Chapter 1000: The One Above All

This chapter is updated by JustRead.pl

The moment Azaron landed, Threshold I also landed on the ground and immediately closed the distance to press her advantage, her speed a blur, but Azaron could keep up with her this time due to his own enhancements.

Azaron tapped into his Nebula Affinity once more as, the next moment, gases bled into reality as his Astra energy surged outwards. The gases trembled violently as they combined with one another, as though they weren’t compatible for combination. Then, as they reached their threshold limit, every gas instantly erupted outwards with the force of a supernova, as though a Big Bang had been unleashed upon Crymora.

A cataclysmic, ruinous implosion tore through the world, covering everything within a ten-million-kilometer radius. Heat climbed towards a temperature no thermometer in existence could measure, everything was obliterated in every sense of the word, nothing survived, space cracked and shattered as Void bled into reality. It was as though reality itself was failing under the sheer destructive force.

This was Azaron’s skill called Supernova, which he created through the combination of various unstable, potent gases.

Threshold I couldn’t dodge in time. She couldn’t teleport as Space was unstable, and she couldn’t control the probability of such an attack hitting her to zero, as it was simply impossible to do so, as the attack was too potent and affected an enormously large area. If the attack wasn’t being controlled by Azaron, she could have taken over the explosion and remained uninjured, but alas, that was her limitation.

Azaron’s Supernova consumed her whole as she could only brace for impact as she used various elements like Light, Earth, Wind, and Cloud to protect herself, but Supernova erased them all.

Thousands of domes of explosions could be seen as they rose towards the sky for hundreds of meters. And by the time they vanished, and the smoke, dust, and churning clouds of cyclones disappeared, Azaron could be seen standing with a grin on his face. It had been a while since he had been able to unleash an attack of such scale.

Before him stood Threshold I, who had simply survived by continuously regenerating endlessly, unwilling to die in this battle. She stood on one leg, and that leg was made of nothing but bones, as her flesh, muscles, and veins had been erased. Her two upper limbs had been blown off, her jaw torn apart, as even her skull had been blasted open, her brain visible, while even her chest had been blasted open.

Yet, she remained alive. Truly, the vitality of Crownstar Life Rankers was immense and their pain tolerance sky-high, as even with damage of this scale, she remained alive and conscious.

Azaron didn’t stand to admire her. He immediately shot forward to end the battle before she could regenerate, but Threshold I wasn’t an idiot and immediately activated her [Freedom] ability and increased the atmospheric pressure to the highest pressure possible before slamming it upon him.

Azaron’s speed faltered a bit before his body immediately readjusted through his own abilities. But Threshold I already knew he would do this; her plan had never been to stop Azaron, but to slow him down, and with that done, she created her own Separate Dimension and vanished into it.

Azaron didn’t delay. Ender appeared in his hand as, the next moment, Void lit up across his spear, his hand snapping backwards like a bowstring before he launched Ender forward at a point in space as though the spear itself was a jawline. With a boom, Ender slammed into a point in space and cracked the Space as Void seeped into it, creating a spatial tunnel.

Without a shred of hesitation, Azaron jumped into the spatial tunnel, entering Threshold I’s Separate Dimension. The moment he did, he saw Threshold I floating in the air, fully healed and waiting for him.

Azaron shook his head as he had lost his opportunity to kill her. But it didn’t matter. Void spread across the sole of his foot, and without a shred of hesitation, he brought it down as he stomped the ground. The moment he did, the entire Separate Dimension cracked as Void exploded outwards, then the entire Separate Dimension collapsed in totality.

Both of them appeared within the world’s layer of reality yet again. The moment they did, Azaron snapped his fingers as he created an enormous dome of Void. The moment Threshold I felt the Void encompass her, she immediately felt it in real time, her body being degraded and erased while her Astra energy was being siphoned.

She didn’t delay and immediately teleported away, not daring to stay as her senses only sent death warnings about the Void. But the moment she moved, Azaron teleported through the Void itself. He appeared beside her, his spear tearing into her stomach with merciless force, her stomach tearing open as the spear burst through her back.

