Chapter 4493: A Specialist In Killing Plume Immortals

Lu Yin grabbed Gao Tian’s talons, one that was still gripping his arm.

Five open gashes were bleeding on Lu Yin’s arm, and his blood was staining the tips of the talons. He seized one and suddenly exerted force. With a loud crack, it snapped.

Gao Tian grew furious. "Human, you dare?"

Lu Yin slowly smiled. "You mangy bird, I forgot to tell you that my name is Lu Yin. I specialize in killing Plume Immortals. Three have already died by my hand."

He snapped off the tip of another talon. "One was called Ming Yu."

He snapped another. "One was called Chang Dou."

Finally, he broke the last. "One was called Nan Ling."

Gao Tian stared at Lu Yin. Although it only had one eye remaining, it was filled with overwhelming bloodlust. "What did you say?"

With all four talons broken, Lu Yin slowly clenched a fist. The flesh of his arm withered and recovered, again and again. Lifeforce twined around it as power surged from his whole body. "The next one is called Gao Tian."

As he spoke, he threw an overwhelmingly powerful punch: Star Fist.

The blow slammed into Gao Tian’s head. Lu Yin intended to decapitate the Plume Immortal.

Gao Tian was blasted back by the punch. Its blinded eye started bleeding again while its remaining eye quaked. The bird let out a cry before vanishing by teleporting away.

Lu Yin reappeared. His punch had failed. His expression turned grim. This Plume Immortal’s defense was absolutely monstrous. His punch had not even managed to stun it.

Somewhere, far away in an unknown direction, Gao Tian’s vision was blurred. After a moment, it managed to regain a bit of clarity. It let out a hate-filled screech and then teleported back to the Nine Odysseys Megaverse, instantly thrusting a Godplume Spear at Lu Yin.

Lu Yin dodged the attack, teleporting above Gao Tian and striking downwards with a punch. At the same time, Gao Tian teleported, its talons stretching out from behind. Lu Yin released his sight power: Manifestation Beyond the Pupil.

Bang!

There was a clash between the invisible talon slash and a plate of armor. The slash managed to leave a mark on the plate. Although the mark was shallow, Gao Tian was the first creature that had managed to leave any trace on a plate from the One-Hundredth Seal.

Gao Tian had fought against the Nine Ramparts during the war to destroy that civilization. Even back then, the bird had been one of the most powerful Plume Immortals, so its familiarity with the powers of the Nine Ramparts was only natural.

Lu Yin stared at Gao Tian. "Mangy bird, you sure know a lot."

Gao Tian grew puzzled. "Which Rampart are you descended from? You have the Fourth Rampart’s Heaven’s Sight, the Sixth Rampart’s Tai’a Star Fist, and even the Ninth Rampart’s guardian artifact is here."

Chu Songyun had already lost consciousness, or else Gao Tian would have also seen the Second Rampart’s guardian artifact.

Lu Yin coldly retorted, "Figure it out."

He then teleported closer to Gao Tian, unleashing another punch.

The bird’s expression grew venomous. Whether it was because of Wang Wen or the fact that Lu Yin had the ability to teleport, this human had to be eliminated. Otherwise, he would become the Plume Immortals’ greatest threat.

"How are you?" Ancestor Lu Yuan asked. He had arrived long ago and had been waiting for Chu Songyun to wake up.

Chu Songyun looked at the man through a haze, "Ancestor?"

Since Lu Yin was his master, it was only natural that Chu Songyun address Lu Yuan in the same manner.

This was despite the fact that he had lived for far longer than Lu Yin.

Ancestor Lu Yuan observed the man. "How are you? Can you move?"

Chu Songyun clenched his teeth, his face still pale. The excessive blood loss had sapped his strength, and yet he persisted and spoke through gritted teeth. "I can."

Ancestor Lu Yuan spoke in a low voice, "We’re dealing with a Plume Immortal. We may need to rely on the Red Umbrella, so be prepared."

"A Plume Immortal?"

