Inside a large reception hall-Poof
The blue-skinned man sat down on a sofa in a relaxed, almost leisurely manner, as if he had been accustomed to visiting this place since childhood and saw nothing unfamiliar or threatening within it.
His defenses were lowered, his posture loose, and his expression calm, as though he was absolutely certain he was safe here, with no need for caution, vigilance, or restraint.
From that position, he cast a brief yet attentive glance around him, toward Morgana and Althera... both of them seated on sofas at the same level, to his right and left, without any attempt to elevate themselves above him or impose authority through position alone.
Before such a scene, one that carried no trace of arrogance or superiority toward someone who had come with the possibility of joining them, Blokan gave a slow, satisfied nod. "Good. Let me hear your offers."
"What offers, Lord Blokan?" Althera frowned immediately, her brows tightening as her tone sharpened. "You should be the one explaining your reason for delaying the execution of the Cosmic Elder's directive for half a century."
"Half a century is hardly worth mentioning for people like us, Lady Althera, don't hold it against me." Blokan waved his hand calmly, completely unbothered by her tone. "There were matters I needed to prepare, matters I had to
conclude, and others I had to put in order... such things take time, as you well know. One cannot simply move from one system to another overnight without consequences."
"That is exactly what everyone who joined us in the first year did," she replied sharply without hesitation. "They moved from one system to another and adapted quickly. So what's your excuse?" Then her expression hardened further, her gaze piercing. "Why don't you just admit you were watching from afar, trying to see whether the Cosmic Academies would rise or fall after forming under us? How dare you tie the Cosmic Elder's command to personal gain?!"
".."
Faced with that stream of questions, the blue-skinned man remained silent, neither denying nor confirming, his calm expression betraying nothing.
It was true... he had been watching from a distance.
He wanted to see whether the newly emerged figure, Lord Robin, that "young hatchling" as some called him, was capable of managing such a vast and complex system, one that involved a large number of Law Dominators and an even greater number of responsibilities spread across multiple sectors.
And to his surprise, Lord Robin had not appeared at all, nor had he issued any direct instructions or delivered any grand, inspiring speeches to rally support. Everything had been handled by these two women... and for some reason, against expectations, they had succeeded.
All the academies that had joined them and taken on the title of Cosmic Academies had returned to actively participating in the protection of their respective sectors, their efficiency even increasing compared to before. And not only that.
They had even begun forming their own independent peacekeeping force, a military core that was neither drawn from the public armies nor borrowed from that Syndicate, but built and controlled entirely by the academies themselves.
How had they managed to achieve something like that?
Every academy that joined received a batch of five hundred soldiers and officers who wielded the Law of Pure Light, fully equipped, disciplined, and combat-ready from the moment of deployment. They were also given substantial funding and connected with influential figures within their own sectors to procure the necessary equipment, along with additional financial support to attract mercenaries willing to serve on a permanent basis within their ranks, until they could gradually train their own standing army within the academy itself.
This system did not stop there.
They also opened opportunities to the middle class of nobles, allowing them to send their children to study without any financial cost, removing one of the greatest barriers to entry, in exchange for mandatory military service equal in duration to their time spent studying. On top of that, an additional year of service was required for every important book the student chose to study, further deepening both their knowledge and their obligation.
In this way, those noble families gained a new, educated generation trained under strict standards... the academies gained a structured and steadily growing army that was both loyal and capable... and the student gained not only knowledge, but also real combat experience that would shape them for the rest of their life.
Of course... that was only if they survived the process.
Yet somehow, through careful planning, structured deployments, and controlled engagements, the chances of survival were not low at all, making the entire system even more appealing despite its harsh conditions.
So, after spending years studying in the academy, the soldier would possess not only refined knowledge, but also the strength, discipline, and instincts necessary to keep himself alive on the battlefield for as long as possible. This was in addition to the expensive armor and high-grade talismans he would receive from the academy itself, equipment that many independent fighters could only dream of obtaining.
