“You damn brat!”The Black Tower Lord yanked out the [Soul Requiem Sword] embedded in his shoulder and unleashed a massive sword made of demonic energy.
Fwoooosh!
Raon twisted his ankle and dodged to the right, but identical swords rained down immediately after. Each blade was thicker and larger than the pillars of a fortress—there was little room to evade.
‘It’s not just the size.’
The massive black swords radiated lethal intent. One cut from them, and he could end up cursed beyond recovery.
Fwoooosh!
Raon gave up on continuing his offensive and stepped back using [Supreme Harmony Steps].
“How can the likes of you…?”
The Black Tower Lord looked at his bleeding shoulder in disbelief, as if he hadn’t considered the possibility of being injured.
“As I said, I’m not weaker in terms of strength.”
Raon exhaled deeply, eyes resting on the burning [Heavenly Drive] and the frost-covered [Acron].
‘So this is the power of the Demon Kings’ Authorities.’
To kill the Black Tower Lord, Raon had unleashed all of the Demon Kings’ Authorities—excluding Wrath. Normally, his body wouldn’t be able to withstand it, but Zircon’s trait [Stability] made it possible.
‘I can’t hold out for long… but I can fight.’
His body and mental state were in tatters, but he couldn’t miss this chance. He had to crush the Black Tower Lord here.
‘Focus.’
Now was the time to remain calm.
The duration he could maintain this strength was short, but panicking wouldn’t help. In dire moments, he had to calm his heart and control his urgency.
“Haaah…”
He layered [Sloth] over the flames of [Ten Thousand Flames Cultivation], engraved [Envy] into the chill of [Glacier], and imbued [Gluttony] into the [Soul Requiem Sword] launched with [Garunua] and [Heavenly Thunder Art].
Lastly, he balanced it all by igniting [Lust] within his own body—harmonizing the powers with equilibrium.
Ruuumble…
The Demon Kings’ Authorities pressed down on him. Unlike Wrath, these were emotions he didn’t typically wield, making the pressure even more intense.
But the spiritual refinement of the [Ring of Fire] and Zircon’s [Stability] barely kept him standing.
[You… what are you…?]
Zircon stared in stunned silence, never imagining Raon would wield not only Wrath’s Authority but the others as well.
-You’ve got something going for you after all. To handle all that power…
Wrath narrowed his eyes, seemingly impressed by Zircon’s trait.
[Th-thank you!]
Zircon widened his eyes in delight at the praise.
-I wasn’t praising you. Shut up.
Wrath, despite having praised him, smacked Zircon on the head as if displeased.
[Kugh…]
Zircon winced and lowered his head, shoulders trembling from the spiritual pain.
“Die!”
The Black Tower Lord snarled, stretching out his hand. Countless thorns burst forth, aiming to pierce Raon from every direction.
‘Zircon, maintain this state.’
Raon told Zircon to keep stabilizing him, then charged forward using [Supreme Steps]. With [Lust]-enhanced body control, his imagined movements became reality.
Swoosh!
With a twist of his ankle and shoulder, he avoided all the demonic thorns and closed in on the Black Tower Lord’s left flank, slashing down with [Heavenly Drive] infused with [Sloth].
Vmmmm…
The [Demon Lord’s Robe], not yet fully regenerated, blocked the attack—but it couldn’t withstand the weight of [Sloth]. The scorched blade tore it in half.
Fwoooosh!
Through the torn robe, a black wind of demonic energy blew out.
‘That’s…’
Just inhaling it made Raon’s spine crawl. It carried a deadly curse that could kill with a breath.
‘Wind against wind.’
Raon countered the black wind using the tempest embedded in the [Soul Requiem Sword] through [Garunua], and charged forward.
He raised the [Heavenly Drive] to use [Silver Lotus Dream] and brought down Acron with [Crimson Flame Flash – 36 Crimson Slashes].
Clang!
The Black Tower Lord blocked with a concentrated demonic shield, but he couldn’t withstand the force and was slammed back into the frozen Gate to the Devildom.
‘I have to stay close.’
He had to prevent the Black Tower Lord from getting enough space to chant high-level magic or perform rituals.
Ssshhh!
Raon broke through the air and closed the gap again, applying the twin-blade techniques he had learned from Cheryl to pierce through the Black Tower Lord’s magic and slash at his demonic energy.
Slash!
