Chapter 4532: Fight Out A Future

Far away, Lu Yin's skeleton clone was still enduring the tearing power of Great Golden Wings' attack. Its power came from Great Golden Wings' bone wings, and it was continuously trying to slice his body apart.

The Stillness had sliced half of the megaverse apart, and it looked like it was about to be reset.

Lu Yin examined his body. Cracks could be seen in various bones. What a terrifying attack. The power of Great Golden Wings’ attack when unleashing all of its Stillness was still not something this skeleton clone could withstand.

He remembered one sentence that the skeleton bird had shared: the thing most suited to Stillness will always be the self, not an external cultivation art.

His Cosmic Art was able to absorb a vast amount of Stillness, even surpassing a peak one-law Immortal like Great Golden Wings. But when it came to actually utilizing the energy, the cultivation art fell far short. It was like a child who possessed great physical strength yet who did not know how to use it.

Lu Yin sat on the barren planet and looked up at the sky that was continuously splitting apart. It appeared that this megaverse would not be reset that easily. It did not have many parallel universes, so it might not be completely destroyed.

He turned to look back at the path of Stillness. Although it was a great distance away, the Mirrorlight Art allowed him to see it perfectly. He saw Great Golden Wings continue paving the path. The bird had actually kept a lot of its Stillness reserves hidden.

Lu Yin was in no rush. He could wait and decide upon his own course of action later. If he went back to find Great Golden Wings right now, he would not be able to defeat it, and the only result would be mutual wounds. He could just wait for the bird to finish paving the path and then follow it. He would catch up to it eventually.

First, he had to consider how to use his remaining Stillness.

However, even if he completely restored the stars of his Cosmic Art, he would still struggle to do anything to Great Golden Wings. He had to find another way to use this power. Normally speaking, an ordinary Immortal would not be able to cover that distance even after 1,000 years, but by relying on the characteristics of the Abyssal Displacement, it was possible to traverse the distance in an instant. What slowed the process at the moment was the need to first use Stillness to pave the path. Even so, the distance could still be covered in about 200 years.

Also, with Great Golden Wings paving the way forward, Lu Yin did not need to consume any Stillness at all and could also move much faster.

The skeleton bird had specifically taken a route that passed by Withered Requiem's Abyss, possibly with the same goal in mind. Yet, this impatience actually benefited Lu Yin. The path forward was already paved for him, so he only needed to follow it.

He stepped back onto the path, maintaining a great distance from Great Golden Wings. Lu Yin maintained the same distance for decades. During that time, he thought long and deep on how he could alter the manner in which he used Stillness, or how he could improve the Duality Seal.

While he still had his main body as a backup, he could not always rely on his main body being able to act within the Death Megaverse’s territory. A living creature would be very easy to detect.

In the end, the skeleton clone would need to resolve most crises by itself.

Moreover, he had chosen this path so that his main body would serve as the focus of foreign attention while his skeleton clone acted without any attention. His path was dark, and yet he was striving for the light. If this clone could not walk free, this path would be cut off.

Several more years passed. One day, Lu Yin suddenly stopped and looked down at his hands. One held Stillness while the other held Activeness. When the two powers merged, they were able to create the Duality Seal. Since external powers could merge, then why not brand both of these powers onto his bones?

Great Golden Wings' final move, Black-Clad Bones, appeared in Lu Yin’s mind. That battle technique had fully integrated the Stillness within the bones of a skeleton, merging with the bird’s own body to unleash an attack that surpassed its limit.

If Great Golden Wings could do that, then so too could Lu Yin.

Before, he had branded the stars of the Cosmic Art onto his bones merely as a means of storing Stillness. He had not considered how to use it. He had to change his thinking.

Lu Yin sat down cross-legged and slowly calmed his mind. He stopped following Great Golden Wings. After all, his own path forward had already been paved with Stillness, so he would be able to immediately catch up whenever he chose. The distance between him and the skeleton bird was no distance at all given Abyssal Displacement.

Time continued to pass. Great Golden Wings drew closer and closer to the goal. In the blink of an eye, 100 years had passed.

Lu Yin had estimated that it would take about 200 years to fully pave the path connecting the broken section and the final destination. There was not much of that time remaining.

He moved. Stars revolved around him. He stretched out a hand and pointed forward, touching one star after another. Each star he touched gradually changed color, turning from black to white.

He was directly using Extremes Must Be Reversed on the stars of Stillness in his inner universe to transform the Stillness of an entire star into Activeness. After that, he incorporated the star back into his bones, forming a speck of white light. With each speck of white light that he added back to his bones, he also incorporated one star of Stillness, which became a speck of black light.

As for how they were arranged on his bones, he did not follow the pattern of the Cosmic Art, but instead the pattern of a sourcebox array.

This idea had occurred to him decades ago.