How much plague would it take to kill a single student like that?!
Beyond this concept, which laid the foundation for the peacekeeping armies and ensured a constant flow of trained fighters, other developments began to emerge, making everyone look at the Cosmic Academies with growing envy... For example, all of their open libraries were linked together into a unified network. Any student could access any library across all academies, regardless of distance or sector, and every library had been supplemented with the knowledge of Lord Human himself, as well as that of the Sky Opening Cities... of course, only the knowledge deemed suitable for public access.
As for the archives and secret libraries? They were restricted to the heads, deputies, and elders alone... yet even that limited access was enough to make them incomparably satisfied, as every single book within those archives was a treasure in its own right, capable of changing one's path entirely.
These academies were also supplied with vast funds to purchase troop transport vessels, additional funds to renovate and expand their infrastructure, and even more funds to acquire new planets for future expansion. It even went so far as assigning a Black Wasp to each academy, a specialized overseer tasked with supervising the training of students participating in the peacekeeping forces and ensuring their standards never declined.
Overall... every academy that joined the program experienced a massive surge forward, a transformation that could be felt in every aspect of their operation.
But...
"There's no problem in considering the benefits as well," Morgana smiled lightly, her tone calm and measured. "Lord Blokan is not an ordinary academy master, after all. It's only natural for him to be cautious about transitioning into a new system." Then she continued after a brief pause, her expression growing slightly more serious, "Especially with everything that's happening."
"Thank you!" Blokan gestured toward Morgana with clear approval. "At least there's someone rational in this academy."
"What do youmean, Blokan?!" Althera raised her voice slightly, her irritation
returning as her brows tightened. "Do you want me to inform the Cosmic Elder that you've been watching from afar for fifty years just to weigh the benefits? Do you think he'll be as 'rational' in judging you?"
"Ugh..." Blokan lifted his shoulders slightly in a casual shrug, completely unbothered by her words. "You can't blame me for wanting to protect what I've built." Then he stared directly into Althera's eyes, his tone sharpening just a
little. "And honestly, I'm not asleep. I'm not blind or deaf to what's happening behind the scenes... even now, the full extent of the safety of the Cosmic Academies system cannot be determined with certainty."
Then he continued in a steady, deliberate tone, "The system is good, undeniably so, but it still faces many challenges ahead. The plague is the least of your concerns at the moment, barely worth mentioning compared to what's
coming."
He then turned toward Morgana, his gaze narrowing slightly. "And I believe
what's happening with the Swords of Shadow against the Behemoth of Destruction on one side, and their conflict with the Behemoth of Relativity on the other, is the clearest proof of that... am I wrong?"
"You're not wrong, Lord Blokan," Morgana smiled, her expression composed and confident. "There are indeed difficulties facing the forces under His Majesty at the moment, pressures from multiple directions, but..." She slowly opened her eyes wider, her gaze sharpening with quiet certainty. "I hope you keep one thing in mind. No matter how many enemies gather against us, and no matter how great their power may be, His Majesty's forces have not retreated a
single step so far. What does that tell you?"
"..." Blokan stared into Morgana's beautiful eyes for a few moments, as if weighing her words carefully, then nodded slowly. "It tells me to take the gamble and join you... and that is why I'm here." Then he glanced between her and Althera, his expression turning slightly more serious. "But I will not take
orders from either of you."
Althera was clearly dissatisfied, and looked away without replying further.
"It's fine. Lady Althera and I have already discussed this," Morgana said calmly, maintaining her composure. "In addition to all the benefits received by the academies under us, we will welcome you into the Council of the Cosmic Academies to stand on equal footing with us and help manage the system. It would be an honor, and a great support, to have someone like you among us."
She stood up gracefully and extended her hand. "Shall I give the order to prepare a celebration for your joining?"
Blokan stood as well, a wide smile spreading across his face as he reached out
and shook her hand firmly. "Make sure there's plenty of meat at the celebration, partner, haha."
