Chapter 166: Treasures frought in danger

This chapter is updated by NovelFree.ml

To find the hidden pocket of space that would be his shortcut to the location of the treasures Yun Jhin had to search for a while.

Even though he knew of its existence he didn't know the proper location of it, as Hell said, he only had access to Hell's surface memories and not the exact ones that he wanted either. It couldn't be helped if he forcefully tried to extract memories from Hell there would be a backlash, while they were fused properly now that didn't mean they were one being.

They were like parasitic twins with bot having their individual will, if one wanted to go left and one wanted to go right they would feel a pain like they would be splitting in the middle... so they had to coexist peacefully if they didn't want to feel any pain or maybe even injure themselves to the point that they would be close to death.

Now that he was trying to find the entrance it made Hell's voice to appear in his mind again, now it was trying to goad him with its information and manipulate him into letting him free...

"I guess you still can't understand your position can you?"

undefinedYun Jhin was getting increasingly annoyed with this thing going on... maybe he could find some useful treasures that could shut it up for some time in the special place that it formerly guarded.

Yun Jhin found a white light that resembled an entrance after a while of searching, it was very small and it was integrated into the entrance to the 8th layer at a scale that was almost microscopic.

He had to search for a while to find it, he also had to strain his eyes using his ki enhancing technique so he could see the entrance... now that he found it he needed to enlarge it for enough time so his body could slip through it unharmed.

To increase the microscopic white entrance he had to use his ki as a bridge between the location that it led to and his current location which was the entrance to the 8th layer... he also had to hurry considering that the God Realm experts of the 9th layer would surely come back this way so they could return to their layer after eating this loss.

While he could defeat them if he wanted to, it would take time as the regenerative capabilities of a God Realm expert were a little bit too though to exhaust using his current Sage Realm capabilities he could defeat and kill them but it would take too much time.

He frowned as he kept his hands steady, the connection between the location he wanted to get to, and this one was firmly created with Yun Jhin's proper spatial skills and knowledge.

Now all he had to do was feed this connection with ki for a while before the entrance would enlarge and he could enter it... fortunately as soon as he cut the connection the entrance would disappear so no one else would be able to follow him inside.

It took him around 6 hours of pumping his ki into the 'tunnel' to enlarge the entrance enough for him to enter it without problems... after he entered the entrance quickly snapped shut behind him.

The entrance returned to its microscopic size and disappeared altogether for some reason, now no one would be able to use this entrance to get to where Yun Jhin currently was.

Yun Jhin found himself in a dark abyss... red eyes were looking at him from everywhere, it was like the earth and the skies were full of red eyes, dark mouths were laughing at him showing their pearly white teeth and sharp canines.

Yun Jhin didn't know if this was an illusion or if he was surrounded by creatures of hell... maybe this was one of the formations and trials hell put forward to deter those who wanted to take its important treasures.

"What do you think about my babies Yun Jhin?"

"Hmm...?"

Babies? So they weren't illusions, Yun Jhin couldn't recognize what type of creatures they were but there was also a chance Hell was trying to fool him into thinking they were real. Even with his judgement as a former peak God Realm expert, it was quite hard to see through this, was it illusion or reality?

There was one way to find out. Yun Jhin put his hand forward before launching a small ki ball out of his hand which travelled into the darkness illuminating it and showing... nothing, there was nothing there, all the mouths and red eyes disappeared as if they were never there.

But all he could see around was still nothing as if he wasn't anywhere, it was as if he was abandoned by everyone and nothing remained around him the brightness of his surroundings was actually started to blind him. After darkness came light!

Yun Jhin could see that the principles of Ying and Yang were used in here so he circulated the Ying-Yang talent he had gained in the king realm stabilizing the surroundings around him... then the five elements started to burn, freeze, batter, strike and slash him!

Yun Jhin's body was quickly becoming bloody but he ignored his injuries as he activated his five elemental talent absorbing all of the energies that were assaulting him in his body... with the new toughness and regenerative capabilities of his body, he immediately recovered to his peak bodily performance after he finished absorbing the energies.

