Chapter 1030: Scoreboard

This chapter is updated by JustRead.pl

Time continued to tick away as the Wargraves continued to rack up points. Malrik, who floated in the sky, was smiling and having the time of his life as he laughed his ass off. He was enjoying torturing them with the green objects and illusions; it was simply too fun.

’It was good that Wuthenya gave me this position,’ he mused to himself as he simply watched.

His eyes shifted to Asher, and he couldn’t help but wonder when Asher had started practising with a bow and arrow to be this good at it.

Celina, who was floating beside him, spoke, "It seems the Tenth Young Master is a natural when it comes to the way of the bow," a smile finally gracing her lips.

She couldn’t help but wonder how someone who trained with the rapier could be this talented with another weapon. As a Bow Master herself, she could tell it was the first time Asher was wielding a bow, let alone shooting an arrow.

’So it’s his first time, huh?’ Malrik immediately came to that conclusion as he understood Celina’s words.

A smile could be seen on his face; he was simply too proud of his brother. The family always welcomed stronger people into their ranks anytime.

Time continued to tick away as, the next moment, the fifteen minutes elapsed. Malrik didn’t wait for them to come out one after the other; he simply snapped his fingers, and his siblings found themselves standing at the weapon racks where they had taken their weapons from.

The moment they appeared, they couldn’t help but sigh and toss the bows and quivers onto the weapon racks.

"And here I was thinking bows and arrows were easy," Xavienne stated, not surprised at her sudden change in location as she knew it was Malrik’s handiwork.

"I don’t even want to see the points at this rate, we should just retire to our rooms," Xavian followed up.

As both of them were brutes who used a heavy hammer and a double-edged war axe, their archery skills had been nothing less than abysmal.

Olivia, who was standing at the side, replied with a small chuckle, "Maybe with this game, you will learn to stop looking down on those who use bows and arrows."

Apollo, who had been silent, turned to Wuthenya as he asked, "How many greens did you destroy?"

"Just three, Malrik was simply too wicked with his control," Wuthenya sighed as she spoke, sounding genuinely exasperated.

As the Wargraves were discussing amongst themselves, Malrik floated down with a smile on his face. Celina was nowhere to be seen. With her work done, she had returned back to her station. After all, each Crownstar Wargrave Knight had been assigned somewhere to protect just yesterday, and her Commander was covering her position, so she had to return immediately.

Seeing the smile on Malrik’s face, Thalric spoke, "I’m sure you had a lot of fun toying around with us."

Malrik smirked as he replied, "I was just following the rules. Don’t look at me because archery wasn’t as easy as you thought," he mused.

"Just show the scores already," Wuthenya spoke. She was sure she was at the top of the ranking.

Malrik shook his head with a light smile as he used Light Photons to create a scoreboard with everyone’s name and scores on it.

Staring at the scoreboard that Malrik had created, Wuthenya couldn’t help but arch an eyebrow, wondering how she had fallen so low.

Everyone checked their scores and rankings. Many of them were satisfied with it, as they had basically barely survived through the red flying objects. Like Xavian and Xavienne, for example, all they did was basically remain in a stalemate with the green objects, so they simply accepted their rankings.

"I got to sixth position?" Ezekiel spoke with a smile on his face. "That’s even higher than I thought," his eyes turning to Thalric and the twins as he spoke smugly, "At least I’m better than three of you," his tone taunting.

Xavian smirked as he clapped back, "If you really are better than us as you say, why don’t you bring out your stick and let’s go a few rounds?"

Xavian loved calling Ezekiel’s soul-bound staff a stick; it was one of the ways he always made fun of his brother. And with their affinities being opposites of each other, being water and fire, they ended up sparring many times, although it always ended with Ezekiel’s loss.

"I don’t have time to waste on someone who is last on the scoreboard," Ezekiel replied as he turned away as though he couldn’t give Xavian any more attention.

Apollo, who was standing beside them, turned to Asher as he spoke, "I didn’t know you were this good with bows and arrows," his tone calm. "Honestly, I thought I would come out on top," he added.

Asher simply shrugged as he replied, "I myself didn’t actually know. I just got the hang of it as the game progressed," his tone equally calm.

Wuthenya stared at Asher for a moment. She couldn’t help but suspect that Asher might have suggested the game because he was good with bows and arrows, but she said nothing. Even if she was right, her brother, Apollo, would have still been the original winner.

Asher’s eyes turned towards Wuthenya, who was staring at him suspiciously. He simply shook his head, wondering why these siblings of his were taking the game too seriously.

Malrik, who had been silently watching, spoke, "It seems everyone isn’t satisfied with their points and rankings," the scoreboard before him vanishing.

Xavian and Xavienne, both of whom seemed eager to do something they really loved instead of shooting a bunch of useless arrows, simply turned to each other. The moment their eyes met, they nodded, then turned and walked away.

Seeing them walk away, Malrik asked, "And where are you two going?"

Xavienne replied without turning, "We are going for a real spar, something to get our blood boiling, not us being harassed by some green objects and shooting some arrows."

At her words, nobody was really surprised, as these twins loved sparring with each other whenever nobody else wanted to spar with them. If it wasn’t for the Knights of their family being busy, they would have instead moved to spar with the Knights.

"Well, before you people go, I have a message from Father," Malrik stated flatly, his words causing the departing twins to come to a stop.

Seeing everyone turn their attention towards him, Malrik continued, "There will be a family dinner a week from today, so don’t go anywhere or do anything that day. If a plan comes up, cancel it."

His words caused everyone to arch an eyebrow as they wondered why their Father was suddenly gathering everyone for a family dinner. It had been an extremely long time since all of them had sat at one table to have a meal together, but it didn’t actually matter much to any of them. After all, one didn’t need to eat together to actually care for another person. So why their Father was suddenly doing this, they didn’t understand.
