Chapter 1994: Spatial Beast (2)

"I can only hope that we can find more of our old friends at the Dao Origin Land."

Venerable Desolate said, "I believe there are some still hiding there. After reaching the limit of their lifespan, they can only seal themselves since a breakthrough is not possible. However, an intense war is upon us. They won't need to worry about their excessive accumulation of power anymore since they will have plenty of chance to exhaust their power. It is time for them to emerge. The time for hiding is over."

He was certain there were more slumbering experts in the Dao Origin Land.

Venerable Scrape smiled and said, "When we're done moving this mountain, we can go to the Dao Origin Land and begin our sweep. That is an excellent land of cultivation, but its importance will drop drastically once it's confirmed that the Heaven Gate can be used to suppress the daos gained from the Dao Origin Land. Thus, it won't be to big of a loss for us to ruin the Dao Origin Land."

"Perhaps we can even dig out some of the old fellows of the human race this time."

They laughed and continued moving toward the Chaos Mountain. As they moved, more and more people noticed the gigantic mountain floating in the sky. Six Venerables were moving the mountain. Even so, it was moving slowly. For a Venerable, they could reach the far west in only a minute or two.

But with the mountain as the burden, they had to take at least five or six days to make the journey. Furthermore, they had to take turns resting as the mountain was too heavy to be moved in one go.

Inside the cave.

Yu Xi and the others had returned. Suddenly, Yue Hao frowned and said, "Seems like we have done the three major races a big favor."

That caught everyone's attention.

Yue Hao explained, "They are relocating the Human Mountain. The myriad races are being forced to migrate to the Human Mountain. An official alliance has been formed."

Several expressions changed. Someone exclaimed, "Are the myriad races coming together again?"

"Yes."

Yue Hao nodded.

The old woman suggested, "Why don't we take this chance to launch a surprise attack and ruin their plan?"

"No," Yue Hao shook his head and said, "We'll need to leave the Chaos Mountain for that. The myriad races are ready for us. Leaving now is the same as giving up on our own advantage.

"We can still contend against them even without our advantage, but the losses will be too heavy. This will benefit the Torchbearers. They are still hiding in the dark. We can't let them benefit from this."

If there were only two parties involved, they could start the war at any time. But that was not the case. A third party was lurking out there. At the thought of the Torchbearers, they felt greatly irritated.

They would have a lot more flexibility in what to do if it weren't for the damned third party.

Yue Hao sighed before smiling again, "The convergence of the myriad races is both a good thing and a bad thing for us. This makes surprise attacks against them almost impossible, but this will also make it easier for us to monitor everything they are doing."

He added, "As for their decision to sweep through the Upper Realm, it is definitely a good thing for them. All those rats will be forced to emerge. For now, we don't need to do anything. Stay here and let them perform the sweep without any worries."

The sweep would benefit them as well.

Yue Hao said, "It has been over a hundred thousand years since the initial exploration of the Upper Realm. Just how many ancient experts are still hiding in the dark? What about the supposedly extinct ancient races? Are there truly no survivors among them? Some of the more powerful ancient races such as the soul, land spirit, bone, and asura races are supposed to be extinct. But are they really extinct?"

The ancient past was an era with countless powerful races. That was an era where the myriad races fought for dominance. But some of the more powerful ancient races had since vanished. Were they truly extinct? Were there any survivors from these races out there?

Nobody knew.

Perhaps they were still hiding in the Upper Realm, in the Dao Origin Land, and in the various danger zones. Thus, Yue Hao was supportive of the myriad races' decision to perform a sweep through the Upper Realm.

He inhaled deeply and said, "Thus, we wait. Perhaps some new variables will emerge during the sweep. Some missing beings might return. I am quite curious, to be honest. Just how many people have survived by faking their death over the past hundred thousand years?"

The rest nodded.

The mood was rather heavy.

His reasoning was acceptable. It had been a hundred thousand years, and the Upper Realm was filled with danger zones. Even ignoring the myriad race experts that might be hiding there, these danger zones came with their own native life forms as well. Thus, anything could happen during the coming sweep.

While everyone was waiting for the sweep to start.

Su Yu and his group reached the spatial beast territory.

Outside the dao center.

Su Yu could see that the entire spatial beast race was preparing for their coming migration.

They only had three dao centers.

But upon checking with his Heaven Gate, Su Yu noted that there were actually five Daofuses in this race. No, there was also one to the west. Thus, this was a race with at least six Daofuses.

Evidently, the number of dao centers was not an accurate representation of a race's strength. Some Daofuses would not bother to found a dao center. The same spatial beast who had helped Venerable Nether construct a spatial tunnel previously were present in the dao center as well.

May, who was among the group, sent a voice transmission, "Spacebreak Marquis is the current leader of the Upper Realm spatial beasts."

"Spacebreak Marquis is powerful. It is rumored that he is a pseudo king as well. Furthermore, his accomplishments in the dao of space are rumored to be extremely high. Even Venerables will find it hard to kill him."

That was no surprise since someone so good at the dao of space would be very good at escaping.

Su Yu nodded. Previously, he had arrived to the Upper Realm with Hollow, an expert of the spatial beast race. Hollow was not here, but Su Yu knew that he wasn't too far away.

