The moment Asher’s leg grew back, he shot to his feet as he stared at the huge, pitch-black, swollen leg that Virelass had severed. His eyes shifted to the blood on the ground, which was also black in color. He couldn’t help but frown as he stared at the black blood and swollen leg.’I knew I shouldn’t have tried it out,’ Asher thought to himself as his expression eased into a relaxed one.
He couldn’t help but wonder why his leg had suddenly swollen up and turned black as though it was decaying or something. But alas, he didn’t have enough information and could only make wild guesses.
’Is it because I don’t have something like Star Veins?’ he thought as his finger touched his chin, his mind spinning through every plausible explanation.
’If Astra Energy is a byproduct of Star Energy, it shouldn’t have rejected the Astra veins, no?’ His eyes narrowed in thought as he made various guesses, but he had no way to prove any of them.
’At least, I didn’t try to cultivate my entire body.’ He sighed, thankful that he had been cautious enough to experiment on only a single limb. If he had done this throughout his entire body without caution, he might have just died without even knowing what had killed him.
’Tsk, I knew whatever voice was whispering that dangerous idea wanted me to die. It was simply too good to be true.’ He blamed the voice that had suggested the idea as though he wasn’t the one who had come up with it.
He motioned his palm forward, and Star Energy hummed as his StellarFlame came alive, burning the swollen black limb and the black blood from the training chamber.
’No more experiments,’ he concluded as he sat back down on the ground.
If this was Earth, or at least, if this was Thalvorn, he would have requested a lab and run a few experiments. Although he wasn’t a medical student or a doctor, he had an idea of what he should test for.
With that, he closed his eyes and decided to cultivate normally for the entire day. Virelass returned to his soul, where she floated above him as though ready to intervene if any part of his body turned black once more. But unknown to her, Asher had already stopped, as he wasn’t some XianXian protagonist who went around courting death.
Hours passed as Asher remained seated in a lotus position, refining and strengthening his Astra veins. The sun fell below the horizon and the moon rose, the moon vanished and the sun rose once more as the next day arrived.
Asher’s eyes flickered open, and he rose to his feet as he stretched. It was a new day, and he was supposed to meet Zarek to show him around the Wargraves’ training facilities. There, he would train before he left for the Frontier.
Asher opened the door of the training chamber and stepped out. He decided to take one last bath, as in the training facility he was heading to, he would have to rely solely on Astra Energy to cleanse himself. After taking a bath and stepping out, Lyra knocked on the door.
"Come in." Asher’s voice echoed.
"Good morning, Young Master." Lyra greeted him.
"Morning," Asher replied flatly as he put on some fresh clothes.
"Do you need breakfast?" she asked calmly.
Asher shook his head as he replied, "No."
Lyra nodded, about to step out of the room, but before she could leave, Asher continued, "We would be heading to a Wargrave private cultivation facility today. That is where I would be entering seclusion."
Lyra stayed silent for a moment as she didn’t exactly know the Wargraves had a private training facility.
"Yes, Young Master," she answered after a split second of thought.
Within minutes, Asher was done. He put various clothes into his space rings, ones that he would change into during his seclusion. Although the clothes he was wearing now would remain neat and fresh through Astra Energy manipulation, to Asher, it wasn’t about that, but more of a psychological effect or something like that.
After all, although his clothes were neat, he would still feel somewhat uncomfortable wearing the same particular outfit every single day for over a month.
"Let’s go." Asher’s voice echoed as the door opened.
Stepping out, Lyra followed behind him as they headed towards Azaron’s study room, as that would be where Zarek would usually stand. Normally, in the past, Azaron should have been gone by now, heading out to do who knew what. But ever since his battle with The Convergence, the man had barely stepped outside the Wargrave Estate, as though he was protecting something here.
Getting to Azaron’s study room, Zarek was indeed already standing there. Seeing Asher approach, he greeted him.
"Good morning, Tenth Sun." His tone was calm.
"Good morning, Uncle Zarek," Asher replied.
"I suppose you are here for the Wargrave training facilities," Zarek followed up, as he and Asher had talked about it for a while in the past.
Asher simply nodded and said nothing else.
Seeing Asher nod, Zarek spoke, "Let’s go then."
With that, he turned and began to walk after sending one last glance towards the study room door, as though he didn’t want to leave his post. Asher simply followed behind the man as Zarek led him and Lyra out of the building and into the garden.
They moved behind the main building and went deep into the forest where Asher, his siblings, had played the archery game. As for where his siblings were, Asher didn’t really know. He guessed they had all gone to do their own things, like they usually did.
Which was practically returning to their various Frontiers and Outposts. After all, as Wargraves, they could hardly live a peaceful life. Not everyone was Morthern, who could lock himself up in a library.
Asher could only look around as they walked, a canopy of forest enveloping them.
’I wonder why the Family would keep their own private facility deep within the forest.’ He couldn’t help but complain a little, as he didn’t see the use of it.
As silence enveloped the three of them, Asher decided to break it as he began to speak.
"Uncle Zarek," his tone was calm and respectful, "I understand that the training facility we are heading to might be reserved only for the Wargraves, but I wanted to inquire if there are any that others, like my maid, can train at." His steps didn’t slow as he asked, "After all, if I remember correctly, you are at the Crownstar Life Rank, Elder Brother’s butler is also at the Crownstar Life Rank, and we have five Knights at the Crownstar Life Rank too. Surely, all of you have somewhere you all stay to train, no?" He asked without turning to Zarek.
Zarek stayed silent for a moment before he began to speak. "What the Young Master says is indeed true, but as for the Knights, being Knights, they possess their own separate training chambers," he explained calmly.
"Just like how there are differences between Nobles and Commoners, there are differences between a Knight and a Maid or Butler. So, we Servants and the Knights have our own separate training facilities," his voice low and respectful.
