Chapter 1026: Ten Million Platinum Coins

Asher stared at them for a moment as he watched their silhouettes vanish into the distance. He sighed, then turned and walked back into the building, his siblings following behind him. Most of them hadn’t really said any goodbyes, as they weren’t particularly close with the Barons; they had only come to watch them leave, nothing else.

Since everyone had already stepped out of Asher’s room to see the departing guests, they all decided to simply head to their own rooms. As Asher walked, he couldn’t help but think about Lyra. Although he suspected that she might be out on a mission, he decided to still ask, but that would be when he met a maid or butler on the way to his room.

As he walked, he arched an eyebrow as he encountered Yveric within the hall, which was surprising, given that the man hardly ever left the Knight building. Asher simply guessed the man must have been carrying out an order from the Duke.

"Hooo!!! If it isn’t The Dominator," Yveric spoke as he came to a stop before Asher.

"Uncle Yveric, it’s been a while," Asher stated.

Yveric smiled for a moment as he replied, "Indeed it has, but I was just coming to meet you, as I was informed you were outside." His tone remained calm.

Asher arched an eyebrow as he asked, "What for?"

"The Duke wants to see you," Yveric answered.

Asher fell into his thoughts as he immediately understood that Azaron was probably calling him to give him the platinum coins and perhaps talk about details concerning the blood he had requested.

"Thank you, Uncle Yveric," Asher stated as he met the man’s black eyes.

Yveric smiled as he patted Asher’s shoulder. "No need to thank me. You’ve made the Wargrave name proud," a smile appeared on his lips as he continued, "I watched every battle, and it’s been a while since I was last surprised by someone from the younger generation or even felt my blood boil like that."

Yveric was simply loyal to the Wargraves through and through. Although he was approaching his retirement after serving two Primarchs, his loyalty remained unwavering. He couldn’t wait to see the kind of monster Asher would grow up to become.

Asher immediately remembered Lyra, so he instantly asked, "Uncle Yveric, is Lyra still on a mission?"

Yveric nodded as he spoke, "She is, but according to the intel from the shadow I put on her according to your orders, she would be back at the Estate in five days."

Asher nodded at the reply as he spoke, "thank you."

Yveric smiled again, then nodded as he walked past Asher. Asher had no choice but to turn and follow behind Yveric, as Azaron’s study room was in this direction.

A couple of minutes later, he arrived at Azaron’s study room. Zarek was standing at the door as usual. Asher nodded at the man before he pushed open the door and stepped inside. Azaron was seated in his usual position, his golden eyes falling on Asher.

"You called, Father?" Asher spoke as he walked in.

Azaron simply nodded and waved his hand. With that motion, a literal hill of platinum coins stacked upon each other appeared on the ground in a heap. It glittered and shone as light bounced off it, filling the room with a dazzling metallic radiance.

"Ten million platinum coins. Although it’s nothing compared to the total amount of money I won, I’m sure not many kids your age have ten million platinum coins to their names," Azaron stated as he gazed at Asher.

Earlier, he had already gone to the family vault and deposited billions of platinum coins there, saving them for wars and destruction, because during such times, prices of food and weapons would skyrocket to a mad degree.

"Thank you, Father," Asher replied with a smile. He waved his hand, and the next moment, the heap vanished from the ground and into his system inventory.

Azaron simply nodded, then spoke again, "I heard from Zarek that you are inviting a few friends for three days."

Asher paused at Azaron’s words for a moment. He couldn’t help but wonder if he should have taken permission from Azaron before inviting people to stay at the Wargrave family house for three days.

"Yes, Father. I promised to invite them over for a sleepover, as they had said they had never slept here," he replied, expecting Azaron to follow up with some words or something.

But the man simply nodded and said nothing else. It was just a building; why should he, Azaron, be bothered? If he was bothered about such little things, he would not have invited these people’s families to the Thalvorn Empire under the Wargrave name.

"About the End-class blood you requested, I won’t be able to get it immediately," Azaron spoke, his eyes returning to the documents on the table. "It would take a couple of days, maybe five days, but I will get it for you before you leave for the Star Academy in ten days," a small sigh escaping his lips.

He would rather be battling an End-class Monster or Rank 10 Emovirae than be here, going through paperwork.

’Should I create a Photon Clone?’ he thought to himself in silence, as that was one way to avoid the paperwork.

"I understand." Asher nodded his head as he spoke. He already had End-class Monster blood due to Virelass’s new ability, but anticipation stirred within him as he wondered what an original End-class Monster’s blood would involve.

"You may leave," Azaron spoke, his tone flat as the paperwork consumed his attention.

Asher remained standing for a moment in thought. ’Should I bring up the issue about him faking everyone’s death now?’ he asked himself as he stared at the man.

But after a moment, he gave up on the idea. He would ask later. Azaron was simply too busy at the moment and didn’t have time to spare.

’There is time for everything,’ Asher thought to himself. ’It’s not like I won’t see him tomorrow or next week. There is still plenty of time,’ he concluded.

With that, he turned around and stepped outside the study room. He nodded at Zarek and headed towards his own room with a smile on his face. As for why the smile was there, who wouldn’t smile when ten million platinum coins had just fallen into their laps?

Zarek simply stared at Asher as he walked away with a smile. He never took Asher for a money lover, but at the end of the day, no matter how powerful one was, they still needed money.

’Seems like yesterday when he had just awakened,’ he thought to himself as he remembered overseeing Asher’s awakening.

’Maybe I should just follow Azaron’s advice and try having a few children of my own,’ he thought to himself as he stood at the door.

After watching Asher’s display at the Inter-Empire competition, he was really tempted. Besides, his children would have access to every best thing, as he was sure every Wargrave and servant would dote on them.

After a moment of thought, he shook his head and chose to forget about the matter. He would have his own kids when Azaron retired. He couldn’t afford to split his attention between Azaron and his children, not when his duty still demanded his full attention.
