Chapter 1022: Ideas

This chapter is updated by JustRead.pl

"Youngest, any ideas?"

As Asher was lost in his thoughts, Wuthenya’s voice snapped him out of them. His purple eyes shifted towards her, meeting her green ones as he replied.

"I’m the youngest one here, how does the responsibility of coming up with ideas fall on me?" He asked, as he had nothing to suggest.

Wuthenya smirked as she replied, "As the eldest sibling here, I command you to come up with an idea," a smile resting on her face.

Hearing her words, Asher couldn’t help but roll his eyes. ’Eldest sibling, command my ass,’ he thought to himself, not daring to say it out loud. After all, beneath Wuthenya’s shirt and on her waist were various daggers. Who knew if she was going to stab him with one playfully?

As though reading Asher’s thoughts, Wuthenya took out a dagger from her waist. Placing it on her finger, she spun it playfully as she gazed at Asher with a calm and innocent expression.

Asher thought for a moment before he spoke, "Well, since none of us have a bow or arrow as our soul-bound weapon, how about some archery game?" He suggested.

"Nah, too boring," Xavian immediately stated. "How is shooting at some immobile object even fun? Might as well just go outside and swing my hammer at a tree instead," his tone flat.

"Who said it had to be immobile?" Asher asked, his body still leaning against his bedframe.

"We simply get one of the Crownstar Life Rankers, one that specifically uses a bow and arrow, to fly around some objects high in the air at a speed relative to each of our own base perception, just a notch over it or so," he spoke calmly. "Then, with each object flying through the air at a great speed, we shoot them down with our arrows, and we make it more fun by allowing the Crownstar Life Ranker to control the objects to the extent that he or she can make the object dodge an arrow depending on a few things."

He gave a basic idea, allowing everyone to see the general outline, and if they agreed, they would work out the details later.

Everyone fell into their thoughts for a moment as though considering the idea. But the next moment, Olivia suddenly spoke.

"While that might not be really boring, it will get boring after a couple of minutes. After all, with our hand-eye coordination, even if none of us have ever shot an arrow, we would simply get the hang of it later on," she stated, as though it was still a boring idea at the end of the day.

Everyone’s eyes turned towards Asher as though expecting him to come up with something good and add some insane details to the original plan. After all, it was already pretty good.

"Why are you guys looking at me?" he spoke with an exasperated tone. "I have no more ideas. Come up with something yourselves," he stated as though giving up entirely.

He didn’t deny Olivia’s words, as they were indeed true. Although none of them were familiar with the bow, but due to their insane senses, combat abilities, reflexes, supernatural physiques, and talents, they would simply gain a certain level of familiarity with shooting arrows, hence making the game a bit boring.

But what everyone had failed to consider was that since it was their first time, wouldn’t it be fun for everyone? Besides, even if they got the hang of the whole arrow deal, the Crownstar Life Ranker could simply increase the difficulty. Easy.

Hearing Asher’s words, everyone simply laughed at his minor frustration and shook their heads.

"How about we go horse racing? I saw that at the Thalvorn Empire, where a few people were betting on which horse would win," Ezekiel suggested as he stared at the ceiling.

Everyone simply shook their heads in disagreement.

"Everyone here is faster than any horse or Enduron horse on the planet," Thalric responded with a flat tone as he shook his head.

"Unless a higher-ranked Monster or Emovirae is a horse," Apollo mused aloud.

With that, everyone fell silent as it seemed as though there were no fun activities for them.

Wuthenya sighed as she spoke, "We might have to settle for Asher’s idea. If we suggest it to the Crownstar Life Ranker, they might even be able to make it more fun," her tone calm.

After a moment of thought, everyone nodded. If they thought of something more fun later on, then they would do it; if not, they would just stick to the archery game.

Asher couldn’t help but sigh internally. ’This is why many authors whose main characters reincarnate in settings like these simply turn them into robots instead of humans, simply making them jump from one fight to another, making them train every waking moment, making them carry cold expressions all the time. All that because they, the authors, couldn’t come up with anything fun for the main character to do aside from fighting and training,’ he mused to himself as he glanced at the window, lost in thought.

’Well... readers are part of the issue, as in the comments under almost every fantasy novel I’ve read, readers hate anything that isn’t action. Once an author includes a few slice-of-life Chapters, ones that are made to make things a bit normal, make the main character human, the readers simply complain and rant, asking the author when he or she would get to the next action,’ he mused to himself in silence.

’Then they complain that the story is just another action-filled slop, or the main character is a robot and doesn’t have or show emotions, while they were the ones who forced the author’s hand.’

He thought to himself, blaming authors and readers at the same time. While he loved the action and battles in his life, he also loved moments where everything was calm and cool. For example, moments like these.

His purple eyes turned towards his siblings, who were still trying to come up with fun ideas, and he simply smiled faintly.

As Asher was lost in thought, Thalric’s eyes shifted towards him, wondering what his brother was smiling and musing about. But he didn’t ask. He simply stopped looking at the purple-haired boy and joined the discussion his siblings were having.

"Although this is a sibling outing, Malrik won’t be joining us. He is a Crownstar Life Ranker; who knows what passive abilities he has and would use to cheat?" Olivia stated.

Xavienne nodded as she spoke, "I agree. With his Blessings of the Sun ability, who knows what he could do under the Sun during the game?" she added, stressing the issue.

Apollo hummed for a moment, then spoke, "But if we don’t include him, we won’t be complete, and it won’t be a full sibling outing, no?"

At his words, everyone stayed silent for a moment before Mary suddenly spoke.

"Well, he can be the one moving the shooting target through the air, or he can be the one officiating the game, like a referee. This way, he would participate," Wuthenya added.

Asher simply shook his head at Wuthenya’s words. ’I guess Elder Brother is always too strong for his own good,’ he mused to himself in silence.