Threshold I frowned. She had devised a way to sense Spatial Manipulation, but now Azaron had pulled out Void travel. Indeed, Azaron had anticipated she would create a method to sense and react to spatial maneuvers, which was why he never used Void traveling until now.

Azaron didn’t draw Ender back. The weapon simply vanished and appeared in his hand again as he moved to end Threshold I. But Threshold I was nothing if not a cockroach in human skin. Astra energy erupted from her body as, the next moment, the Time particles in the air trembled and obeyed her command.

Time was a Law of Reality, so why shouldn’t she control it if the particles existed?

The next moment, Time froze around Azaron as his movement immediately came to a complete stop, as Threshold I halted every Time particle around his body, freezing him in place. While simultaneously healing the hole in her stomach, she acted, her hand covered in Light as she tore through his chest, aiming for his heart.

Flesh parted as Azaron could do nothing but watch, then her hand tore through his heart as her hand burst out through his back with sickening ease. Blood rolled down her hand and Azaron’s body.

Blood rolled down from Azaron’s lips and nose as Threshold I and he stood there together, motionless for a moment. Threshold I remained with her hand inside him, then blurred backwards as she released her control over Time, as manipulating Time particles simply cost too much Astra energy and siphoned even more with each passing moment she kept Azaron frozen.

Azaron jumped backwards the moment Time was unfrozen. He stared at his chest, where his heart was supposed to be.

Threshold I stood silently as though taking in the sight of Azaron dying before her very eyes. She wanted to see what he would do or say.

But the next moment, she frowned. There was something that was supposed to be in her hand. She raised her hand and gazed at it, but Azaron’s heart that was supposed to be there wasn’t.

She stared at Azaron’s chest. The hole she had torn open was there, but Azaron’s heart was perfectly in place. She couldn’t help but wonder how.

The answer was frustratingly simple.

Since he was frozen in Time, Azaron knew he couldn’t exactly move, be it through Void or Space, as Threshold I had prepared for that. So, as Threshold I’s hand was about to tear through his heart after tearing through his chest, he manipulated Space and phased only his heart through her hand, while simultaneously putting her under the illusion that she had his heart in her hand.

Azaron was a man who had never used an illusion and had never created one since he had no need for them, but after seeing Asher use it, it had now paid off as he used it to survive.

And with that, his entire injury healed completely, the hole on his body snapping shut.

Threshold I didn’t delay. She immediately employed the same tactic as she closed the distance and froze the Time particles again. Azaron’s resistance was futile as he froze again; the same illusion and the method he had used to survive wouldn’t work anymore.

And so with that, Azaron employed an affinity he had never used before, something he simply never bothered to use against anyone as it was simply too dangerous.

Radiation.

Green radiation burst across his body as, the next moment, a huge green field, a Radiant Field, formed around him and Threshold I, who had closed the distance. The radiation resonated with the Time particles as it caused them to become excited and instantly become unstable.

Azaron was immediately freed from his stasis. The moment he did, Ender appeared in his hands once more as he moved, thrusting it towards Threshold I’s heart with wicked force.

Threshold I couldn’t dodge or teleport or do anything else, as the Radiation Field disrupted Space and Void alike. Threshold I could only watch her own sudden death as Azaron’s spear was merely two centimeters away from her heart.

At that moment, inspiration seemed to fill her mind, as the next moment, Astra energy surged through her body. She tapped into something she had never tapped into before as she approached death.

Fate.

Through Fate, she changed her own certain death, causing Azaron’s spear to miss her heart by just a couple of inches and tear through her chest instead, as she was immediately pinned to the ground.

Threshold I didn’t hesitate to escape. She had no more Astra energy, as controlling Fate had drained it all, and even her own Vitality and Lifespan had been taken as compensation. A Teleportation Scroll appeared in her hands as she immediately tore it in half before Azaron could do anything else, her body vanishing in a blinding white light.

And with that, she escaped with her life hanging by a thread as Radiation flooded her body.

Azaron stared at the place where Threshold I had been for a moment. Although she had escaped, he didn’t care. All that remained on his face was the wide smile of a satisfied beast.

And with that, the holder of the Nebula Affinity, The One Above All, Azaron Wargrave stood victorious.
