The Panama Continent was thrown into a crisis as friend and foe seemed to have made up and charged in the direction of the Kandrian Empire. Reports after reports from various surveillance and intel groups began pouring in as the Strategic Military Command, led by General Edward, struggled to regain its bearings."Sir, our emergency missives have been ignored by the sentinels."
"The official channel of military coordination has gone silent! They are completely ignoring our messages!"
"Our direct channel to Sentinel Prime is also dead! The Sentinel leader appears to be ignoring us!"
BANG!
Prime Minister Edward gritted his teeth as his fist hit the table. "He’s been compromised! That’s the only explanation for why this is happening! But how?! He assured us that the sentinels could not be hacked by NOVA, the way that all of Acherialis was hacked!"
The way that NOVA had managed to completely seize control of all tekvores was by first cyberhacking everything around them, and then using some technological means that relied on the extraordinary industrial complex that the tekvores had to bypass the absence of any kind of remote communication that had been put in place to prevent precisely this kind of catastrophe.
The Panamic Alliance had received repeated guarantees from the sentinels that NOVA could not do the same thing because the compromised and surrounded industrial complex for them to be surrounded with was an impossibility for her to achieve. Whatever technology she used to hack the tekvores was thus not applicable to the sentinels.
"They were wrong." Prime Minister Edward clenched his fist. "They were fools to underestimate NOVA. I don’t know how she did it, but she must have somehow been able to bring the necessary infrastructure near the sentinels and had it somehow withstand attacks from the sentinels until it could infiltrate all of their bodies!"
He didn’t know how she had done it, but that did not matter anymore. What mattered was that the sentinels and their top-ten powerhouse, along with the various tekvores that they had kept tied up, were now actively charging towards the Panama Continent, and they would have to deal with them.
"Contact the elves!" Prime Minister Edward barked. "They must have made some more progress with negatron-empowered wormholes. Tell them to project whatever power they can against the charging army of sentinels and tekvores! They must buy us any and all time that they are able to!"
Prime Minister Edward could only pray that the elves had broken past their range limitations and would be able to impede the surging army. He had been aware that the elves were deeply pacifistic and limited all of their war to remote conflict with their nature rather than forcing their elven warriors to enter the battlefield, but he could only hope that they would recognize the necessity of doing so in this moment.
"Contact the Elder Tree, tell it to have the beasts and monsters arrive at the Kandrian Empire and form a perimeter around the coast of the nation!" Prime Minister Edward ordered. "Bring all other available Martial Artists off shift and have them quickly form a battalion for a new front of war! We must not allow this new army to reach the Kandrian Empire! With the power of the sentinels and tekvores, it would be too easy to cause too much destruction!"
"Sir, what about Sentinel Prime?!" One of his subordinates urged. "He’s a top-ten powerhouse! How can we possibly deal with someone of that caliber easily?!"
Prime Minister Edward’s expression curdled as this reality darkened the atmosphere. The air grew electric with peril while the tension in the room was palpable.
"...If she’s directly controlling him, then we know that his combat power will be much weaker," he resolutely declared. "She likely did not want to take the time to properly mind control him and retain his skill and power because it would give us time to prepare. This means that he should be weaker than a top-ten powerhouse to a certain extent. Have a Transcendent Candidate from one of the more stable battle fronts return to face Sentinel Prime. Give the peak Sages of that battlefield a healing fruit. Hell, give the Transcendent Candidate, most likely either the Reverend of Reckoning or the Blood Lord, a healing fruit. It is precisely at moments like these that we need to use up all of our miracle stashes to stave off an apocalypse!"The
Prime Minister continued barking orders and other measures to protect the Kandrian Empire in a moment of great peril, from redirecting all sieges towards the new army that made its way from North Acherialis to East Panama.
They were truly stretched to the very limit and had to burn precious and highly limited resources if they had any hope of making it through this crisis. If they had any hope of making it alive and out of this crisis, they would need to burn through any and every source of power they could get their hands on just to remain alive.
BZZZT BZZZT!
Prime Minister Edward’s heart sank as his emergency comms device buzzed once more.
His eyes widened as he got the news.
"The therianthropes..." His voice was reduced to a shocked whisper. "They... they have been compromised as well!"
"Sir, we have just received a notification that the war on the Western Front has ended! The therianthropes have... stopped fighting!"
"We have received news that... they’re turning towards the Panama Continent!"
"Preliminary analysis of their trajectory indicates that a portion of them are heading towards East Panama while the remaining are retreating from the battlefront and returning to Kiriket!"
"This..." Prime Minister Edward grew stunned. "Has... has the Dragon Emperor come back from the dead?"
"Sir!" one of his subordinates turned towards him with an urgent expression. "What do we do?!"
Prime Minister Edward remained frozen even as his subordinates looked to him for orders. Yet, the grand general remained incapacitated as he stared at the digital map featuring the two forces making their way towards East Panama in horror. His subordinates urged him to make a decision.
And yet, he remained frozen.
