Yet, try as she might, her defense simply faltered. With the Gene Realm, he could simply increase output at the cost of passive defense, since she couldn’t land a single blow on him with all the hurdles she was unable to overcome. It made each of his attacks that much heavier than before, causing her body to be bruised to an even greater extent.
BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM!!!
Each blow to her body left her wounded and bruised, checkerboarding her body with more and more damage with each blow. Her defenses were phenomenal; virtually any other Martial Artist would have died from the onslaught that he had inflicted on her, but her ability to absorb damage with her body by rolling with attacks was sublime. Her motions had achieved a level of mastery that he couldn’t touch even with Soul Retcon, but that alone would not be enough with all the advantages he had accrued in the foundation of his existence.
He could sense his daughter double-take as he mobilized the Tide of Samsara, launching a poison blow at his wife. An attack that could end the battle then and there. Amare’s amber eyes sharpened at the sight from within her turtled-up guard. That poison had paralyzed Divine Mothers; if she allowed it into her system, it was game over.
Moments before his attack could strike her, her Martialverses bloomed with power.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!
A catastrophic impact blew Rui away, sending him flying across the battle arena. He skidded across the floor, eventually burning his momentum away into the environment, before glancing at the arm that had thrown the poisonous attack at him.
It was gone, splattered into thin air, reduced to atoms.
Yet, his expression was calm. He simply shifted his gaze towards Amare, whose very existence became akin to that of a goddess who had descended upon the realm of mortals from the heavens above.
Her daughter gasped at the power that Amare displayed. Not just because it truly made her feel like she belonged to a higher plane of existence, but also because she appeared to have figured out the truth. "...Two Martialverses! But how...?"
Rui couldn’t blame her surprise or her awe. Until he had seen for himself, he hadn’t even considered that the corporeal consciousness could break through to Transcendence at the same time. Instead of lingering on the thought of his vaporized arm, however, a smile emerged on his face as he stared at his wife with triumphant eyes.
"So you admit defeat in the non-Transcendent aspect of the battle, then?" Rui’s tone was smug and playful.
Amare glowered at her beloved’s words, but didn’t deny them. Neither of them had started out with Martialverses blazing since they wanted to test their foundational power before whipping out the big guns. And also, whoever was forced to use their Martialverse first was essentially conceding that their foundational power was weaker than the others.
Amare wasn’t pleased to make that concession, but against Rui, she simply had no choice. His Martial Body, nay, his Martial Existence was simply built different. His existence was filled with so many Realms of power, so many ranks and sub-ranks, and new Realms, that she simply couldn’t compete.
Things like the Gene Realm and the Hyperdimensional Realm- how could one possibly convert such lopsided odds favorably? In fact, she felt a certain strange tinge of pride in being able to keep up with him in battle for as long as she did when he was two Realms ahead of her.
"I may have lost the battle, but I have not lost the war." She took her stance once more, this time suppressing everything around her, save for Rui. Ria felt truly insignificant in the face of such power, as insignificant as an ant as Amare’s Martialverses spread across the information dimension. It was a power that could very easily be mistaken as true divinity, and her mother had two of them stacked on top of them of each other.
Together, they were extremely dense and powerful, unwilling to yield even in the face of the Webverses of the other Divine Mothers, indomitable and proud. Such was the power of a Martial Transcendent who effortlessly killed a Divine Mother immediately upon entering a battle.
Rui simply smiled with anticipation before inhaling.
Almost immediately after, the vaporized arm she had destroyed after breaking through was reconstituted in the blink of an eye. Even though the arm was destroyed, the fundamental particles comprising the arm still existed. And more importantly, they were Legislated matter, so he could easily restore them to his body through the higher dimensions with a single breath.
WHOOSH
His arm was restored in an almost cartoonish fashion, rapidly reconstructed out of thin air in a single wave. He took his stance one more time.
This time, his Martialverse blazed with power.
And this time, it was he who charged at her, going all out with every ounce of power he had. A bull rush that even Martial Transcendents would have struggled to resist. In the blink of an eye, he arrived before her with an almost instantaneous charge, propelling himself through the higher dimensions.
Only to find himself face to face with an attack that came from the future.
An attack that escaped his awareness.
An attack that came from the future.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!
The fist struck his jaw, shattering it in the blink of an eye. The force with which it struck contained not only the power that she poured into the attack but even the momentum that Rui charged with. All while simultaneously catching him more off-guard than any other attack had in the past decade.
It was such a devastatingly one-sided attack that he almost lost control of his body as it flew away from the force of her attack, barely managing to catch himself in time. His ethereal eyes widened as he stared at the love of his life, grinning at him like a demon as she launched herself at him.
In just the blink of an eye, Amare managed to turn the tables once the battle entered its Transcendent phase.