Su Yu sank into hesitation. Should he wait for the spatial beasts to leave before searching for the tunnel or should he see Spacebreak Marquis directly? The spatial beasts of the Lower Realm could not represent the spatial beasts of the Upper Realm.

Just because he was allied to the Lower Realm spatial beasts did not mean that the Upper Realm spatial beasts would be willing to work with him. He would have attempted to recruit Heavenly Fate Marquis long ago otherwise.

Su Yu shut his eyes as he sank into thought. Perhaps searching the place after their departure was the best choice. But he was worried about unexpected variables. How could he be sure that the tunnel he found was safe? And how could be know that it was truly connected to the Chaos Mountain?

The spatial beasts could also rig their spatial tunnels to collapse unless activated by a member of their race. As a race with six Daofuses and someone at the level of a heavenly king, they couldn't be underestimated.

Su Yu looked at Great Zhou King and asked, "What did the spatial beast race do during the previous nine epochs?"

"They were neutral." Great Zhou King said, "Since they are too good at spatial manipulation, both the myriad races and humanity have never been willing to make an enemy out of them. They have always been tricky opponents to have. Since they have been neutral, everyone was happy to leave them alone."

Neutral.

"Should we talk to them now or should we search the place ourselves after their departure?"

The others looked at each other. After some thought, Wan Tiansheng said, "We aren't weak, but we're also not strong enough. If possible, it will naturally be good for us to recruit them. Since the Lower Realm spatial beasts are already allied to us, we can use this as an opening to negotiate an alliance with them."

He preferred a meeting with the spatial beasts.

Great Zhou King said, "I'm only worried that they will turn against us right after the meeting. They can pretend to help before informing the myriad races about us. They can even deliver us straight to either the myriad races or Control King's lineage through their spatial manipulation. That would be disastrous for us."

Wan Tiansheng nodded, "Yes. That is a risk. But will they remain unaware when we try to use their spatial tunnels in their absence? If they have a way of sensing the activation of their tunnels without a way to determine who the users are, they might decide to inform the three major races about it. That would also be very dangerous for us."

He added, "Also, the gates they use for teleportation through these tunnels...are they really fixed? Or are they mobile? Great Zhou King, you're rather proficient in spatial manipulation as well. Is it possible for one to carry these teleportation gates around?"

Great Zhou King sighed and nodded, "Yes. That is possible."

If that was the case, their trip here would be a waste of time.

After giving it a thought, Su Yu sent May a voice transmission, "Contact Great Bamboo Marquis and have him take Hollow to us. The spatial beast is not a race we can't negotiate with. If they do end up betraying us, so be it. After all, our existence is no longer a complete secret. Both the myriad races and Control King's lineage are already aware that there is a third party out there."

May did as told and passed the message to Great Bamboo Marquis.

After a short wait, Su Yu sensed Great Bamboo Marquis' aura appearing in the distance. The marquis left right after arriving, not bothering to stay.

Moments later, Hollow arrived.

Su Yu first met him when he was still acting as First Yellow of the Heavenly Hunt Pavilion. Eventually, he had affirmed his dao in the Luminous Domain Mansion. He had grown recently, but not by much. He felt like a fifth-degree Eternal to Su Yu's senses.

He was originally highly ranked on the Dao Affirmation Ranking, and he was already at the level of a fourth-degree Eternal right after his breakthrough. Thus, his growth had actually been quite low.

The moment Hollow laid eyes on Su Yu's group, his heart jumped in alarm. There were so many of them? In that case, Su Yu must have returned to the Lower Realm to gather more people before coming back up here.

When he looked around, his eyes flickered. He knew this place. This was the spatial beast territory.

"Emperor Yu!"

"Lords."

He greeted everyone with a bow. All of them were super experts. Just being in their presence was suffocating for him. They felt even stronger than the Pseudo Emperor of his race.

Hollow was quite alarmed. Why did he feel like these people had grown massively during their short separation? Was such rapid growth really possible after reaching the Daofuse Realm?

Su Yu gave Hollow a long stare before saying, "Hollow, we have known each other for quite some time. Do you think you can persuade Spacebreak Marquis to side with us? Be honest. There is no need to hide anything."

Hollow frowned. After a while, he shook his head and said, "No. At most, I can only persuade him to remain neutral."

Hollow continued, "But don't worry, Emperor Yu. We might not have a way of persuading Spacebreak Marquis, but the foundation of the spatial beast race is still in the Lower Realm. Unless he wishes to see the extinction of the Lower Realm spatial beasts, he won't act against us even if he's unwilling to help us.

"Our numbers have always been low. There are fewer than five hundred of us up here. Our numbers are slightly higher in the Lower Realm. And our Pseudo Emperor down there is actually closely related to Spacebreak Marquis. He will never turn against us. I'm sure of that."

"Father and son?" That was Su Yu's first guess as that was usually the case when those in the Upper Realm and Lower Realm were said to be close.

"No." Hollow had an odd expression as he continued after a short pause, "Uhm...they're dao partners. Spacebreak Marquis is a female spatial beast. Are you not aware of that, Emperor Yu?"

Su Yu had a flat expression. Was that the case? He had seen Spacebreak Marquis before, and that fellow certainly didn't feel like one. And now, someone was telling him that the marquis was a female?
