Chapter 1079: Eleven Seconds

This chapter is updated by JustRead.pl

Asher stayed silent as he knew Instructor Jude seemed to have just schemed against him. After all, the Instructors knew about Virelass healing and her Astra storage ability; such information wasn’t so hard to find out, given how many times he had used it openly.

But he wasn’t bothered. All he did was smile, and that was all. He had no intention of complaining about it, since the rules were clear to him.

"Begin," Instructor Jude said abruptly without giving anyone any time to think or anything. After all, in a battlefield, there was nothing like time to think.

At his words, Astra energy roared across the forest, various movement techniques came alive, and the air seemed to explode outwards as all one hundred and ninety-nine students fanned out in a burst of motion. Even Finch, William, Ryaen, and Vaelric, who were standing beside Asher, had already moved before Instructor Jude finished speaking.

Asher didn’t chase immediately. Instead, a faint smile appeared on his lips as nine daggers immediately appeared between his fingers. Without wasting a split second, he threw them forward in nine different locations. The next moment, he vanished from where he stood, his body appearing beside one of his daggers in a silent flash of purple. Before the student could register anything, Asher’s hand hit his nape.

The dagger vanished into his system storage as he vanished yet again from his position, not even spending more than a split second with that student. His figure appeared above a female student. The moment he appeared, his purple eyes met her black ones, and before she could even blink, Asher’s fist struck her stomach with devastating force. But before the momentum of the attack could even tear the girl backwards, Asher was already gone.

His figure flashed seven more times. Nine students, nine attacks, some only seeing a purple flash, some not even seeing anything at all before their consciousness flickered out. All nine bodies hit the ground with heavy thuds, literally simultaneously, all nine attacks and teleportations completed in less than one second.

Asher’s figure appeared midair, his body inverted as his head faced the ground, his two hands blurred as he threw the nine daggers yet again. The daggers shot out like bullets from a cannon. Asher moved yet again with a smile on his face, as though he was the grim reaper.

He appeared before Reddington Carrington, his palm meeting the boy’s jaw with resounding impact. Before Reddington’s head could even snap upwards, Asher was done, his figure appearing beside Finch, who seemed to be wondering why a dagger had suddenly appeared before him. But before he could even complete that thought, his fat belly rippled outwards in waves as he felt insane pain consume him. Before his very eyes, all he saw was the familiar vanishing purple-haired boy before he lost consciousness.

A second fully passed, and Asher had taken down eighteen students.

Instructor Jude could only watch as Asher flashed through the entire forest as though he was light itself. Before the momentum and force from his attacks could finish traveling, the boy was already gone. He hadn’t expected this turn of events, after all, he thought he already knew all of Asher’s soul-bound weapon’s abilities.

Time continued to pass, and the bodies continued to hit the ground. One second equaled eighteen bodies, one attack equaled total unconsciousness.

Asher appeared before Oliver Twist in a flash of purple as he caught his dagger midair, the dagger vanishing into his system storage. With a boom, he punched Oliver Twist in the temple with insane force, the boy shooting sideways in a blur as though he had been hit by a trunk. He had simply used more force than normal since Oliver Twist was within the top ten, hence needed more force to knock him out.

Asher appeared beside Caelan Stormveil, another top ten, but from the Stormveil Ducal Household. Asher, who had appeared midair, unleashed a kick to his jawline with maddening force, the Astra energy cloaking the boy doing nothing to defend him. It was as though a sledgehammer had been used against him, but Asher was already gone before Caelan could sense the pain.

Asher appeared before William as though he was targeting only the top ten this time. William sensed the flash of purple, but it was useless. He had barely sensed it before he felt pain bloom across his chest as Asher’s palm met his chest with titanic force.

Asher was gone again, his form a purple blur. Lucifer Morningstar, who was moving from tree to tree, heard the sound of something closing in from the side, his senses telling him it was a dagger. He moved to dodge, but the moment he dodged, all he saw was a purple flash before he lost consciousness, his teeth leaving his gums as Asher’s elbow met his jaw.

Seven seconds had passed, and over a hundred and thirty students were already unconscious, some of their bodies hanging like corpses on a branch, some falling on dirt, some covered in blood, some with their heads swollen.

Asher appeared midair in-between Vaelra Lux Vanthelmor, the Princess, and Darissa Camber as they seemed to be moving together for some reason. The moment he appeared, his legs snapped out as the soles of his feet met their temples with rocketing impact, as they had only seen a flash of purple blur before their bodies tore sideways in opposite directions.

Asher caught his dagger and vanished with it as though he was never there. Reality seemed to blink as he appeared before Beryon Ravencroft, the genius of the Ravencroft Ducal family.

But it didn’t matter, genius or not, a Ducal heir or not. None of them could react to Asher’s teleportation speed and attack speed, as both lasted less than a split second combined. The boy’s nose caved in as Asher’s fist connected with his face before he could understand or see what was happening.

Time blurred as only two students remained, Ryaen Silvershade and a random male student. The male student’s body was a blur, but it didn’t matter because Asher simply hit his nape the moment he appeared behind the boy. The boy tripped forward as he fell unconscious.

Ryaen, who was amongst the fastest, was running on the ground, sand and soil tearing backwards with every step she took. But the next moment, a purple light appeared, and before she could even sense it, she rammed into the purple light. The moment she slammed into the purple light, her body jerked backwards as she toppled backwards.

Ryaen immediately rotated and caught herself, her black eyes snapping to see that it was Asher who stood silently as he gazed at her with a calm expression.

Ryaen wondered why Asher wasn’t attacking, but she too didn’t make a move. If Asher decided to stand here and waste time, then she would gladly accept that.

After a second of silence, Asher sighed as he spoke in a defeated tone.

"I forfeit," his tone exasperated.

Hearing Asher’s words, the golden sheen covering Ryaen’s body immediately vanished. She couldn’t help but wonder why Asher was forfeiting, after all, only thirteen seconds had passed till now. But before she could even speak, Instructor Jude’s voice came from above.

"HAHAHAHAHAH!" He laughed wildly as he had truly been surprised this time. "You don’t cease to amaze me, Asher Wargrave. To think you will defeat all one hundred and ninety-eight in eleven seconds," he stated with a wide grin on his face.
