Chapter 1139: Time to develop.

Time outside the ritual passed extremely quickly from the perspective of the dragon gods, but the same could not be said for those who were inside the ritual.

Another important reason was boredom. Ancient Greek goddesses who were on the Empire’s side understood this very well. With the passage of time, long-lived beings grow bored with everything and lose motivation. This behavior was harmful to the Empire in the long term and could lead to destructive behaviors.

Just look at Scathach’s actions before meeting Victor, and the actions of the goddesses themselves. Boredom leads people to seek something to do, and many of those things can be harmful to society itself. Imagine a population of trillions of immortal beings? That was hell on Earth.

Life must have a beginning, middle, and end, so that the feeling of ’new’ can always be present. Because of that, those who died do not have memories of their past life, only having a feeling that they belonged as citizens of the Empire. Except for those who had achieved great deeds for the Empire, most would have their memories erased and would have a new beginning.

That was not the only thing. Slowly and surely, Velnorah and Victor began a project to evolve the races. Humans became primordial humans, becoming much stronger than ordinary humans. Even children of this race can easily lift a building.

New vampires and new werewolves returned to the ancestral state. Now they no longer need to ’awaken’ to use their powers like the Count Vampire form that Victor and his vampire wives have.

Bloodlines grew stronger, bloodlines mixed, and, unlike before, with the presence of life gods monitoring and the Empire’s superior technology brought by Velnorah, there were no bloodline problems. Hybrids of various races were common in the 30,000 millennium of the imperial calendar.

At that time, humanity had already spread throughout their entire mother galaxy. The planets that had world trees began to be populated, and the population became interplanetary.

There were several means of transportation between planets, but the most common were the teleports that exist on each planet or the spaceships that use the same principle. When a civilization masters space and time, the concept of distance becomes irrelevant.

With the blink of an eye, you could be in Yggdrasil, and with another blink, you could be on the slightly more distant planets located on the edges of the galaxy.

Each new planet had a new Tower of Challenges, a copy of Babylon that was placed to encourage everyone to surpass their limits.

These towers created a large interconnected system. If an explorer enters the tower of Yggdrasil and another enters the tower of a distant solar system, they will still meet on the same floor.

Each floor was gigantic, capable of reaching the size of the old Earth or the size of a mega-planet. The floors were expanded and reduced automatically according to the size of the challengers in each of them.

Thanks to the Tower of Challenges, the culture around the Empire grew to become a culture of warriors. However, unlike ancient societies that valued only warriors, within the Empire everyone knew how to respect one another because each had a role to play for the Emperor.

Another group of beings that were loving this new era were the gods of the other pantheons. They were not like Victor, who was loyal to his wives. As long as they felt desire, they spread their seeds everywhere, sleeping with anyone who was interested in them. And with the superior technology of the Empire and powerful dragon gods...

Bloodline problems were no longer the norm, which means that... Demigods spread like plagues.

In the 30,000 millennium, harems were something common. As long as the individual had resources and could support their wives or husbands, everything was allowed.

It was truly a divine era, where gods and mortals walked without conflicts. More than 30 thousand years of development passed, and during that time, the legions of the Empire began to appear.

The first legions appeared at the beginning of year 20 of the Imperial calendar, specifically two legions.

Created by the goddesses Ariel, Kaguya, Nyx, Leona, and Tasha. The Sixth Legion: The Silent Judgment. This legion was responsible for applying Imperial law in any newly acquired territory. They usually act together with the third legion. If the third legion was the justice of the shadows, the sixth legion was justice in the light.

Sixth Legion: The Silent Judgment.

Function: Execution, punishment, and cleansing of corrupted or rebellious planets, maintaining order within the Empire at any cost.

Responsible for: judging, applying absolute laws, and eradicating heresies at first sight.

Common units: Elite soldiers, executioners, inquisitors, mind readers, empathic beings capable of feeling emotions, etc.

Internal slogan: "Heresy will not be tolerated."

Current Commander: Jeanne Elderblood, with Leona acting as her substitute when Jeanne is busy.

Just like the sixth legion, the third was created soon after by Nyx, Kaguya, and Persephone; this legion was made to operate in the shadows; the dirty work of the Empire would fall into their hands in ’most cases’.

Third Legion. The Black Hand of the Emperor. Or, as it is called, B.H.E.

