Asher’s figure could be seen tearing backwards, his body covered in injuries as ’Z’s Mad Katana Technique had torn through his Lightning Armor and Star Form like it was nothing. His body bounced off the charred land as he finally came to a stop after ricocheting a few times. The moment he came to a stop, he didn’t dare remain on the ground; he rose to his feet, his Lightning Armor still brimming with power as Star Energy kept it alive.Arianna appeared before him as she asked in a calm tone.
"Are you okay?" She knew he possessed the ability to heal, but when it came to fights, one could never know. After all, for all anyone knew, their opponent could possess the ability to cancel healing.
"I’m fine," Asher replied flatly as he wiped the blood that was flowing from his lips.
Arianna nodded and said nothing else as she focused her attention on the battlefield.
Before Asher even rose to his feet, Virelass had already healed all his injuries; that was just how swift his healing had become.
But at this moment, Asher’s thoughts were on the fact that ’Z’ had used purple Lightning. Not just any Lightning, but purple. Asher was suspicious of this. He had seen a few people who possessed the Lightning element, but none of them had Lightning that was purple, as Asher had come to conclude that the color was unique to him.
For ’Z’ to use it, it meant only one thing: ’Z’ had copied him.
And Asher knew this for sure because William, whose ability was to Copy, used purple Lightning whenever he copied his Lightning.
And indeed, Asher’s thoughts were correct. There were various copying abilities within Crymora, all of them working on different principles. William, for example, possessed an ability that only needed a touch, while coming with various restrictions. Arianna’s ability was also based on copying, but it came with broken additional abilities alongside a few restrictions.
’Z’s ability was called Mirror.
He could Mirror whatever element or force of an attack was being used against him as long as he could see it. But, unlike William’s and Arianna’s abilities that allowed them to continuously use what they copied, ’Z’s Mirror ability deactivated immediately after the battle.
Meaning, once his battle between Asher and Arianna was over, he would never be able to use Purple Lightning or any of their abilities again. So, he basically only used his opponents’ attacks against them, turning their own powers into weapons that could be used against them.
The smoke cleared, and through it, ’Z’s body came into view. A frown could be seen on his face; he had been injured, and it made him angry that a bunch of children below the Voidstar Life Rank had managed to injure him.
Of course, the only reason Asher had been able to injure him was because of Star Energy. If it wasn’t for that, Asher literally had no hope of injuring the man if he used his Astra energy based Song Of Virelass.
But alas, ’Z’s injuries weren’t fatal by any means. They were minor, far too minor to truly threaten him.
’Z’s eyes stayed on Arianna and Asher. They didn’t need to be told that the man’s smugness had vanished. The smile was no longer present, and the concept of holding back might no longer exist. While he might not kill them because of the order he had received, they would still feel pain.
Asher and Arianna could understand where the man was coming from. After all, imagine if Asher was sparring with Rachael, and Rachael actually managed to land an attack on him. This particular moment was no different from that.
Astra Energy hummed across the battlefield as the Astra Energy of a Voidstar Life Ranker came alive across ’Z’s body as he boosted himself with Astra Energy. The pressure immediately became heavier, his presence alone making the atmosphere around him tremble.
With that, the man took a step, his katana flashing purple towards Asher’s shoulder as he moved to sever his right hand from his shoulder. Asher couldn’t even follow it, as ’Z’s speed had touched an unprecedented level, one even his Accelerated Thought Process seemed to fail to follow.
And with that, Asher felt it in real time: pain.
Blood splattered into the air as his right hand soared into the air before hitting the ground with a thud, the sickening sound of flesh parting still echoing in the air like a bell. Without missing a beat, ’Z’ spun on his foot as he delivered a kick attack towards Asher’s temples.
The attack met Asher’s head, his head snapping sideways before his body shot sideways like an arrow from a bow. His body crossed the distance, his consciousness threatening to darken as the sheer force of the attack rattled his mind.
Asher twisted as he landed on his feet, Virelass already regenerating a new hand for him. ’Z’ had coated his katana in purple Lightning and cleaved through Star Form and Lightning Armor with it as though they were nothing yet again.
’Z’ snapped his attention towards Arianna, whom he had ignored earlier. But Arianna was already on the move as her Astra Energy boomed from her Astra veins; she didn’t dare hold back.
Black Hole.
The moment she activated the ability, a literal Black Hole appeared before her, sucking ’Z’ towards it with immense suction force. ’Z’ didn’t even hesitate, his Mirror ability activating as he immediately unleashed his own Black Hole, as he had no other attack at the moment.
And with that, the both of them seemed to enter a stalemate as Black Hole stood against Black Hole. Arianna, who seemingly possessed infinite Astra Energy while in World Embodiment State, simply poured more Astra Energy into her own attack.
The size of the Black Hole increased as the ground beneath their feet surged into it. But ’Z’ was a Noble and a Voidstar Life Ranker; the Astra Energy he possessed was by no means small, so he simply increased his own output, bringing the attack back to a stalemate.
Asher closed the distance in a blur, as he didn’t just stand at a distance watching. The moment he appeared, Virelass screamed for ’Z’s neck. But ’Z’ was nothing if not efficient; his head snapped towards Asher, his left hand following as he immediately did the impossible.
Black Hole.
Asher’s senses screamed with pure death as, before the Black Hole could fully form, he teleported out of the way. The moment he dodged, everything that had been in his former position was instantly sucked in, disappearing into the terrifying gravitational force.
Arianna immediately canceled her own attack as she, too, vanished in tandem. The moment she did, she appeared behind ’Z’ as she tapped into another of her skills.
Endless Seal Of The Damned.
’Z’ had been watching the Inter-Empire competition, so he knew what this skill did. The moment the familiar circle filled with unknown patterns appeared underneath his feet, he attacked before his Astra Energy was sealed.
From the sky, a beautiful purple Lightning Dragon descended upon him and Arianna in total calamity, his own Astra Energy scaling the attack with pure madness.
Arianna didn’t agree to move; she wanted to seal his Astra Energy by any means. So, she immediately created a familiar pink shield she had created during the Inter-Empire competition, then stacked it.
But unfortunately, it was useless as ’Z’s Lightning Dragon attack tore through the barriers as though they were paper. Then the Lightning Dragon collapsed upon Arianna.
Arianna’s body shook as the green armor on her body did its best to slow down the attack, while chains burst forth from her Endless Seal Of The Damned skill. But before the chains could seal ’Z’, the attack tore into Arianna’s body.
It coursed through her veins, organs, brain, everything. She gritted her teeth as she refused to scream for whatever reason. And with that, her concentration broke as the Endless Seal Of The Damned failed to activate completely.
