Asher, Damian, Michael Novrak, Vanessa Thorne, Ryuk Silverleaf, and the rest of the Soldiers from the Frontier returned in a flash, as Damian had transferred everyone to this large, open space. The Soldiers from the Velkarin Empire wore calm expressions, their attitudes indifferent despite having become slaves and prisoners of war.
At their appearance, various Generals arrived. Looking at the half a million prisoners, they couldn’t help but frown as they immediately understood what had happened. Everyone within the Algorith Frontier understood that the explosion from earlier was an attack from the Velkarin Empire, and they had lost.
"Take them to the underground prison."
Damian spoke indifferently as he began to float into the sky, then vanished completely, with the Vice Commanders following in tandem.
The moment they were gone, the Soldiers from the Algorith Frontier acted. Their fists moved, meeting jaws, their legs slammed into cheeks, and their knees drove into ribs without mercy. The sounds of bones cracking echoed through the air as the Soldiers from the Velkarin Empire were beaten down.
They groaned and gritted their teeth as they endured the pain. However, the more they endured, the more the Soldiers from the Algorith Frontier beat them up. The Frontier Soldiers were furious. They had lost thousands of Soldiers and friends to these bastards and their schemes. How could they not be pissed?
Take them to the underground prison without teaching them a lesson first? Wishful thinking.
After making sure that the majority of them were half-crippled, they began leading them to the underground prison.
Asher stared at the Soldiers as they beat up the Soldiers from the Velkarin Empire. He simply stood and watched as his mind couldn’t help but return to the slavery that Black people had suffered in his previous world. He shook his head and turned away, reminding himself that this and that weren’t the same.
These people had simply launched an attack and lost. They weren’t being targeted or anything of the sort.
Above, within one of the floating islands, specifically inside Damian’s office, he was already addressing his Vice Commanders, who would, in turn, address the Generals and the rest of the Soldiers.
"Although you have all just come out of a huge battle and your Astra Energy reserves are running low, we don’t have the time or luxury to relax."
Damian began to speak, his tone urgent, as he needed to report everything he had heard from the Youngest immediately.
"We need to contact the Emperor and every Frontier out there with immediate effect. I will personally handle that, while you guys begin rounding up Soldiers. We need to support every Frontier, starting from those nearest to us, and then expand from there."
As he spoke, he immediately sprang into action. He waved his hand, and an orb connecting to Azaron, the Great Elders, and the Elders appeared as he began constructing the message.
The Vice Commanders were also about to move, but before either of them could complete a single motion, an unforgiving explosion tore through the entire floating island. The next moment, it began to plummet from the sky.
With that, various explosions began erupting throughout the Frontier, echoing in rapid succession.
The Vice Commanders and Damian froze in pure shock, their perceptions of time and everything around them stretching as the world slowed to a crawl within their minds. They didn’t need to ask or say anything to understand that the Velkarin Empire had already infiltrated their Frontier from the very beginning.
Damian vanished from his position, his speed astonishing as he moved at his full capacity. He appeared above the Frontier, his head tilting to the side as he took in everything around him. Everything moved in slow motion within his perception, as time itself had come to a complete halt for him alone.
With a thought, his Astra Energy erupted from his body. His Calculator ability came alive as he immediately divided the explosion, shock wave, blast wave, and everything else against themselves, instantly reducing the damage caused throughout the entire Frontier to a minimum.
Although the explosions had been dealt with, that didn’t mean there were no casualties. The explosions had gone off inside buildings, meaning those within them had either died or suffered injuries of staggering severity.
He moved once more, his speed a blur as he plunged into buildings, prioritizing those at the centres of the explosions. He flashed from one direction to another, with various Soldiers floating inside bubble-shaped spheres of Astra Energy.
His Alternate Versions appeared as they had always been there, merely concealing their presence. They immediately used their Calculator abilities on those who were still alive, multiplying their innate biological regeneration processes to an absurd degree until they all achieved instantaneous regeneration.
Damian hadn’t even thought about Asher. To him, if Lyra couldn’t react in time to something like this, then she deserved to be decapitated.
Damian’s figure appeared inside the building where the Cadets stayed, saving them all once more. His figure streaked towards Asher, but Asher was already out of harm’s way, as Lyra had shielded him with her Astra Energy.
Lyra couldn’t sense Damian, who had moved at a speed she couldn’t follow, as they were four sub-Life Ranks apart. She was at the Dust sub-Life Rank, while he was at the Radiant sub-Life Rank.
And with that, a second finally passed. Within that timeframe, Damian had saved over five million Soldiers and even the Miscellaneous Group, each of them floating in the sky under his control.
Within that same timeframe, Michael Novrak, Vanessa Thorne, and Ryuk Silverleaf hadn’t even finished reacting. Such was the difference between Crownstar Life Rankers and everyone else. They were still moving out of the building when he had already completed all the work alone.
However, this didn’t mean the situation was the same for every Frontier and Outpost that had a Crownstar Life Ranker. One had to remember that Damian had used his ability to reduce the explosions’ destructive force beforehand and then relied on pure speed to complete the rest. Although some Frontiers would be able to achieve the same feat through sheer speed, their Crownstar Commanders would have to be present at the Frontier first.
The next moment, the Vice Commanders appeared in the air, their eyes falling on the Soldiers whom the Commander had saved. They couldn’t help but heave a sigh of relief. However, the moment relief washed over them, the poison took effect.
Soldiers immediately began spitting blood and convulsing. The eleven Damians didn’t hesitate; they sprang into motion once more as the division (÷) and multiplication (×) signs appeared on their foreheads.
They immediately divided the poison, as they didn’t need to think to know it was poison, then multiplied their healing factors to an extraordinary degree while simultaneously erasing the poison from the air and throughout the entire Frontier.
Asher wore a twisted frown on his face as he watched. He was floating within the Astra Energy bubble that Lyra had created.
He couldn’t help but feel guilty. If he had reported this to the Commander and allowed Damian to report it to the other Commanders, this might not have happened. If he hadn’t planted bombs and tried to reduce the burden that the Algorith Frontier Soldiers would have had to bear, perhaps things might have turned out differently.
Maybe... just maybe...
He thought as he stared at the injured and dead Soldiers. Tears couldn’t help but roll down his cheeks before they vanished beneath the intense temperature surrounding him.
But alas, it mattered not. Whether he had reported it or not, whether he had planted the bombs or not, the situation was still going to happen, as the spies would have intercepted the message.
The Sinvairas were simply working overtime in this regard.
As for the Soldiers from the Velkarin Empire, unfortunately, Damian hadn’t bothered with them, and so some of them had been wiped out, although the great majority of them still remained, much to the relief of those who had survived.