Ancestor Lu Yuan took Chu Songyun straight to the Nine Odysseys Megaverse, allowing him to see the two figures who were constantly teleporting and clashing outside of the megaverse.

Chu Songyun’s eyes blazed. "Master broke through?"

Ancestor Lu Yuan nodded. "He did. He killed Nan Ling and Death's Dominion and managed to drive away both Ni Bieluo and the Divine King. This should be our last formidable enemy."

Chu Songyun gritted his teeth. "Rest assured, Ancestor. If Master needs me, I will risk my life to hold that bird down and prevent it from teleporting to escape!"

Ancestor Lu Yuan let out a breath. He did not know whether Lu Yin would need the Red Umbrella to counter Gao Tian’s ability to teleport, but it was better to be prepared.

If the Plume Immortal could be eliminated during this battle, it would be enough to console all who had died.

Inside and outside the megaverse, Lu Yin and Gao Tian continued their teleporting duel. The closest they came to others was when they appeared on the wreckage of the Mother Tree. He could not block them, but he could alter their direction enough to determine where they were going to fall. The Godplume Spears shattered nearly half of the Nine Odysseys Megaverse’s North Domain, and the Skyward Gate disappeared entirely.

Lu Yin breathed heavily. He lifted his head to meet Gao Tian’s gaze.

The Plume Immortal’s expression was as venomous as ever, and its eye was still filled with mockery. "You humans are still so fragile. Emotions are your greatest weakness. Since you care so much about those ants, all of you can die."

As it spoke, it summoned more Godplume Spears. This time, the scale of the attack was even larger, encompassing the entire megaverse.

Throughout the entire Nine Odysseys Megaverse, countless people looked up at the falling meteors. The end was upon them.

Seeing the countless Godplume Spears, Lu Yin soared upwards. Lifeforce erupted as he moved.

Gao Tian continued to mock him. No matter how powerful Lu Yin’s Lifeforce might be, it could not oppose its Godplume Spears. This human was just too naive.

At the same time that he unleashed his attack, the numerous Godplume Spears pierced his Lifeforce, as well as the land of the Nine Odysseys Megaverse. The spears passed entirely through the megaverse, with some entering the Spirit Nidus that was currently being reset.

The expected reset of the megaverse did not occur.

Gao Tian took Lu Yin’s punch. Its beak nearly shattered, and it was blasted back once more, blood scattering along its way.

How could this be? Why hasn’t this megaverse been reset?

Lu Yin’s arm trembled. He had used a massive amount of power, and yet it was still not enough. It had proven to be far from enough. This old monster resonated with three cosmic laws and was the strongest enemy that he had ever faced. He needed to risk everything if he wanted to win.

As for the Nine Odysseys Megaverse, the purpose of Lu Yin releasing so much Lifeforce had never been to counter the Godplume Spears, but rather to push the sequence strings aside and delay the descent of the spears. He had always known that his Lifeforce could not block the Godplume Spears, but it was possible for him to slow them slightly.

Before the Godplume Spears struck the ground, Ancestor Lu Yuan had already been teleporting about, moving most of the people who would have been struck. This had resulted in the Godplume Spears causing immense destruction to the land, but little harm to anything else. Such an attack could not restart the Nine Odysseys Megaverse. The megaverse already had a very limited number of sequence strings.

Every civilization recognized humanity’s weakness. The Divine King and Nan Ling had both exploited this flaw and attacked human civilization as a whole.

Humans were not able to abandon their emotions.

Given the current situation, strategy was required to face off against Gao Tian. Otherwise, humanity would be restrained and forever unable to win. They would only be able to accept the bird’s blows.

That did not match Lu Yin’s nature.

A moment later, Lu Yin’s body was sent flying backward. On his chest were five deep marks where a blow had nearly torn through him.

He vanished, teleporting away and putting some distance between himself and Gao Tian. Looking down, he saw that the five marks were from the bird’s talons, but because they had been broken, it had only been able to leave these marks. If not for that, Lu Yin’s body might have been sliced through.
