Chapter 1435: Her again?

This chapter is updated by JustRead.pl

Liam's pulse quickened. He was beginning to see the shape of a deeper truth. Maybe this was why the Soulweaver thread was inert. The system didn't know what to do with it. It couldn't process it. The rune in his soul was a fragment of something beyond the system's framework, an artifact of raw, pre-systemic creation.

He leaned forward as Elder Sun traced a particularly intricate rune in the air. "This glyph is called Tiiran. It means 'rooted resonance.' You'll find it at the heart of most ancient arrays designed to stabilize consciousness across dimensions. By merely looking at this rune, many have even achieved breakthroughs."

The elder continued the lecture as he effortlessly conjured more runes into the air, each glowing with distinct frequencies that hummed in resonance with the room itself. "Runes like Tiiran are not mere marks. They are living scripts. Fragments of intent that bind space, time, and self together. And when you trace them, you are not copying symbols. You are aligning your essence with primordial law."

Liam's heart pounded harder. He couldn't help but be envious of the young scions of ancient clans who would have gotten to sit in many lectures such as this and be exposed to knowledge that was so hard for him to come by. Unlike him, who was scraping by wherever and whatever he could get, the geniuses of the big families would have had an entirely different life.

Liam stopped his mind from wandering and snapped back to pay full attention to the class. The class was so mentally taxing that even he had to pay extra attention just to not lose focus. The knowledge and profundity in every single word were overwhelming to say the least.

Elder Sun's voice continued to echo through the vast amphitheater. "Those who truly walk the path of ancient runes must first learn to listen. Not with ears. Not even with mind. But with identity. Runes are truths. You cannot forge one unless you first accept what is already real."

"You must accept your path and walk forward with full conviction in your dao. Your dao is your reality, and your dao is your truth. Only by fully immersing yourself in it will you be able to fully comprehend the rune script for your path."

The lecture continued for the next hour, and overall, it was an extremely short amount of time, especially considering the lifespans of people who had gathered here, but no one felt that it was short at all. Everyone walked out of the classroom completely dazed and exhausted, including Liam.

He immediately returned to his quarters and focused once again on going over what was taught in the class today. His attendant helped him procure more reading materials from the records tower, and Liam busied himself studying the various things about runic language.

He had yet to come across anything related to his soul rune, but it did not matter. The language of the ancient world was fascinating by itself, and he could already feel some of his skills improving by leaps and bounds as he began to understand the runic script behind them.

He could only curse his ignorance for not doing this earlier and familiarizing himself with the rune language at a deeper level.

Liam immersed himself in study like a starving man thrown into a banquet of truths. Each new scroll, every etched sigil, and obscure commentary from ancient alchemists peeled back another layer of the world's design. The runes weren't just tools, they were living pathways. Threads of intent, forged even before the System.

He began to see patterns in spells he'd cast for years, structural flaws he'd never noticed, inefficiencies that were now painfully obvious. And all of it traced back to runes. Their arrangement. Their harmony. Their identity.

The more he delved into the structure and rhythm of these primordial glyphs, the more he began to understand the small components that made up the origin rune sitting in his soul. Perhaps if he were able to gain some more insights, he might even be able to understand a good amount of the rune and break through his block point.

Soon, an entire week passed by just like that, and it was once again time for another lecture. Liam hurriedly walked to the lecture hall and sat down in the back. He had a lot of questions and doubts in his mind, which he hoped to be able to understand through this lecture. He was really looking forward to it.

Time ticked by, and the lecture was about to start. The doors of the classroom banged open, and when Liam looked up, a familiar face walked inside. Standing in front of him with simple robes and her long hair fluttering about was none other than that lunatic woman, Nyx.

So she was a core disciple of this sect? That was just perfect. Liam frowned. He did not want to meet this woman ever again and yet he had willingly walked into a lecture hall for a lecture given by the same woman.

Liam thought about it for a moment and then decided to take it easy. It was a big lecture hall after all. There was no need to fret. If this Nyx had something to teach, then he was all the more willing to listen and to learn. He would just be one among the masses. There shouldn't be any issues.

Nyx didn't even glance at the crowd as she walked to the center of the amphitheater.

"Most of you were taught to fear instability," Nyx started. "To avoid conflict within your soul, to treat imbalance as a sickness. But the truth is that evolution is born from discord. You want to awaken your path? Break it first. Shatter what you think you are."

She then began showing some of the basic alchemical runes. Each one emanated power and was very awe-inspiring just to even watch. Everyone jotted down all the details, down to the last stroke of the rune, including every word out of her mouth, without missing even a single thing.

Soon, the time passed, and the one-hour mark was almost over, the lecture coming to an end. Liam had also gained a lot from the lecture this time. Her teachings were in no way lesser compared to the teachings of the elder, and many gaps in his knowledge were filled.

Attending these types of things was definitely better than simply reading notes from a book. The insights gained were more profound and elaborate.

At this time, Nyx suddenly raised her hand again, and a single rune formed. This was a unique rune in the sense that it did not have a stable form at all. It was chaotic, twisting, as if it didn't want to exist in one form. "This is the Rune of Transmutation," she said softly as everyone in the huge space watched the rune in awe.

Liam's eyes were wide as he was completely focused on this rune. Surprisingly, this rune structure was very similar to the soul origin rune, and as she explained the details behind the rune, many things immediately became clear to him. He slowly went into a trance as he listened and comprehended at the same deepening his understanding more and more.

And then it happened. A Dao pillar erupted all around him, fully enclosing him, indicating the creation of a new Dao seed in the soul.
