Ryaen, who had been silent, couldn’t help but speak, "Now I know why you hardly order food from the Academy’s cafeteria," her stomach grumbling slightly at the aroma in the air left behind by the hot food."Now you know," Asher replied with a simple shake of his head. He walked to the TV, gaming console, and everything else, throwing them into his System Storage as he wasn’t leaving anything behind.
William, who was now lying on his own bed and waiting for 12 o’clock, couldn’t help but ask.
"Since the Ninth Sun is also a student, would he be joining us?" he asked.
Asher shook his head as he settled into his own bed, "If there was a carriage, he would join us, but all we have to do is just tear a piece of paper and we are there, so what does joining us even mean or do?" he asked.
William stayed silent for a moment before he replied, "I see your point."
Finch opened his mouth to speak, but before he could, another knock came from the door.
"Come in," Ryaen said this time instead of Asher, who actually owned the room.
The door opened as Zarek stepped in wearing his usual crisp black butler attire.
"Young Master, the Duke requires your presence," the man spoke the moment he entered.
Asher nodded as he rose to his feet. He turned to his friends as he spoke, "I will be back in a few minutes."
Vaelric and the gang simply nodded, and with that, Asher and Zarek headed towards Azaron’s study room. Zarek opened the door as usual, gesturing for Asher to enter.
The first thing that entered Asher’s sight was a huge wooden barrel that was about twelve feet tall, standing within the room. He didn’t need to guess to know it was the blood of an End-class Monster. He tore his eyes away from the barrel as he spoke to Azaron, who was sitting in his seat with a calm expression.
"I was starting to think you were about to fail at the first promise you made to me," he joked as he sat on the chair opposite Azaron.
Azaron simply chuckled with a shake of his head before speaking, "I just didn’t come back earlier because it turns out that there were two End-class Monsters in the same place, which is extremely rare," he explained.
’Two?’ Asher was stunned for a moment. After all, according to what he knew, End-class Monsters always had their own territories and were extremely territorial.
Azaron, seeing Asher’s surprise, simply explained, "It turns out that even Monsters can experience love, aside from motherly instincts to protect their new babies and stuff," he stated flatly.
Asher wanted to ask the man if he was okay. After all, taking on two End-class Monsters was no small feat. But seeing the man sit with the same posture and confidence as though nothing in the world could shake him, he didn’t bother asking.
"Although it was a headache, as both Monsters seemed to have been at the End-Class for about a century, it was still fun," Azaron continued as a smile appeared on his lips.
Asher nodded, not really asking for details. As long as Azaron was fine, he had nothing to worry about. Another person might have run away, but Azaron had instead taken on two End-class Monsters and come out alive.
"When did you return?" Asher asked.
"Almost an hour ago," Azaron replied as he rose to his feet, walking towards the barrel as he patted it. "No need to stand on ceremony, I’m sure you don’t have much time before you leave for the Star Academy."
Asher nodded as he rose to his feet. Virelass appeared in his hand, and he simply plunged Virelass into the barrel and allowed her to drink it all. Virelass siphoned the blood like a bottomless pit, and within a couple of minutes, she drank every single drop of blood.
Azaron nodded his head in satisfaction as his Void came alive and erased the barrel instead of calling someone to take it out.
With that done, he leaned against his table as he asked. "So, how were the past three days you spent with your friends?" he asked as his golden eyes stared into Asher’s purple ones.
A scabbard appeared in Asher’s hand as he sheathed Virelass and fastened her to his waist as he answered.
"It was fun, although once I’m back at the Star Academy, the fun ends and work begins," he stated with a soft sigh. "Besides, they wanted to meet you, and we even came here three days ago, but Uncle Zarek said you weren’t available," he added.
Azaron nodded as he replied, "I wasn’t, I went to hunt for the End-class Monster." He paused for a moment, then continued, "Anyway, since your friends are here, I might as well just meet them," his tone calm.
Asher stayed silent for a moment, then smiled as he nodded. "I will go call them over," he stated.
But before he could even turn around to leave, Azaron spoke as he leaned off the table, "No need, I will go with you to meet them."
Asher blinked in slight surprise. After all, he had never heard of Azaron going to anyone’s room. He always sent for people to meet him in his own study room. The next moment, he simply nodded as he turned and led the way.
Zarek didn’t speak. Seeing Azaron walking beside Asher, he simply walked behind the both of them.
Ryaen, William, Finch, and Vaelric, who were discussing random things, heard the door open, their eyes instinctively turning towards it as they thought it was just Asher. But the moment their entire bodies froze, they saw a man standing over eight feet tall with golden hair step into the room.
The four of them immediately shot to their feet, not daring to remain on their beds. They bowed as they greeted, "We greet the Primarch."
Azaron came to a stop as he spoke in a calm tone, "Like the former Emperor said, no need for such formalities, you all are Asher’s friends after all."
William and the rest raised their heads as they stared at the man. They couldn’t help but feel awe, as though their bodies were trying to force them to kneel before the existence standing before them. After all, who didn’t know who The One Above All was?
Azaron didn’t really know what to say or even where to begin. After all, his children hardly brought any friends home, so he had no experience in this matter. So he simply decided to say whatever came to mind.
"I had thought I would finish my work on time to have a meal with you all, but the matter concerning the former Emperor couldn’t be rushed, so forgive me," he stated as his stone-carved expression broke into a small smile.
Finch, William, Vaelric, and Ryaen wondered if their eyes were failing them, wondering if they were in some sort of illusion. After all, they had just seen the man with the most expressionless face smile.
"Anyway, when the four of you graduate from the Star Academy, you can come to the Wargrave Estate. I owe you all a one-on-one lesson as a form of compensation," he added.