Yun Jhin didn't know what other traps were supposed to be ahead so he stood there silently as he mulled upon what he should do to not find himself in a situation that he couldn't escape from:

"Hmmm? Aren't you quite multitalented? Ying-Yang, 5 elemental abilities along with such intricate way of using them?"

"But what else could I expect from a freak like you who had reincarnated for thousands of times?"

Hell's voice turned silent after it mocked/praised Yun Jhin.

Yun Jhin turned a deaf ear to what hell said, it was either meant to intimidate him or make him doubt himself at this point.

Doubting himself in this situation could lead to him falling into a deadly trap and losing his life here... in return, Hell's willpower will either die with him or be set free Yun Jhin wasn't sure.. while their fusion was successful it wasn't 100% done, even at this point while their beings were intertwining together, he could feel a deep resistance coming from the body of light that was seeping deep into the cells of his left arm.

But he had done everything he could regarding the fusion... all he could do was leave it to the Heaven's will per se.

To find the treasures Yun Jhin had to through a few more trials so he stopped waiting and started to trudge ahead in the 'nothingness' that surrounded him.

As he moved time seemingly passed at quick speeds... the four seasons passed by him, spring... summer... autumn... winter...

Those four seasons appeared from nothing and surrounded him, spring was gentle and clean, summer was scorchingly hot, autumn was cold and wet and winter was like frostbite was ready to dig into his flesh and rip it from the bone.

He accordingly used cultivation techniques opposed to the elements that discomforted him, besides spring where nothing happened Yun Jhin used cold Yin energy to keep his wits, in the autumn he used some hot Yang energy to keep his body warm and dry... and in the winter he used his inner flames to burn off the ice that was clinging to his shivering form until it melted and he went back to spring.

The second time spring came... it wasn't as gentle and clean as the first time, now winds battered him like they were ready to cut his flesh and drink his blood... but this wasn't' the only thing that happened... the seasons changed faster and faster and the intensity of the damage done to his body was increasing accordingly...

Unfortunately for the formation that was surrounding Yun Jhin, no matter how damaged his body was getting he could walk forward while ignoring the damage... Yun Jhin realized that to get out of this formation properly he had to endure every injury to his body from the changes of the 4 seasons, get in the middle and destroy the formation core!

Hell liked to torture people and surely there would be a guardian at the middle of the formation that would stop him from destroying the core... he would have to battle while being scorched, battered by wind, and wetted by rain, then frozen into a popsicle.

Yun Jhin's body endured everything as it regenerated at a speed that even his eye couldn't see... one moment he was frostbitten, the next one he returned to his normal temperature and the ice fell off his limbs and body... this cycle continued until he reached the middle of the formation and felt the cycle turning even more vicious than before!

In front of him stood a peculiar avatar of a horned man with a long red tail... and closed eyes his horns were dark and engraved with strange words, he wore an outfit that revealed his stomach, only a simple yellow and orange jacket was on his body and the jacket was quite short... he wore blue gi pants with a green sash tied at his waist. He also wore green and blue boots.

Yun Jhin couldn't identify his cultivation at a first glance but the more he looked at him the more he understood that he was going to be a ferocious adversary.

He took two steps forward as he entered a stance and took out his halberd from his spatial dimension, keeping it in front of him with a vice grip, his aura lingered around his skin as an armour manifested on his body appearing above his special defensive clothes increasing their capability of enduring damage.

He didn't use his gigantic form as there was not enough space where he was... he also felt somewhat restricted due to the elements battering his body constantly without rest.

Yun Jhin waited for a few seconds but the avatar didn't open his eyes... Yun Jhin looked at it for a few seconds before he got close to the visible formation core and slashed it into pieces with his halberd!

The four seasons formation broke and the avatar remained in front of him, he took a closer look to it and saw that it had no soul... then he looked at his left arm and chuckled, he will continue then.

Muffled screams of anger from his left arm were currently attacking Yun Jhin's inner ears... but he continued ignoring them and went on.
