Lior, hearing Finch’s suggestion, thought for a moment, then shook his head in disagreement as he spoke.
"We’ve known Ryaen Silvershade for a while. We know how talented she is, as we’ve seen her grow these past few months. It’s best to choose someone we’ve seen rather than bet our future on some guy we don’t know," he stated in an analytical tone.
Finch stayed silent and nodded in agreement as Lior made a compelling argument. Although that argument didn’t hold much weight, as they had previously tried to link to people they hadn’t watched grow.
Seeing Finch agree, he nodded as he spoke, "You try this time. I’m suffering from way too many injuries."
Finch stayed silent for a moment, wondering if this Emovira had been traumatized by his own ability. But he simply nodded his head in agreement and proceeded to try.
"Aptitude Link, Ryaen Silvershade," his voice echoed through their room.
As those words left his lips, both Finch and Lior felt some sort of connection between themselves and some unknown person. They couldn’t trace the connection, but they could feel it.
"Phew! Finally, no more death suspension," Finch spoke as he wiped his sweaty forehead with the back of his palm, as he too had been somewhat afraid that Ryaen, being the daughter of a Duke, possessed some soul protection artifact or something of the sort.
Lior shook his head as he got down from the bed. To him, people like Ryaen Silvershade were normal people, not the Wargraves.
Finch was tempted to cultivate and strengthen his Astra veins, just so he could see how much faster his cultivation speed had become, but alas, that had to wait as he needed to get Lior healed. He got off the bed and took the bedsheets, intending to give them to the Laundry Department.
With that, he and Lior left the room. Although it was 1 a.m. in the morning, all facilities within the Separate Dimension worked around the clock; there was no closing time.
After getting Lior healed, Finch spent the night cultivating as he marveled at just how talented Ryaen was. He couldn’t help but wonder just how outrageous Asher’s cultivation speed was if Ryaen’s was already this fast.
---
The moon dipped below the horizon as the sun rose into the sky. Asher could be seen sitting in front of the television, and the moment William and his friends left, he simply spent the whole night gaming.
’Gaming in a fantasy world is the best,’ he thought to himself as his eyes shifted towards the window. ’Gamers on Earth are really missing out.’
There was nothing like finger pain, sitting too long, or needing rest. All those inconveniences were eliminated by his supernatural Physique. With that, he simply continued gaming as the announcement was at 10 a.m. He would start getting ready by 9 a.m.; there was no need to rush.
When it was 9 a.m., Asher simply turned off the game. He couldn’t exactly press pause, as it was an online game. He simply bade farewell to his online teammates and hit the showers, then changed into a set of good clothes, one of the new outfits he had bought two days ago during his shopping trip with his friends.
With everything done, he opened the door and stepped out, jumping over the railing as usual. After all, it remained the fastest way to get from the tenth floor to the ground floor.
Other students were already heading towards the Event Hall, each of them discussing various things, but mainly what was going to happen within the next few minutes. Asher didn’t see William, Ryaen, or any of his friends on his way, but he didn’t wait. He simply headed to the Event Hall.
The door was already open, so he simply entered, and needless to say, the place was extremely large, with enough seats for every single person, while an elevated platform stood at the front. Since there was no seat allocation this time, unlike the previous time, Asher simply sat at the back.
As he stayed at the back, nobody sat beside him as everyone already assumed he had reserved the seats for his friends, as they were all normally together. And indeed, the moment the others arrived, they found him instantly, as they knew he loved sitting at the back even during classes. Ryaen, William, Finch, and Vaelric took their seats.
They simply greeted each other and exchanged small talk before they fell silent, as loud noise wasn’t allowed within a place like this. Their eyes focused on the platform as they waited for the Principal’s arrival, which could happen at any moment.
A few more minutes passed, and the moment it struck ten, the doors closed as the lights dimmed. As usual, a portal opened up on the stage, and from the portal, Cindralis stepped out, her beauty still as charming as ever.
She faced everyone as silence settled over the entire space. The silence was shattered as she began to speak.
"I don’t have much to say, so I will get to the point," her tone calm. "After twenty years, we’ve finally achieved victory and brought honor back to the Star Academy," she stated. "Although not all of you made it past the first stage, it doesn’t change the fact that you did your best and showed the fruit of your training to the world." Her black eyes moved through the students. "And for that, I’m rewarding every student with a base reward of ten thousand Academy points."
Hearing the last part of Cindralis’s words, everyone immediately felt immense happiness. Who wouldn’t be happy? Ten thousand Academy points was by no means cheap. Whether it was for the first years, second years, or third years, it was a huge sum. Smiles could be seen plastered across their faces as they whispered in hushed tones.
Cindralis, unbothered by their whispering, simply continued, "And those who made it to the next round, which was the Thinning Round, will be awarded twenty thousand Academy points on top of the ten thousand Academy points," her tone calm. "And those who made it to the final round will be awarded another fifty thousand points," she stated in finality.
People sat frozen in their seats. The reward was simply too much. They had thought that only the Tenth Sun was going to receive his promised reward, only for some of them to earn even more.
Finch wore a wide smile on his face. Eighty thousand Academy points had just fallen into his lap free of charge. Even Asher, who had been promised two million Academy points, was qualified for the eighty thousand points.
The next moment, the students sensed their Academy cards vibrate within their space rings. They took them out and channeled their Astra energy into them, and there their rewards sat, as Cindralis gave out the rewards without wasting any time.
Teo Swig stared at the eighty thousand points for a moment, his face expressionless. Thalric, who was on another side of the hall, also stared at his balance. He would have been disappointed, but as he was applying for early graduation, he didn’t really care anymore and simply returned the Academy card to his space ring.