Function: Intelligence, espionage, infiltration, and psychological warfare, etc.

Responsible for: Hunting traitors, destabilizing enemies, controlling the imperial narrative, etc.

Most common units: Shadow assassins, telepaths, shapeshifters, shadow demons, etc.

Internal slogan: "No one sees what bleeds in the dark."

Current Commander: Kaguya Elderblood, with Nyx acting when Kaguya is busy.

The 3rd and 6th legions act as the police and the secret service of the Empire, but these were not the only legions created.

In the 50th year of the Imperial calendar, Ruby, Velnorah, Natalia, and Alice descended in their avatars and decided to unify all the knowledge of the Empire. On that day, the fourth legion called Stellar Arsenal was created. This legion was also responsible for acquiring and studying future alien knowledge.

Fourth Legion: Stellar Arsenal

Function: Research, development, and control of super weapons and forbidden technology.

Responsible for: Creating weapons of mass destruction on the scale of solar systems and beyond, genetic experiments, temporal manipulation, etc.

Most common units: scientists, engineers, witches, and automatons to deal with more dangerous experiments, etc.

Internal slogan: "Progress at any cost."

Current Commander: Ruby Elderblood, with Velnorah or Aline acting as commander when Ruby is not available.

With only these 3 legions, most of the systems of the Empire were organized, but the protection of the Imperial family was still necessary. Therefore, the Imperial Guard was expanded and became the fifth legion.

Created personally by the Emperor, this legion contained the best of the best. It was made to protect the Emperor’s family, as well as the fervent faithful of the Empire. Each sacred temple had at least 3 to 5 units protecting it.

They were often called Sacred Guards by the most fervent faithful. And even though it seemed there were only a few protecting the sacred temples, they were the best of the best. Only one of them was enough to deal with most threats. Five, in most cases, was an exaggeration.

Because of its extremely important function, this was one of the legions that had fewer common units and more elite units. These elite units could be sent to any legion if support was needed.

Fifth Legion: The Imperial Guard.

Function: Personal defense of the Imperial Family, the faithful, and sacred relics.

Responsible for: Protecting Victor, his wives, daughters, and places considered sacred.

Most common units: Elite warriors handpicked by the Emperor or Empress.

Internal slogan: "We protect the hope of the Empire."

Current Commander: Nero Elderblood, Ophis Elderblood, Rose Elderblood when Nero and Ophis are not present.

In the 1000th year of the Imperial Calendar, two new legions were created, respectively the 1st and the 2nd legion.

First Legion: Spartan Legion.

Backstory: named in honor of the famous Spartans, this legion was created by Aphrodite together with Scathach and Rose, and trained personally by Scathach and Rose to invade, conquer, and secure everything for the Empire. If a battle happened, this legion would be the first to enter combat.

Function: Direct attack, invasion, and large-scale offense.

Responsible for: Conquering planets, breaking stellar defenses, and leading campaigns against external enemies.

Most common units: war dragons, armored soldiers, siege mages, spaceships capable of exploding planets and solar systems, etc.

Internal slogan: "We are the spear of the Empire, For the Emperor!"

Current Legion Commander: John, who may be replaced by Rose, Eleonor, or Kali depending on the situation.

Rumors say that the Emperor pursed his lips in displeasure because of the name Aphrodite chose.

Because of the action that the goddesses took, Victor realized that there were very few things referencing the Greeks. Although he dislikes the gods of that pantheon, since they were practically eliminated now in name, he did not mind letting his subordinate goddesses be happy.

Therefore, on that same day that the First Legion was created, a city called Aphrodisias was recreated once again in the heart of the Empire, Yggdrasil, and which would be the headquarters of the First Legion.

Aphrodite also gained that day a super spaceship with more than 300,000 KM2 of internal space capable of housing 50 million beings. Despite the gigantic space, the spaceship was the size of a cruiser capable of destroying a solar system, measuring 60 km by 15 km in length and width. All of this is possible because of the runes that greatly expanded the internal space.

She also gained an entire planet for herself to shape however she wished, where she would rebuild her Greek temple.

The smile of happiness that Aphrodite gave, along with the explosion of her divinity, was strong enough to affect even the dragon gods.

"DARLING, I LOVE YOU!" She hugged him and kissed his entire face, over and over again.
