The entire Wargrave Territory was thrown into instant shock. The citizens didn’t know what was happening or where this ridiculous presence was coming from. After years of living in safety, their danger sense had dulled somewhat, as even in this moment, when a normal person would have panicked, they remained relatively calm.As Azaron hovered in the air, Zarek appeared beside him after dropping the Maids and Butlers back onto the ground. Before he could speak, Morthern, who had just saved his Library, appeared in the sky with an indifferent expression. Yveric also appeared, and the remaining four Crownstar Life Ranker Knights under Azaron arrived shortly afterwards.
"We greet the Primarch."
The five Knights greeted him despite the frown on Azaron’s face.
"Primarch, what is the issue?"
Morthern asked. Normally, he would have referred to Azaron by name, but since others were present, he refrained from doing so. Personally, he wanted to know what had gotten his nephew this furious.
Azaron passed on the message he had received from the Emperor without hiding anything. Azaron’s revelation left everyone speechless and shocked. They could finally understand why the Primarch was so furious. The man had over three hundred Frontiers and Outposts under his supervision, and with the Velkarin Empire striking all major Frontiers and Outposts, didn’t that mean all three hundred had been hit?
"I will be heading to the Velkarin Empire."
Azaron stated, his voice icy as he tilted his head in the direction of the Velkarin Empire.
Before he could leave, Morthern’s voice rang out.
"You can’t, Primarch. While I understand your anger, the Frontiers under your supervision need your attention. You can’t just abandon them in blind rage. This isn’t something Zarek can handle on his own."
His tone remained calm as he sighed and shook his head. He could understand the anger Azaron was feeling, but leaving now wasn’t the best choice. As much as he wanted to support his nephew, someone had to remain behind and ensure that the situation didn’t deteriorate further.
Azaron paused for a moment. He knew Morthern was telling the truth; he couldn’t simply abandon his Frontiers and Outposts and leave. The worst part? The Great Elders and Elders all had their own Frontiers and Outposts, and the same thing was happening to them. Otherwise, he would have simply called his siblings to handle the situation for him.
An idea immediately came to mind, and his head snapped towards Morthern as he spoke.
"Great Elder Morthern, since you have no Frontiers, how about you look after mine? Zarek will fill you in on all the details you need to know."
His tone was calm, and he didn’t use any form of command or authority, as even in his state of anger, he still recognised Morthern’s seniority.
Morthern couldn’t help but sigh. With Azaron’s suggestion, there was no way to stop this man from heading to the Velkarin Empire.
"Fine. But it’s still going to take you a week to get there. Isn’t that too much time?"
Morthern asked, still searching for reasons to hold Azaron back.
Azaron raised a hand, and an orb appeared. It was the same orb that Cindralis had given to Asher, which allowed one to teleport to anywhere they had previously visited no matter the distance. Cindralis was the only person capable of creating such an artefact, as Azaron himself wasn’t particularly interested in crafting, even though he possessed the Space Affinity.
He had paid a great price to obtain three of them, as that was the only number Cindralis had been willing to provide.
Seeing the orb, Morthern immediately recognised it. He could only sigh and shake his head, knowing that he had been defeated in this argument.
Seeing Morthern give up, Azaron’s cold eyes turned towards Yveric as he spoke.
"Protect the Wargrave Territory while I’m away. Do not hesitate to do whatever you have to do."
He instructed calmly.
"As the Primarch orders."
Yveric saluted as he replied, the other four Knights saluting alongside him.
With that, Azaron crushed the orb. Space twisted violently around him before swallowing him whole, and he vanished in a blur of white.
Staring at the spot where Azaron had been standing moments ago, Morthern and Zarek sighed. They could only hope the Velkarin Empire survived Azaron’s wrath. After all, the man had spent countless nights dealing with paperwork and other matters concerning these Frontiers, and the current situation had undone in mere seconds what he had spent years creating.
There was no need to pass information to the other Wargraves, as they would already be aware of the situation by this time.
"Let’s go, Zarek. At least with this, I get to have a bit of fun."
Morthern stated as he touched Zarek’s shoulder, and together, they vanished from their position, leaving only the five Knights in the air.
Following their disappearance, Yveric began issuing orders.
"Each of you will be stationed around the Wargrave Walls and in the sky. Before then, order the Soldiers to fan out in all directions. An all-out war has begun. Be ready to die for the Primarch."
He stated without changing his expression before vanishing, leaving no opportunity for the others to respond. Unlike before, when he would stand on rooftops and wait for an enemy to approach, this time, he headed somewhere different to prepare for what was coming.
The four Knights nodded before passing information to Cassandra and moving beyond the walls. Shields were deployed, gates were shut, and mechanical artillery was mounted along the walls as preparations for war began in earnest.
It wasn’t just the Wargrave Territory. All the Nobles had reacted, with the entire Zarethorne Empire deploying its best forces. Nobody held anything back, especially now that even the Emperor had deployed his own men.
The Sinvairas had thought that killing a Wargrave was the only way to provoke someone as indifferent as Azaron into reacting, but alas, it was his Frontiers and Outposts they had targeted.
Millions of kilometres away from the Zarethorne Empire, a portal tore open above the Velkarin Empire, and from it stepped a man standing over eight feet tall. His golden eyes shone brightly as his golden hair danced to the rhythm of the wind.
It was none other than Azaron Wargrave. He was here to show the Velkarin Empire why he was known as The One Above All. He was here to show the Velkarin Empire why Monsters and Emovirae referred to the Wargraves as the Bloodline of Doom, and he was here to show these people why the Wargraves should be left out of any schemes.
Although the rules of war stated that normal people shouldn’t be attacked during wars, Azaron couldn’t give two shits about any of that. If they could capture and imprison him, then they were welcome to try.
And with that, his presence erupted in magnificent grandeur as the entire sky turned pitch-black, as though night itself were descending. Ender appeared in his hand, and as he raised it towards the sky, the soul-bound weapon trembled with frantic excitement.
And with that, Azaron’s operation to wipe out the entire Velkarin Empire began in earnest.
One man versus an entire Empire.
