Chapter 2567: Cold

The moment Miko noticed that the Bear is missing, Sam who was far away in the base also sensed something.

He was bare chested, in front of the mirror, as he activated energy in several acupoints, creating different patterns one after the other as he experimented with something.

Then he got the message of distress from the Bear through their mental connection. He immediately activated a transference token. He left something to every beast so that he could use it as a spatial node. But this transference token didn’t work.

His frown deepened. He used the dimensional drifted and appeared in the territory.

Miko who didn’t even get a chance to send a message to Sam, saw him appear out of thin air and was stunned.

He had that serious expression on his face. Its very similar to the one he had when he beat some sense into Icarus.

And his appearance made him more worried. Not only was his upper body bare, he didn’t even wear his shoes. He was levitating just a couple of inches away from the ground. A cold aura emanated from him.

With all those scars on his body... he just looked too dangerous.

With a wave of his hand, several bird puppets flew around, checking every nook and cranny of the area, to see Bear’s location. Even though he could feel that the bear is near with his mental connection, something is blocking him from actually pinpointing the location.

He hoped that Bear was locked in some kind of special spot within the territory. That would be the ideal case scenario.

If that is not the case though... then things would get a lot more complicated.

And Sam’s situations had never been ideal. The bird puppets came up with nothing.

As he was thinking of his next steps...

*ROAR*

*CAWW*

Roars and growls of his beasts were heard. All his beasts, from Yanwu to Hopper... everyone appeared next to him and all of them had serious aura like they were ready to take some lives.

Following them were the managers left in charge of keeping an eye on them.

They were also surprised when they saw Sam.

Miko looking at their puzzled expressions, explained.

"Bear is missing. Someone came here and distracted me. I believe they might have abducted it."

This is also the first time Sam had heard about it. After all, he didn’t even give her a chance to explain it before.

At that moment, both Raiju and Sam started sniffing. Following their lead the rest of the beasts followed them towards the location. The scent stopped at a particular point.

Sam stood there and assessed.

Judging from the signs, this place was not too far away from the spot where Bear had his last battle and it’s also close to the border of the territory. It’s connected to the land of one of the factions.

After a couple of seconds, Sam looked deeper into the forest and yelled.

"I know you are here. Come out, please."

This is the first time he spoke. Even his loud yelling was cold like tundra.

They didn’t know who he was talking to though... but within a minute, as his expression grew colder, a tree spirit appeared and bowed in front of him.

"I am sorry, I was powerless to stop them. Friend of spirits.

It was Saxons who too your beast companion. They went in that direction."

The tree spirit immediately knew what Sam wanted and they pointed him in the right direction. Sam didn’t wait. He floated over there like a flash of light and appeared at the border, in the path leading directly into the Saxon territory.

Saxons are one of the factions and it was neither too big, nor too small. It is right there in the middle.

And they were one of the less civilized ones. They operate in tribes and those tribes. They don’t have too many fixed locations. They have one of the largest territories and they roam around it freely.

But they do have one fixed location close to the border and that is where he actually installed the trading system.

He levitated through the grasslands at a leisurely pace like he was moving every inch with intent.

He was out in the open and was spotted by the people of Saxons a long time ago. As he came closer to the city, one of the guards who was in charge of monitoring the situation with Sam’s new territory came running.

"Hello, Mr. Sam..."

Sam ignored him, he just moved forward. That guy is the same cultivation level as Sam. He is not just some seeded candidate like Atrocus. That was all.

He did hear about all kinds stories about him, but he didn’t believe any one of them. The fact that he was on guard duty at such a place which was supposed to be given to some cannon fodder already pissed him off.

Now, Sam is ignoring him. This only made him angrier. He interrupted Sam and was about to speak again... when a small knife appeared in Sam’s hands. He twirled it in between his fingers and with a single swipe, slit the throat of the guard.

Blood squirted out, painting the surrounding gas red.

As the body was about to fall, a bunch of shadow mice appeared, and swallowed it into the shadows.

About that time, the trio rushed on their hoverboards.

They felt Sam’s aura from a mile away and they knew immediately that someone fucked up on a monumental level. When they learned that the bear was taken away...

"Damn, everywhere we go, some idiot has to do something mess up our peace." Philip muttered through gritted teeth.

"Bear is so innocent. Sam’s gonna be pissed off, if he throws a tantrum over the kidnapping." Watt said while scratching his head.

Contrary to the managers the three were only a bit concerned. They were not too worried.

Because they knew there is no point of worrying... whoever kidnapped bear, is gonna be fucked.
