As Asher walked forward, the Emovira and Monkey walked forward as well, the three of them grinning at each other as their presences began to rise. Birds immediately tore through the canopy as they flapped their wings and flew away for their dear lives.Their walking pace increased until, in the next moment, their bodies turned into phantoms and vanished from their locations. They reappeared at a point in space, the rapier screaming towards the Monkey’s neck, the staff crashing towards Asher’s shoulder, and the katana singing downwards towards Asher’s gut.
As the three attacks were about to land, Asher vanished. The staff and katana met nothing but thin air as Asher increased his speed at the last moment and dodged. His body appeared behind the two, his rapier flashing in a silver blur as he aimed for decapitation, moving to end the fight before it had even begun.
The Emovira didn’t even bother blocking. Its wings flapped as it shot into the air like a bullet. The Monkey spun on its palm-like feet, its staff rolling over its shoulders as it moved to block.
With a thunderous roar, a seismic shockwave erupted outwards, erasing everything within a three-hundred-kilometer radius. The ravine tore open beneath their feet, causing both of them to lose their balance for a split second. Yet within that split second, neither adjusted to catch themselves. They simply attacked, using that fleeting moment to prioritize injuring the other over anything else.
With a shrieking sound, metal tore against metal once again as another thundering blast erupted outwards. Both of them used the momentum of the shockwave to create distance between each other.
Asher rotated through the air like an acrobat and landed on his feet. His head snapped forward as he readied himself to pick up the pace, but before he could move, he sensed a large volume of Astra Energy. His head snapped upwards as, from the sky, the Emovira unleashed a cannon blast of pure Astra Energy without a shred of mercy.
Asher didn’t dodge. He didn’t block. Instead, he met the attack with one of his own. He swung Virelass in a vertical motion, unleashing a thin silver slash that tore the silver Astra Energy blast in half before continuing to streak towards the Emovira.
The Emovira flapped its wings and dodged with perfect timing. As it moved aside, Asher’s silver sword slash tore through the mountains in the distance, severing everything in its path with chilling ease.
Asher’s purple eyes tore to the side as the Monkey was already in position, thrusting the butt of its staff towards his temples. Asher leaned backwards, dodging with expert ease. Virelass vanished from his right hand, appearing in his left as he performed another upward swing from below, aiming to sever the Monkey’s arm from the elbow.
But the Monkey seemed to possess insane reflexes and reaction speed. The staff spun within its grasp, shifting into a reverse grip, and as it moved into position, staff met rapier once more. The air seemed to convulse as the barrier of air shattered in all directions, kicking up dust and sending shockwaves through the battlefield, even shattering mountains in the distance.
Through the dust and destruction, the Emovira appeared behind Asher, thrusting towards his heart from the back as it aimed for the kill. The Monkey also recalibrated, planting its staff into the ground and using it to launch itself into the air before stomping towards Asher’s abdomen from the front.
Their pincer attack was perfect and coordinated, showing that this wasn’t their first time working together.
With one attack coming from behind and the other from the front, Asher reacted. He didn’t need to dodge both attacks individually, as dodging one would automatically cause the other to miss. His speed spiked once more, his reaction time sharpening as he weaved to the side with insulting ease.
As he moved, the Emovira’s thrust, originally aimed at Asher, now shifted toward the Monkey’s feet, while the Monkey’s stomping attack was redirected toward the Emovira’s chest. Both immediately moved to recalibrate their attacks, unwilling to injure each other, but Asher capitalized on that fleeting opening without hesitation. He wasn’t about to let such an opportunity slip away.
His hand blurred into a phantom, his rapier following as a singular slash unleashed a thousand sword-arc attacks within the span of a single millisecond. It was an attack meant to connect and tear injuries into his opponent.
But in the next moment, the two seemed to enter an entirely different state. Moving with a single mind, they reacted simultaneously to the thousand incoming attacks. Neither attempted to block a single strike. Instead, they simply weaved through the barrage, expertly dodging and sidestepping each sword arc by the narrowest of margins, every attack passing them by with barely a hair’s breadth between blade and flesh.
Sword marks tore into the earth, carving trenches across everything within a three-hundred-and-fifty-kilometer radius, while enormous chasms ripped through the terrain, violently reshaping the entire battlefield.
Asher blurred backward, putting some distance between himself and the two. He couldn’t understand how they had suddenly managed to dodge his attack, an attack that should have drawn blood. Their eyes snapped toward him, and they both smirked, their expressions carrying an unmistakable hint of mockery, taunting him for attempting to catch them off guard only to fail so pitifully.
But at their taunt, Asher didn’t react. He knew he was physically stronger than these two, as they were enhancing themselves with Astra Energy, and he wasn’t. Meaning they had dodged his attack through a sort of shared ability.
The Monkey zipped forward, erasing the distance in less than a second. The moment it got close, it immediately kicked up a wall of dust and sand, blocking Asher’s vision. The moment it did, the Emovira appeared from behind, its katana moving towards Asher’s ankles as it moved to cripple his speed once and for all.
Asher didn’t panic. He simply leaped into the air as he rotated midair, his toes connecting with the Emovira’s temples like a magnet.
But the moment he landed the attack, the sound of glass cracking echoed through the air, as the next moment, Asher felt his body freeze for an instant.
The Monkey, also hearing the sound of glass cracking, pushed through the sand wall it had kicked up. A wicked grin spread across its face as it smashed its staff into Asher’s side. But as the attack came within a millisecond of connecting, Asher’s Astra Energy came alive as he tapped into his Lightning affinity, his body exploding into bolts of Lightning that scattered throughout the battlefield.
His figure reformed once more as he landed on the ground with calm ease. His eyes immediately snapped towards the Emovira he had kicked, only for it to shatter like glass, revealing that it had never been the original Emovira.
The real Emovira stood in another direction, grinning at Asher. It pointed a finger forward, Astra Energy pulsing as, in the next moment, a mirror formed before the Emovira. Then two. Then ten. Then a hundred, until the number easily reached a thousand.
From these mirrors, the Emovira and the Monkey stepped forth, each possessing the same aura, presence, and strength as the originals.
Five hundred Myth-Class Monkeys and five hundred Rank 8 Emovirae against a single Asher.
