patterns. Long whiskers extended from the sides of his mouth, resembling strips of living flesh, as though they were a natural and inseparable part of his body, moving ever so slightly with each breath.
That individual carried an aura that gripped the heart... not out of fear, but out of reverence, a presence that compelled others to lower themselves subconsciously.
The individuals directly behind him also appeared serious, their expressions composed, each surrounded by an immensely powerful aura of their own, their presence heavy, stable, and difficult to ignore.
Further behind them stood a group of youths, their clothes neatly arranged, their heads held high, their gazes wandering across the unfamiliar environment with visible curiosity and restrained excitement.
Finally, one of the youths spoke, pointing in a certain direction with a grin forming on his face. "Look over there... hehe, it seems we're going to have quite an enjoyable time here!"
The boys and girls in the back rows all turned their heads toward that direction at once, their curiosity instantly drawn.
There, a blond young man with thick hair falling naturally to his shoulders was gently holding the hand of a beautiful girl with soft brown hair and a charming, radiant smile.
The two of them were sitting in midair as if it were the most natural thing in the world, speaking softly to one another and exchanging quiet glances filled with warmth...
"Hm, should I take this to mean that the academy's students here are extremely strong and don't need training, or that they're so weak they don't care about studying?"
"I'm starting to like this academy already. They've got some nice extracurricular activities, hehe."
"Hmph, they're obviously just in love, you idiots!" one of the girls among them snapped, her expression tightening in annoyance.
"Hm, so this is the Sacred Covenant Academy?" another young man ignored the chatter entirely and began looking around carefully, his eyes moving slowly as he observed every detail with quiet focus. "...It doesn't seem that different from our academy"
"The energy is denser, the buildings are taller, and the students I've seen so far are wearing sets of epic armor," another young man muttered, his tone thoughtful. "What did you expect upon arrival, to see a dragon wearing a hat serving you tea?"
"I'm just saying people tend to exaggerate sometimes." The first youth waved his hand dismissively, clearly unimpressed. "The energy is dense, sure, but so what? We as students won't benefit from that. Only those at the level of World Cataclysms and above would feel any real difference."
"Hehe, a dragon wearing a hat serving tea..."
"Tsk~ don't talk nonsense or you'll just sound as foolish as you look right now." One of the figures in the second row frowned deeply, his brows knitting together as he focused on the surrounding space. "The energy here isn't just dense... it's strange." He raised his hand slightly, forming a small, rotating vortex in his palm. "I feel like it's trying to find a way to break into my body and slip into my energy center on its own... as if it has a will." He paused briefly, narrowing his eyes. "Energy absorption techniques are practically useless here..."
"This...?" The youths in the back immediately began trying it for themselves, each of them reacting almost at once, their expressions shifting from curiosity to shock in a matter of seconds. "Is this real?!"
"I heard there's a massive array covering the entire planet," one of the senior figures in the second row spoke, his brows furrowed as he carefully observed his surroundings, his senses fully extended. "An array that contains an advanced version of the Absolute Energy Absorption technique belonging to Lord Human. It activates automatically the moment the pores of the body are opened, and stops the instant they are closed, requiring no active control." Then he continued, his tone growing heavier as realization settled in, "I didn't believe it at first, but it seems it's true... if a cultivator doesn't need to actively maintain techniques or dedicate part of their consciousness to managing absorption, that would allow for far greater cultivation speed and near-perfect absorption efficiency." He let out a quiet breath. "It's a supportive array, simple in concept... but terrifying in the long run."
"It's said that Sky Opening City were the ones who created it, relying on the absorption techniques and array-crafting methods left behind for them by Lord Human," another person added, lowering his voice slightly as if speaking of something almost sacred.
"Hm? Lord Human has assistants? And he just hands over all his methods that easily?" one of them turned in disbelief, his eyes widening. "That's impossible,
right?"
"It's very possible..." another spoke seriously, his expression calm but firm. "From what I've heard, there are two Sky Opening Cities, one here in Mid Sector 99 and another in Mid Sector 100." He paused briefly before continuing, choosing his words carefully. "Since the announcement of the Cosmic Elder, more than ten Truth Chosen have joined those two cities... a number never seen before under a single power. It's said that the two cities, protected by the Cradle Empire and the Grave Empire, have become the core of development
for the new world."
"Don't overestimate them too much," another waved his hand dismissively, clearly unconvinced. "Rumors say that followers of Lord Human are required to take a strict oath before being allowed to join or even witness the innovations of Lord Human and his disciples. It's not as free as you make it sound." "And...?" someone else let out a mocking chuckle, his tone dripping with sarcasm. "You're a peak Nexus State using the Minor Devouring Law and haven't broken through for 330,000 years. If someone told you to come, take an oath, and freely study the secret works of the Savage Behemoth, wouldn't you accept without hesitation?"
"Lord Robin hasn't reached that level yet," the same person replied, waving his hand again as if dismissing the comparison.
The other immediately raised his voice, unable to hold back, &uot; Then who has?!"
"Enough. We'll have company in a moment..."
The blue-skinned figure at the front finally spoke, his voice calm yet carrying a natural authority that instantly silenced the surrounding chatter. "Disciples, disperse. Go take a look around and give me your impressions of what you see. Observe carefully, not just the surface, but the details beneath it."
Then he continued in a steady, measured tone, "As for the instructors, try to gather as much information as you can while speaking with the teachers here. Even the smallest detail could make a difference in understanding this place." "Understood." Everyone behind him responded in unison, their voices aligned
and disciplined.
Whoosh
At that moment, two figures descended before the newcomers, their arrival smooth yet commanding, drawing all attention toward them instantly.
Two women.
The first clearly carried the bloodline of a beast resembling an owl, evident
from her wide, sharp eyes, small refined nose, and the faint layer of feather-like texture across her skin that shimmered subtly under the light... it was Althera, holding her small sword with quiet readiness.
The second was the renowned head of the academy, the human who had
received the favor and trust of Lord Human... the Seven-Star Soul Lady,
Morgana, her presence calm yet deeply imposing.
Before these two striking figures, the man at the front nodded with a faint,
composed smile. "Ladies."
"Lord Blokan, a mid-level Monarch of the Fundamental Major Law of
Reflection... we have been expecting you."
Morgana stepped forward with a light, welcoming smile on her face, her eyes
steady and observant.
"Are you finally ready to join the Cosmic Academies?"
