Cindralis didn’t continue speaking immediately. She allowed the students to enjoy the feeling of receiving such an amount of points for free. After two minutes, she continued.
"As this is a reward from me to everyone, I don’t want to see anyone bullying another student for their reward. Such an offense would result in immediate expulsion and nothing else." She stated, as she knew exactly how human nature was. They might be happy now, but they would never truly be satisfied.
To her, she was sure some would certainly make a move, and when that time came, she would cripple them, then expel them.
Some people who had already made plans to bully their usual targets could only frown and click their tongues at Cindralis’s words, but they dared not disobey.
"And finally, let us welcome the winner of the Inter-Empire Tournament to receive his reward," Cindralis continued, her eyes, along with hundreds of pairs of others, turning towards Asher’s direction.
Asher sighed. Although his name wasn’t called, it didn’t need to be. He simply rose to his feet and walked towards the stage, as Cindralis seemed to want to make him the center of attention. Not that he was complaining, as he was already used to it.
Cindralis didn’t bother with any useless speech. She had said she was here to give the reward, and that was exactly what she did.
"The first reward, two million Academy points," she stated as she took out a card. Asher simply took out his, and the moment both cards touched, Asher’s card vibrated as two million points were instantly transferred to him.
The students could only stare in awe, some in envy, as their ten thousand Academy points didn’t look so huge anymore compared to what the Tenth Sun was receiving.
"Second reward, a one-year free pass to the Training Facility Building," Cindralis continued as a golden card with Asher’s name carved on it appeared in her hand. She passed it to Asher as she spoke, "Show this to anyone at the Training Facility Building and you will be allowed to use any chamber of any level without paying. They’ve already been notified," her tone calm.
"Thank you," Asher spoke as he received the card. He stared at it for a moment as though taking in its design. He didn’t need to look twice to know it was made from pure gold. The card vanished into his space ring as he waited for the next reward.
"Third and final reward," Cindralis continued, "a one-time-use teleportation orb. Crush it, and it will take you anywhere throughout the planet according to your current thoughts," she explained as a medium-sized orb appeared in her palm, then she proceeded to pass it to Asher.
To Asher, this was the most valuable reward, not the points or the card. This one vanished into his system inventory, not his space ring.
"You may go back," Cindralis stated as she was done with the gifts she had promised.
Asher gave a little bow, then turned and walked down. Personally, he was happy he wasn’t made or told to say a few words. As he returned to his seat and sat down, Cindralis continued speaking.
"As the year has come to an end, your year-end exams will begin in two days, so make preparations," she stated. "As usual, if you fail, you are expelled. We don’t repeat years here," she added, her eyes shifting towards the third years. "And third years, I hope you all are ready for your graduation exams. For your sake, I hope you spent the past one month training, or at least trained once in a while, instead of drinking and sleeping around," she stated as though they hadn’t spent the last month at the Thalvorn Empire.
For the first and second years, the end-of-the-year exams weren’t really an issue. All they had to do was receive a passing grade from each Instructor, then they could advance to the next year. And if one received a failing grade from more than two Instructors, it was an automatic expulsion.
As for the final-year students, since they were graduating, their exams involved battles, but not against each other. Rather, they would battle in the outside world. It was just like how missions functioned, but the exam wasn’t a mission issued by the Logistics and Missions Operations Hall, but by the Instructors.
And they needed to pass these exams, or rather complete the mission, to graduate. Also, their points didn’t become useless, as prior to their graduation, they could use their Academy points to exchange for anything that could help them in the real world after their graduation.
But even if they had spent the last one month enjoying themselves, it wasn’t like they would suddenly lose the skills and techniques they had been training since they awakened between the ages of fifteen and sixteen, just because they hadn’t trained for a single month.
"That will be all," Cindralis stated as she stepped back into her portal.
The moment she left, the hall erupted into various noises. Many first years talked about the exam, some panicking and wondering how harsh each Instructor was going to be, wondering if they would fail. The second years and third years weren’t bothered, as they were already used to the system.
And also, with the advancement in classes, it meant that a new set of first-year students would be coming in soon.
Many students immediately rose to their feet. They began to rush towards the Training Facility Building. They had only two days to prepare, and they needed to make use of every single second. To them, the reward Academy points that Cindralis had just shared were their saving grace.
As for people who stood at the upper ranks, like Oliver Twist, Lucifer Morningstar, and the likes, they didn’t bother rushing towards the Training Facility Building to train. They were confident they could pass every exam thrown at them.
But... many people, or rather, the first years, hadn’t considered that maybe, just maybe, there would be a written exam.
