A few distances away from the Library, in Azaron’s study room, the man sat with a calm expression as he examined some papers in his hands, his eyes moving through them. During their time at the Thalvorn Empire, Zarek hadn’t exactly followed Azaron, as Azaron had left the man in charge to carry out duties that he, Azaron, should normally carry out, like stamping documents with the stamp of the Duke.Such things were no different from impersonating the Duke, and the punishment was simply death. But Zarek had that much power; that was how much he was trusted by the entire Wargrave family.
If that man ever ended up being a spy or something, then the destruction he could cause would be immense.
As he flipped through the pages, he suddenly stopped as he remembered the people he kept in his Separate Dimension. He waved his hand, space immediately bent, and the next moment, ten people appeared before him.
The moment they appeared, they seemed stunned for a moment at their sudden appearance. Seeing Azaron seated and staring at them, they immediately bowed and greeted him. After all, although they had spent almost one month with the man, it didn’t mean they had grown disrespectful.
"We greet the Duke," they all greeted at the same time.
"You may raise your heads," Azaron replied with a flat expression as he dropped the paper in his hands back onto the table and gave the people before him his attention.
The ten of them raised their heads as they looked around, their eyes dancing within the office as they recognized it instantly. After all, they recognized Azaron’s study room, as the man had invited them here before they took off to the Thalvorn Empire together.
"Since you all recognize my office, then I guess you’ve arrived at the conclusion that we’ve returned to the Zarethorne Empire," Azaron stated, his tone calm and flat.
Everyone nodded, as they had all indeed arrived at that conclusion. But they didn’t know how that was possible. After all, they knew heading to the Thalvorn Empire took a week. But the moment they thought about it, they immediately guessed the use of an artefact was in play.
As for the time difference, they knew that time within the Separate Dimension flowed together with time in the outside world. Which told them that only a couple of hours had passed since they saw their enemies and the moment they returned to the Zarethorne Empire, since they had spent only a couple of hours within the Separate Dimension.
None of them dared to ask about the enemies. How dare they question a Duke? The Primarch, no less. They could always ask any other Wargrave they were a bit familiar with.
"Arrangements would be made for each of you to return to your own territories and houses," Azaron continued. "I’m sure everyone has their own thing to handle," he stated in finality.
The moment he spoke, Zarek, who was outside, blurred out of existence. He knew Azaron had made no such preparations; it was simply his cue to go make the preparations. Within a couple of seconds, he blurred back into his position.
Everyone within the study room nodded. Although they would love to stay behind and remain at the Wargrave Estate to foster their relationship even more, they couldn’t. After all, they were Nobles; they had plenty of work to be done and documents waiting to be signed and read. Only heirs had the time to visit brothels and drink, not those who were already in the position itself.
"We, the family of the Rivelle’s, thank the Duke," Baron Rivelle stepped forward and spoke once more in a bow, his wife and children following.
"The Canestane family also thanks the Duke," William’s Father and Mother stepped forward too.
Finch’s family and Stravos also followed as they bowed and thanked Azaron. After all, the man had taken them all with him, protected them, and brought them back without a single scratch, despite them encountering some enemies on their way. Without Azaron, they would have had to watch the entire Inter-Empire competition from their homes.
Zarek immediately opened the door with calm ease. Seeing the door open, the ten of them bowed one final time and walked out with calm steps. Zarek closed the door and simply led them outside, while also sending a few maids and butlers to inform the Suns and Moons of these people’s departure so that anyone who wished to bid them farewell could do so.
---
Back at Asher’s room, the Suns and Moons were still discussing and laughing at each other, some bringing up anecdotes from when they were little. If anyone saw them, they would think they were just a bunch of peace-loving family members... but they were anything but that.
A sound resounded within the room as a butler knocked.
"Come in," they all said at the same time, as they were all used to maids and butlers knocking on their doors.
The butler stepped in and bowed as he spoke, "Sorry for the intrusion, Young Masters and Young Misses, but the Head Butler wishes to inform you all that the visitors are leaving, in case anyone wants to bid them farewell," his tone respectful.
"Huh? Stravos is already leaving?" Wuthenya spoke as she immediately vanished from where she floated in the air as though she had never been there.
"Thank you, we will be there," Ezekiel said, dismissing the butler.
The butler bowed and left without wasting a moment.
"I can’t believe I won’t get to see Rachael for a while," Olivia spoke as her feet touched the ground, then she walked out of the room.
Asher and the rest of the Wargraves followed as they made their way outside. Upon getting there, four sets of carriages could be seen, three for each Baron family and one for Stravos, each protected by at least one Crownstar Life Ranker and five other Knights.
Although the security seemed over the top, Azaron wasn’t taking any chances. He couldn’t afford safely getting them outside the Empire and back to the Zarethorne Empire, just for them to die on their way back home from his own Territory. It was best to protect them to the very end, like he had promised.
Olivia simply rushed towards Rachael and carried her up as Olivia wore a sad expression.
Asher’s eyes turned towards Stravos. Seeing the guy with white hair, Asher couldn’t help but reason that this guy might be overpowered. After all, in anime and novels, anyone with white hair was automatically overpowered.
The Barons and their families walked towards Asher, as he was the one they were most familiar with.
"It seems this is goodbye, Tenth Sun," Baron Canestane spoke with a calm expression.
"Seems that way," Asher replied with a smile.
Baron Whale’s eyes turned towards the Wargrave castle as he spoke, "It was an honor to be here... I never thought I would step into the Wargrave Territory, let alone enter the Estate," he stated.
Although he said that, he had entered the Estate when the Nobles of the Zarethorne Empire had gathered to discuss retaliation against the Vandross Empire for attacking eight Noble Households and invading the Zarethorne Empire.
Asher suddenly remembered something. He had told William, Finch, Ryaen, and Vaelric that he would invite them over, and they would spend the three days together before they returned to the Star Academy together.
Remembering that, he turned to Zarek, who was standing at the side, and gave an instruction.
"Uncle Zarek, can you prepare four invitations? Give one each right now to the Canestane and Whale families, inviting their sons and daughter, send the third to the Silvershade family, inviting Ryaen, and send the last to the Imperial Palace, inviting the Prince," he ordered.
"As the Young Master wishes," Zarek stated and immediately went to work, his body vanishing again.
Soon, he returned with two sealed envelopes and passed them to Baron Canestane and Baron Whale. They accepted them with smiles on their faces. Baron Rivelle could only click his tongue in jealousy.
Asher bade them a final goodbye as everyone climbed into their carriages and vanished into the Wargrave Territory.
