This was despite the fact that he had gained high proficiency with hyperdimensional maneuvering. The arakai had clearly understood that he had used higher-dimensional principles to escape from the interdiction field of the Colton Star System last time. They would not make the same mistake a second time. The web that the Divine Mother had woven was constructed from law-altered substances. Perhaps it was because he had studied so much String Theory lately, but he instantly understood what laws were altered to produce what effects with a single glance.
"This web... it binds the Calabi-Yau manifold shut!" Rui’s ethereal eyes widened with alarm.
In other words, not even hyperdimensional maneuvering would allow him to escape the shackle that the Netweaver had prepared for him. Under no circumstances could he allow the web to bind him; he immediately tried to escape from her approaching body.
But the other four Divine Mothers held strong, refusing to let him go anywhere. The Shredder continued to rip flesh from his muscle and bones, while the Webslinger and the leader continued to bombard his body with intensely destructive attacks.
The Mindstitch drew all of the effort from his Martialverse. While all of their Webverses collectively paralyzed his Administrative capacity, even as the Mindstitch searched his memories for the method of Administrative impunity. Rui spontaneously created a new technique with the Forge of Creation, one that allowed the locations of his memories in his mind to constantly change in response to her infiltration, making it extremely difficult for her to get what she wanted in a short amount of time.
Rui unleashed everything he had to offer as each and every single Realm of his power was pushed to the very limit.
But the five Divine Mothers holding him down were chosen because they, too, were strong. Maybe he could defeat them one on one, or just maybe he could even barely take on two of them. But five of them in a coordinated attempt to suppress him was too much even for him.
Yet, just before the Netweaver could fully seal him, something changed.
WHOOSH
Two new presences emerged behind her.
Unfamiliar presences.
The Netweaver’s six eyes widened with alarm, but before she could turn around, they had already struck.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!
A devastating impact from two powerful attacks ravaged her body, causing her six eyes to flash with pain, her pincers clashing against each other in agony. The blunt force impact of a hammer permeated her entire body, causing her body to hemorrhage internally.
In contrast, the superluminal laser beam was much more focused.
It pierced through her back, penetrating her body and emerging from the front, where it shot towards the Mindstitch who had been absorbed in Rui’s mind.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!
"Rgh!" The Mindstitch shuddered as the laser beam scorched the front side of her body with enough heat to melt the surface of a planet, causing her Webverse infiltration of Rui’s mind to halt.
The other three Divine Mothers were also shocked by the appearance of two new entities, causing the pressure they were exerting on Rui to momentarily halt.
That was all Rui needed.
WHOOSH
He disappeared from the web of battle that suppressed him, emerging behind the two new presences on the battlefield.
To say that his body was in bad shape was an understatement. Most of his flesh had been shredded off. Flesh that he rapidly recalled to himself to stitch himself back together with Weaving Blood. His bones had been broken to fragments under the weight of the onslaught of his attacks.
His mind, which had been infiltrated by the Webverse of the Mindstitch, pulled itself back together as he quickly healed himself, wearing a stunned expression. As if he himself couldn’t believe that he had managed to get out of that.
He was this close to pulling out his ultimate trump card.
His attention turned towards the two new presences who had saved his life with a mixed expression. On the one hand, he was annoyed that they had waited this long to come save him. On the other hand, only thirty seconds had passed since the battle began. And they did ultimately save him, so he wasn’t going to throw a fit over it.
"Argenton. God’s Hammer. I’m glad you’re here."
The two of them had changed a lot. Argenton’s entire body was completely overhauled. His silvery crystalline body was completely gone, replaced with a silver... light.
Solid light. This had been his main mode of attack in the past, and now he had made his entire body out of the same solid light, except for his brain, which remained the same prismatic lattice that it was.
With a single glance, Rui could tell that the laws of his body were extremely altered. Much more than even what Rui had done with his own body. The efficacy of his Legislation was still much higher than Rui’s despite Rui’s Legislative Mode. He was specialized for Legislation, after all, while Rui was merely altering the orientation of his cognition in that direction. It was no surprise that he was a better Legislator and had done more.
The power and sense of threat that he registered in Rui’s mind was on par with a basic Transcendent. Rui wished he was a bit stronger, but there was nothing that could be done about that.
God’s Hammer was considerably larger than both Rui and Argenton, and it was infested to the very limit with truly powerful Transcendent-grade esoteric technology, which was perversely powerful by itself, and had become even more powerful with Dwight’s Legislation.
He had a lot of questions, but now was not the time.
"The five of them are our opponents, but if you guys can take on at least one together, I will be grateful," Rui said in a serious voice. "I’ll figure out the rest somehow."
Argenton’s expression crumpled at those words, but he simply nodded silently. In truth, the horrifying aura of power that each of the five Divine Mothers radiated was intense enough to send chills across even his solid light existence.
These were the Divine Mothers in the upper echelons in the hierarchy of combat power among their peers. They were on a whole other level compared to a brand-new baby Transcendent like Argenton, who had no experience against other Transcendents yet.
God’s Hammer was even more indignant at Rui’s words, but understood the truth they held. He had charged the attack that he had struck the Netweaver with every ounce of power his mech frame could muster, but the Netweaver had already shaken off their ambush, having healed herself in the blink of an eye.
The five furious Divine Mothers drew closer, confronting the three Transcendents of Gaia as the very fabric of reality bent under the weight of eight Divine Mothers.