A series of chilling sword strikes followed. Small wounds began accumulating on the Black Tower Lord’s body.
“You cockroach bastard! Just die already!”
Enraged, the Black Tower Lord exploded with demonic energy and hurled Raon backward despite the aura enveloping him.
“Huff…”
Raon wiped the blood trailing from his lips and furrowed his brows. A single glancing blow from a peak transcendent had caused internal injuries.
‘What just… wait?’
As he lifted his gaze, he noticed a massive temple floating behind the Black Tower Lord, veins bulging on the man’s forehead.
‘A temple…?’
A pure white temple with ten towering pillars at its entrance—and a dreadful demonic energy surged from within.
“I’ll kill you.”
As the Black Tower Lord clasped his hands, his demonic energy erupted and crashed down upon Raon.
Kuwaaaaaang!
Raon tried to block with a wall of flame and frost, but the sheer force made his arms and hands feel like they were breaking.
[Peridot’s trait is <Chaos>. Her energy is making his demonic energy run wild.]
Zircon shook his head, saying the temple belonged to Peridot.
[That demonic energy won’t be easy to stop now.]
‘Why didn’t you say so earlier?!’
-Exactly! Why the hell didn’t you say anything!
Wrath bared his teeth and glared at Zircon.
[W-Well, you told me to shut up…]
Zircon shrank his head, looking pitiful.
-Just use your judgment! Does your brain have spaghetti in it?!
Wrath flicked his finger against Zircon’s forehead.
[Hmph…]
Zircon sniffled, too afraid to retort.
‘Well, I know now, so fine.’
Raon slashed through the rampant demonic energy with the [Heavenly Drive].
Kuwaaaaaang!
Though the blade carried [Sloth], the demonic energy was so intense it pushed him back—his arms and body shaken by the impact.
‘I’m being overpowered…’
Now that the Black Tower Lord had unleashed Peridot’s trait, Raon was losing ground again.
‘I can’t collapse here.’
Gritting his teeth, Raon drew out every last drop of the Demon Kings’ Authorities he hadn’t yet tapped.
Crack-crack-crackle!
Even with the [Ring of Fire] resonating, his body cracked and his head throbbed with unbearable pain. He felt like his breath was coming in broken pieces.
‘Still… with this power…’
He charged forward and slashed through the out-of-control demonic energy.
“You lunatic…!”
The Black Tower Lord’s eyes bulged, never imagining his enhanced magic would be cut through.
“Let’s finish this. We’ll see who dies first.”
Raon declared, stabbing toward the man’s heart while shattering his demonic energy.
“Fine! I’ll pierce your skull with a demonic blade!”
The Black Tower Lord enveloped Raon in hellfire as they clashed.
Kuwaaaaaang!
Blade and magic collided, sending waves of black light cascading across the dark sky.
—
Vmmmmmm!
Chamber had sent the Black Tower Lord’s absolute spell [Black Ocean Meteor] to another dimension and returned to the sky.
“What?”
Raon was pushing him back?
She had hurriedly taken care of the meteor, yet Raon was the one pressing the Black Tower Lord, even though the man had grown stronger.
‘Even after awakening Peridot…’
The Black Tower Lord, with the white temple behind him, was unleashing a demonic onslaught. Even at full power, she would’ve struggled to block that. And yet Raon not only blocked it—he counterattacked.
‘Unbelievable.’
Last she saw, Raon couldn’t even break through the [Demon Lord’s Robe]. Now he was shredding it and threatening the Black Tower Lord directly. To have evolved this much in such a short time—it was beyond belief.
‘What power is he using?’
Raon’s swords and body weren’t just fueled by aura. She didn’t know what it was, but it clearly opposed demonic energy.
‘Where did he… no, this isn’t the time to wonder.’
Raon’s power couldn’t last long. They had to end it now, while he still had the advantage.
“Raon! I’ll cover you—go in!”
Chamber shouted toward his back, ripping away a falling bolt of demonic lightning.
“Haaah…”
Though dizzy from diverting the meteor, watching Raon reignite her fighting spirit.
Clang!
Trusting her completely, Raon ignored the lightning and brought down both swords on the Black Tower Lord.
Clang!
The man blocked the strikes with hellfire and frost, but Raon had anticipated this—he unleashed the [Soul Requiem Sword] from behind.
Paaang!
