Chapter 892: Question

This chapter is updated by JustRead.pl

Back at the battlefield, Asher remained standing, his purple eyes unmoving from Arianna Haellight. But unlike him, who remained stationary, a staff member had already walked onto the stage, scooped up the unconscious Acker Holloway, nodded at Asher, then turned and walked away.

AlyxAtlas and Thomasinho floated down from the sky, their mics in their hands as they began to speak.

"People of Crymora, the final battle is upon us, but before that, let’s give a round of applause to Acker Holloway from the Vandross Empire for that spectacular performance," Thomasinho spoke.

At those words, people began to clap with smiles as they remembered everything that had happened.

"Truly, Acker Holloway is the definition of playing the pig to eat the tiger. He preaches about peace but possesses such terrifying combat power. Stacking his Blessing Form with the Green Flag was simply genius," AlyxAtlas followed up.

"Let’s not even talk about how he transformed those beads into meteors. And the final act of summoning a god onto the battlefield," Thomasinho added as he sighed in pure amazement at the display.

Although Acker had lost, he had put on such a ridiculous performance that even people who hated him began to see him in a new light.

"But, after seeing Acker Holloway’s true power, this begs the question, would the Ninth Sun, Thalric Wargrave, have won against such power? Would he have even survived after Acker activated his Blessing Form? What about the Green Flag too? How was he supposed to defend against the meteors? Not one, but eighteen," AlyxAtlas asked as she gazed at the live spectators below.

This was their job, to talk about spectacular performances. Although they would eventually talk about Asher, they would get to him in a minute.

At AlyxAtlas’ words, the crowd exploded with various opinions and arguments, many giving different points. Many screamed that with the power Acker had displayed, Thalric should be happy that the Buddhist had used the White Flag and hadn’t bothered fighting head-on.

Some rejected the statement entirely, citing the fact that Thalric never got the chance to display his full strength and power. After all, each student had fought every Beast or Monster with reserved efforts in order to conserve strength, stating that whatever had been shown during the Qualifiers Round couldn’t be used as a proper comparison.

Some referenced the fact that Thalric had once simply decayed an entire zone and had even held back at the time so as not to decay everything students of existence. Many argued that Thalric’s Decay ability could decay anything, both the meteors and the weak-ass god that had descended only to be decapitated.

They argued that just as Issac had an Ultimate State, and Acker had his Blessing Form, then surely Thalric had his own trump card. After all, it was normal for people to possess trump cards.

Acker, who had suddenly gained a fanbase, argued with Thalric’s fanbase back and forth.

Some people pulled out the ultimate card by saying Thalric was a Wargrave, and no Wargrave had ever lost to anyone of their own generation. Another group simply countered by saying there was a first time for everything, and Thalric would be that first time.

The live spectators, seeing they weren’t getting anywhere with this, immediately turned to AlyxAtlas and Thomasinho, who were floating in the sky, as they all suggested that after the tournament, they should create a separate round where any student who wished to fight another student could challenge them, provided they were from another Empire. This way, so many unresolved grudges could finally be settled.

As for Thomasinho and AlyxAtlas, they simply watched as the argument went back and forth as though they weren’t the ones who had lit the flames.

As the situation died down, Thomasinho spoke into his microphone, "Too bad we’ll never know who is stronger between the two, and as for your suggestion, that is left to the organisers of the Inter-Empire Competition. We are merely commentators; we have no power." He shook his head at the last statement.

"Speaking of power, let us talk about someone who possesses it in immense abundance, Asher Wargrave," AlyxAtlas spoke, her voice gradually rising. "He has fought every single student up until this point without taking a single break. He has fought every single student without taking a single point of damage. Not even the smallest cut has grazed his skin. He has fought every single student without a single drop of sweat leaving his pores. A man who, instead of defending against eighteen fucking meteors, chose to unleash a Rapier Technique that rendered us all blind!" Her voice blasted through the newly installed speakers.

At her words, the crowd erupted into another round of chants and cheers, throwing Acker and Thalric to the back of their minds.

"And now, we’ve come to the final matchup, the ultimate battle. Will Arianna Haellight, daughter of the Black Disaster of the Velkarin Empire, truly live up to the expectations? Can she live up to all the hype surrounding her? Can she match Asher Wargrave, son of The One Above All of the Zarethorne Empire? Will she meet our expectations, or will she fall from the pedestal she has built for herself?" Thomasinho roared into his microphone.

The crowd roared with anticipation powerful enough to kill.

"But alas, your anticipation will have to wait for two hours," AlyxAtlas spoke. "For the sake of absolute cinema, and since this is the final round, the organisers have given Asher Wargrave two hours of rest to recover his stamina and replenish his already-spent Astra Energy." AlyxAtlas finished with a shake of her head.

"BOOO!!!" "BOOO!!!" "BOOOO!!!" "THE DOMINATOR DOESN’T NEED BREAKS!!!"

Asher shifted his eyes toward AlyxAtlas and Thomasinho before speaking, "I’m fine, let’s begin immediately," his tone calm.

Although he had been fighting for over three hours now, Asher wasn’t tired. His stamina was monstrous. As for his Astra Energy, while he wasn’t back at one hundred percent yet, it didn’t matter. Virelass still held thirty percent of his reserves, and that thirty percent alone was greater than what the average person could hope to possess in their entire lifetime.

"Unfortunately, that decision is left to the org—" As Thomasinho was speaking, he paused as though he were receiving some sort of instruction through telepathy.

After a few seconds, he spoke again, "It seems rest can’t be forced upon a student if they don’t want it. You are allowed to begin immediately, as you wished," Thomasinho spoke with a smile.

Asher simply nodded, his eyes rising toward the sky once more.

Arianna Haellight’s calm expression broke into a small smile as she finally rose to her feet before taking a single step, plummeting from the sky and landing upon the obliterated battlefield with effortless ease.

"PEOPLE OF CRYMORA!!! ARIANNA HAELLIGHT HAS FINALLY STEPPED ONTO THE STAGE!!!" AlyxAtlas screamed as adrenaline coursed through her veins.

As the crowd went wild, Asher simply touched Worldshaper’s Relic, and the obliterated battlefield began to vanish as a new one rose in its place. Asher had simply reconstructed the battlefield from the second round: a city. Various high-rise buildings rose into existence, cars appeared scattered across the streets, and the two of them stood in the open.

Arianna Haellight exhaled ever so slowly, her hidden cultivation finally being revealed. The presence of a Radiant Firmstar Life Ranker poured from her. But the pressure she unleashed wasn’t something a Firmstar Life Ranker should have possessed.

Seeing this, Asher revealed his own cultivation as well. The presence of a Dust Firmstar Life Ranker poured from his body, his own pressure rising to meet Arianna Haellight’s.

Both stood at the Firmstar Life Rank, one at the beginning, the other at the peak.

As though understanding each other, they immediately lowered themselves into martial stances, their weapons still undrawn, as they stared into each other’s eyes, purple meeting amber-gold.

"Begin," Thomasinho’s voice rang out from above.
