Chapter 1094: Underground

"But these specialized training facilities aren’t just used by anyone," Zarek continued calmly. "One has to reach a certain Life Rank, meaning that the training facilities reserved for Maids and Butlers with high Life Ranks can’t be used by others." He shook his head as he spoke, his eyes turning to Lyra for a moment.

Asher stayed silent as he perfectly understood. It was just like how Advanced Chambers at the Star Academy were reserved for Instructors; it was basically the same method here. So, if Lyra wanted to step into these advanced and specialized places and hasten her progress, she had to reveal her Radiant Soulstar Life Rank.

But unknown to Asher and Lyra, both of them didn’t need to hide anything, as Azaron and Zarek already knew about Lyra’s current Life Rank; they had simply chosen to stay silent about it.

"Since the Young Master is asking, I’m guessing he wants Lyra to enter these specialized training facilities, right?" Zarek asked, his head shifting towards Asher’s position.

Asher nodded his head.

Zarek smiled, then spoke, "Then Lyra can go on the authority of the Tenth Sun."

Hearing this, Lyra and Asher arched an eyebrow, as they hadn’t expected it to be so easy. They weren’t even sure a specialized training facility existed for Maids, as Asher had merely been guessing.

"Was it really that simple?" Asher asked as he arched an eyebrow.

Zarek’s smile remained as he continued, "Nothing really, but power and connections rule the world, and Lyra has you as her connection, so through that connection, she can skip the rules," he said.

Of course, Zarek’s words had been a lie. It was just that he had anticipated something like this happening and told Azaron about it, and Azaron had agreed to let Lyra enter the specialized training facilities reserved for higher-ranked Maids and Butlers. But that was on the condition that Asher asked for it; if he didn’t, then they wouldn’t simply tell Lyra to head there.

And since Asher asked, Zarek simply said that Lyra could go under the authority of a Sun, but that was a lie, since even Suns and Moons couldn’t send their Maids and Butlers there, as they might not even come out alive.

Lyra, who was walking behind them, smiled as she walked. With the training facility now in hand, her speed of progress would skyrocket. She would spend two weeks in the facility, then come out so she could find unique and suitable abilities to devour, then head back to the specialized facility. Then repeat the process. A perfect balance.

"One last thing, Uncle Zarek," Asher spoke again.

He decided to ask about the Frontier and Outpost he should go to. He didn’t know why Malrik wanted to say anything, but it was best to ask Zarek since the man would practically have information on everybody’s Frontier.

"Which of the Elders’ and Great Elders’ Frontiers do you recommend I join?" He asked.

Zarek stayed silent for a moment, then spoke, "It seems you misunderstand, Young Master, or it was never explained very well to you."

Asher stayed silent as he wondered what he had misunderstood.

"You must not join the Elders’ or Great Elders’ Frontiers." Zarek shook his head. "It’s your decision to make. Not even the Primarch can force you where to go, Young Master. You can decide to just go and join the Knight Order of the Imperial Family, or one of the Frontiers under them, or even the Frontiers under any of the other Dukes." His tone was explanatory.

"Hooo!!! I didn’t know that," Asher replied in a bit of surprise. "Will the Family really allow me to do such a thing?"

Zarek chuckled as he replied, "Of course the Family Law allows it. The Wargrave has no great secret to hide or anything of the sort. No great secret technique that must not be passed to outsiders, no historical secret and forbidden knowledge or whatever. The Wargrave’s biggest treasure remains their bloodline and descendants." His words this time were true. "So, even if a Wargrave joins some other force or whatever, no Wargrave would particularly care... unless the Wargrave that left dares to give birth to a descendant."

Asher couldn’t help but nod in understanding. Indeed, the Wargrave didn’t possess any immense secret, as each Wargrave was made to develop their own techniques according to their soul-bound weapon. Of course, other families would have a secret technique, but that was them.

Besides, even if the Wargrave family possessed some immense secret or something, it would be information reserved for the Primarch at the end of the day. So if someone wasn’t a Primarch, they wouldn’t know.

Asher couldn’t help but remember reading about a few Wargraves that weren’t the Primarch but actually dared to give birth. Both them and their babies had been killed. He couldn’t help but wonder if Malrik were to impregnate a woman today, would Azaron raise his spear and kill his own son and grandson?

But at the end of the day, Azaron would just step down and retire as the Duke, allowing Malrik to keep his child and girlfriend.

Asher didn’t judge such a family with his twenty-first-century mindset, as he perfectly understood why such a Law was in place. With such an overpowered family giving birth endlessly, surely, internal destruction was the most likely thing to bring about their own fall.

’I wonder if the First Patriarch or Matriarch was the one who made such a rule,’ Asher thought to himself.

He couldn’t help but guess that something like that must have happened in the past, leading to some sort of disaster that forced them to implement such a rule.

’Oh well, I’m just a single guy who is a virgin in this life,’ he shrugged mentally. ’This is a matter of concern to people who are in love or are in a relationship,’ he concluded.

As he was lost in thought, Zarek’s voice echoed, the sound snapping him out of his thoughts.

"We are here," Zarek stated calmly.

Asher’s purple eye looked around, but he couldn’t see anything. But he didn’t say anything; he assumed that maybe some sort of cloaking ability was hiding the facility or something. But his guess was wrong, as Zarek raised a hand and an unknown talisman appeared in his hand.

The man knelt and placed it on the ground. The moment he did, the entire earth spanning a couple of meters shook, then stopped. A space seemed to open up on the ground, leading underground where darkness awaited.

’Underground?’ Asher asked himself rhetorically.

Zarek didn’t wait for either of them to speak. He simply climbed the flight of stairs that led underground as the darkness devoured the three of them, the opening above closing behind them. And as though the place was motion-sensitive, light immediately came on.

They walked down a pathway that seemed to stretch forward.

"Although this place doesn’t have an official name, I call it the Ancient Creator of Monsters," Zarek spoke as he walked.

Asher turned to the man as he asked, "Why would you give it such a name?"

Zarek smiled as he spoke, "Simply because only Wargraves can train here, and each Wargrave is a monster. And I called it ancient because this place is said to date back at least five thousand years, although only the Primarch knows how old this place truly is." His voice held a hint of fascination.
