Chapter 1092: Sweet And Logical Words

Asher stared at the text and simply reacted to it with a laughing emoji. Although he didn’t know which Empire FatelessPen had run to exactly, probably the Vandross or Velkarin Empire, he knew the man would be racing back to the Zarethorne Empire at full speed.

He scrolled towards Finch, William, and Ryaen’s messages, and it seemed these three had already started enjoying themselves without him, as Finch and William had met Ryaen at the Silvershade Ducal Estate. They were flooding him with pictures and videos. As for Vaelric, he didn’t text, as the boy seemed occupied by Royal matters. As the Crown Prince, he was naturally very busy. And with Cyrvexis taking him under his wing, his days were bound to be filled with work, more work, and even more work.

Asher could only send his condolences to the boy. Although he himself was about to start working on his own personal growth.

Asher shifted into a seated position as he remembered something. Kimberley had said that her Elox family was coming to the Zarethorne Empire, although he didn’t know when. He could only hope it was after he was done with training, as he had promised Finch to introduce him to Kimberley.

Although Finch would be at the Star Academy and would be about two months into his sophomore year, he could still contact the boy to come out, using missions as his way to leave.

’Time to get to training,’ Asher thought to himself as he got down from his bed.

’Tomorrow I will meet Uncle Zarek and have him take me to the Wargrave main training building,’ he thought as he headed towards his training chamber. ’I wonder if I can get permission for Lyra to train there... or maybe they have ones allocated to butlers and maids. After all, people like Uncle Zarek and Conrad are all Crownstar Life Rankers,’ he thought to himself as he pushed a button, activating a mechanism.

Astra energy hummed through the air. He lowered himself onto the ground as he closed his eyes to begin cultivating. As he was about to start, his mind urged him to try cultivating with Star Energy. After all, he wouldn’t just assume that something bad would happen, right?

Besides, he didn’t need to cultivate his entire body as usual. He could just try cultivating the Astra veins in his legs. That way, even if something happened, he could just sever the limb, and Virelass would grow a new one.

It was a price worthy of an answer, right?

Asher wanted to tell himself no. He wanted to tell whatever devil was whispering such sweet and logical words in his ears to leave him alone, but alas, the allure of power was simply too great. His Will wasn’t strong enough to resist the temptation of power.

’Just one try... a single try and no more,’ he told himself like an addict who said this was their last taste, despite knowing they were very much lying to themselves.

He took a deep breath, then exhaled. Unlike normal cultivation, which he could do passively and instinctively, he had to be absolutely focused to pull this off.

’First things first, see the Astra veins,’ Asher thought to himself.

He had to see the Astra veins with his eyes in order to manually cultivate and strengthen them. He didn’t need to do such a thing with Astra energy, but for this method, he wasn’t relying on the instincts granted to everyone while they cultivated.

He couldn’t just assume veins were somewhere and weren’t somewhere. To strengthen something manually, he had to see it with his eyes, meaning he had to create some sort of X-ray vision skill. Although Omni Perception granted that skill, it only worked on inanimate objects. As for living things... well, maybe on its next upgrade. As for now, that was a no.

’With my current control over Star Energy, I should be able to create such a skill, like an upgraded form of my Astra Sense skill,’ he thought to himself as he closed his eyes.

His control over his Star Energy had increased after his battle with ’Z’, but it didn’t matter. Even without that battle, Asher was sure he could still create the X-ray skill. He closed his eyes as his Star Energy came alive with a thought, flowing into his eyes with expert control. After a moment, he opened his eyes and glanced at his palm, but all that he saw was his skin.

He had failed.

He closed his eyes and tried again. After about five minutes, he opened them again, gazing at his forearm this time. Still, another failure.

He didn’t rush. This was a delicate matter; skills and techniques weren’t so easily created. If they were, everyone would have them, and they would be powerful too. After about half an hour of trying, he succeeded.

Asher stared at his hands in amazement and fascination as he stared at the Astra veins and the Astra energy flowing through them. He had read about Astra veins being wrapped around each vein, but reading, hearing, and seeing were three separate things, as at this moment, he was seeing it.

Although he had seen Astra veins before through injuring people, he had never seen them in their mesmerizing, beautiful form before.

He decided to stop wasting time and start working immediately.

’Can I control Astra energy and Star Energy at the same time?’ he thought to himself.

After all, he needed to keep Star Energy up for his X-ray vision skill, then use Astra energy to cultivate, watching how the cultivation process was done, and then he would replicate it through Star Energy.

He immediately got to work, and indeed, he could use both of them at the same time. He watched the process ever so slowly, as though he didn’t want to make any mistakes, but he knew it was impossible not to make any mistakes.

After about an hour of cultivation, he stopped. He exhaled again as he murmured, "Here goes nothing."

Star Energy hummed through his body from his heart. The energy flowed to his left leg ever so slowly and calmly. The moment it got to the leg, Asher tried to coat it around the Astra veins, but it... impossible.

Although he had managed to locate and memorize all the Astra veins in his legs, as they were within the thousands, it was still impossible, as some were so minuscule and small that Star Energy getting to them seemed like a miracle, but he tried nonetheless.

Star Energy began twisting around the outer walls of the first few Astra veins, then tens, hundreds, and even more. Asher’s heart raced with excitement as the number of Astra veins he reached increased in real time.

But the next moment, his legs began swelling up and turning black, as though his Astra veins were rejecting the Star Energy. Asher’s expression twisted as his trousers tore apart as the size of his leg continued to grow ceaselessly.

Virelass appeared in a silver flash. She rotated in a three-sixty-degree motion, and with that, his leg was cut off from the knee. Black blood splattered into the air as the huge, swollen leg dropped to the ground. A new leg grew in its place as Virelass activated Crimson Pact.