Wreathed in wind and thunder, the sword ripped through space and struck the Black Tower Lord’s waist.
Clang!
Though he raised a wall of demonic energy in time, the shock sent him staggering.
“That tickles. You’ll never kill me with those swords.”
The Black Tower Lord claimed no damage and unleashed another wave of demonic power. The expanding spheres engulfed Raon’s aura.
“That’s a lie!”
Chamber shook her head and erased the incoming wave.
“The Black Tower Lord blinks when he lies! Your sword definitely hit him!”
She encouraged Raon while focusing on defense.
“Silence!”
The Black Tower Lord, irritated, roared and hurled a spear of demonic energy at her.
“Keep going, Raon! I’ll handle this!”
Chamber formed another spell with her fingers—willing to trade her life for this final strike.
‘Even if it costs my life…’
—
“Guh!”
The Black Tower Lord bit his lip as Raon charged like a raging bull.
‘What the hell is this guy…?’
Raon wielded a mysterious power that overwhelmed even the demonic energy he had amplified with Peridot. It was incomprehensible.
‘But he can’t maintain that power for long.’
Raon’s body was soaked in sweat—he was consuming immense mental energy. If he could just stall, victory would be his.
‘But…’
Lasting that long was the problem.
Despite his monstrous strength, Raon’s swordsmanship remained sharp. If this continued, Raon’s blade would pierce his neck before his power ran out.
“How far are you running?!”
Raon’s cold eyes flashed as he dashed left. Blades wreathed in flame, frost, and thunder rained down like a storm.
Crash-crash-crash!
The Black Tower Lord barely deflected the flurry, falling back. Even behind magical shields, his skin felt like it would tear and bones snap.
‘But his swords are starting to dull.’
Raon’s sharp swordplay was fading—overwhelmed by mental fatigue. He was now just pouring out raw power. The perfect time to counterattack.
‘Then all I have to do is remove her.’
Chamber was exhausted, her energy center damaged. She likely couldn’t use another final spell. If he summoned another meteor, he could kill Raon and end this battle.
Vmmmmmm!
With his left hand, he drew a defensive formation. With his right, he activated the spell [Black Ocean Meteor].
Ruuuumble!
Five massive meteors of black flame tore through the sky, crashing toward Raon and Chamber.
“Raon! Trust me—go forward!”
Just as he predicted, Chamber said she would handle them and began forming a spatial magic circle.
‘Perfect.’
Now I only have to deal with Raon Zieghart.
Chamber was occupied. If he struck now, it would all be over.
Ssshhh!
Raon didn’t even glance at the meteors. Trusting Chamber completely, he charged forward.
Clang!
Three swords slashed fiercely toward the Black Tower Lord’s neck and heart.
‘Now!’
As Raon drew near, the Black Tower Lord unleashed his power. The white temple collapsed, and a demon beast emerged—shrouded in darkness with a single eye and thousands of arms. It consumed his demonic energy and lunged at Raon with murderous intent.
Ssshhh!
Raon didn’t back away—even with thousands of cursed hands descending upon him.
‘It’s over.’
The beast couldn’t be maintained for long, but its hands carried a death curse. One touch would disintegrate body and mind. The battle was over.
Just as the Black Tower Lord smiled, believing in his victory—
Slash!
The space between him and Raon split apart, and the thousands of arms were sliced to pieces.
“Final Spell—Fracture of Emptiness.”
Chamber coughed black blood as she activated her final spell and shattered both the demon’s hands and the meteors.
“You damn witch!”
The Black Tower Lord screamed in disbelief and retreated—only for Raon, engulfed in black flames, to appear before him.
“You underestimated her.”
“W-Wait—!”
Ignoring him, Raon swung the [Heavenly Drive].
Slash!
The flaming blade cut vertically through the Black Tower Lord’s body, and the frost-covered [Acron] sliced horizontally.
Kuwaaaaaah!
The [Soul Requiem Sword] pierced the left side of the man’s chest and exploded with lightning.
‘Even with his neck severed and heart destroyed, he didn’t die. I must completely annihilate him.’
Raon threw the [Heavenly Drive] aside and thrust his open right hand forward.
Wrath’s Final Spell—
White Silver Aurora.
Pink frost bloomed like thorns over his outstretched palm. Wrath’s final spell, imbued with [Lust], erased the Black Tower Lord’s very existence.
Crackle-crackle-crackle!
