Two of the Werewolves had Koppo pinned down, his upper head had transformed into a large torpedo shaped almost shark with sharp jaws. His body thrashed as he tried to get his footing, claws scraping across the floor as the creatures forced him down. One of them had its weight pressed onto his shoulders while the other clawed at his side, teeth snapping inches from his face.
As one Werewolf held onto him ready to bite him, he turned his head and bit right on it’s arm, he could feel his teeth breaking through the bone, but it didn’t seem to matter, it was as if these creatures didn’t feel pain and they bit him right on the neck sinking his teeth through.
The sound of flesh tearing filled the room. Koppo’s jaws clenched harder, shaking his head violently, trying to rip the limb clean off. He felt bone crack between his teeth, but the Werewolf didn’t even flinch. Instead its fangs sank deeper into his neck, blood starting to spill down across his blue tinted skin.
“I have to help him!” Daphne thought as she knelt down and activated the power of her boots, she burst forward with speed, and then lifting her leg up kicked one of the Werewolves in the stomach that was on top of Koppo.
The impact echoed through the office floor.
The werewolf’s body was launched off and into the air, and had broken right through the glass of the building.
Shards exploded outward in every direction, scattering across the street below.
As the Werewolf was seen falling even an Altered would be killed dropping from this height, or at least seriously hurt.
For a split second Daphne believed it was over.
That’s when the Werewolf stretched out it’s arms, the muscle fibres looked like they were forcefully stretched and then it’s clawed hand had reached out holding onto the edge of the building.
The sound of its claws scraping against concrete was sharp and unnatural.
The people outside had heard the noise, as glass shards fell to the bottom, and they were looking in the air, seeing a creature hanging on the outside.
Screams began to rise from the street.
It quickly pulled itself up, and had re entered the room, before anyone could try and snap any photos or videos of it.
Its body moved unnaturally fast, almost like it hadn’t fallen at all.
This gave Koppo a fighting chance though, as he had pinned one of the Werewolves to the wall, and then bit down biting right on it’s head, snapping it off and killing it.
The force of his jaws crushed through skull and spine, the body going limp instantly.
The boost thanks to Daphne’s power had helped Koppo get the strength to face one of these things. The issue was, he had bite marks and claw marks on his body, and he had only taken care of one that was many.
Blood dripped down from his neck, staining the floor beneath him.
It wasn’t just Koppo that was struggling, Brit was having a hard time as well. Thanks to Daphne’s power, there were two things that Brit could do more of.
One was he could transform more of his limbs into tree like substances that twirled around as if they were alive.
The wooden extensions lashed out, wrapping around Werewolf limbs and torsos, trying to bind and crush.
It gave him more power to restrict his enemies rather than fight them head on like he would have to without her power.
The second added benefit, was the bark like skin was hardened. It was strengthened to the point his skin was almost like metal.
Claws scraped against him, sparks flying in places where fang met bark.
The issue was none of this mattered in the face of what these creatures were. They could bend his bark like structures and their claws ripped through the tree’s like ordinary bark.
Chunks splintered off his arms as they tore into him.
As Brit swung his large arms whacking them on the face. One had managed to jump through landing on his body, and biting him on his neck.
The sound was heavy and wet.
Two more of the Werewolves then pulled at his legs from underneath him causing his back to fall onto the floor, and then they dragged him away, out of the main area not to be seen by the others.
His wooden arms scraped desperately against the floor as he was pulled.
“BRIT!” Daphne screamed, but there were three Werewolves in her way, that she would have to get through to even have a chance at saving him.
They circled her, low growls rumbling from deep within their chests.
‘Can I control them, can I tame them? They aren’t the same as the Howlers but my powers worked on Gary so it should work on them right?’ Daphne thought.
Her mind raced through possibilities.
The issue was, how would she even touch them, although she had speed, by the time she touched one another would attack her if she stopped even for a moment.
Their coordination was unnatural.
They weren’t acting like mindless beasts.
“Daphne we have to get out of here!” Yin shouted as she had rushed to her side and flipped landing right next to her.
Her breathing was steady despite the chaos around them.
Compared to all of the others Yin seemed to be the least hurt, and that was thanks to her reflexes of her Altered form.
She was able to dodge a large number of attacks, and hit quite quickly back, but in this situation even her small clawed hands and punches were doing next to nothing.
Her strikes left marks, but the creatures continued moving.
“I know you want to save Brit, but right now if we don’t get out of this situation, we will all be gone, you know that better than anyone else, and you can make the hard decision when they need to be made.”
Daphne’s fists trembled.
She could hear Brit’s struggle fading deeper into the building.
She could see that Koppo was barely hanging on as well. Koppo with his form could charge through to the staircase but if he continued fighting he would be gone as well.
More shapes were appearing from the corridors.
The growls were multiplying.
“Retreat, head for the staircase and get out of here!” Daphne shouted.
