Chapter 1995: Spatial Beast (3)

Hollow sounded awkward as he said, "It's not surprising that you don't know. It has always been hard for the gender of many races to be determined when they are in their original form."

He was only being polite to make things less awkward for Su Yu. Naturally, Su Yu had nothing to say about that.

But he couldn't resist asking, "May, Hollow, do all humans look the same for you? Is it easy for you to determine the gender of humans?"

May had an awkward expression, while Hollow answered, "It's easier for us to determine the gender of a human. After all, the various races consider it an honor to take on a humanoid form. The humanoid form is the beloved child of the heavens. The most powerful races, such as divine, devil, immortal, human, and nether races are all humanoid. The primordial giant and fate races are also humanoid in shape."

Hollow continued, "Thus, the humanoid form is very common in the Myriad Realms. A lot of experts have the habit of maintaining that form even when they are among their own people. They maintain the form at all times, even during cultivation. Thus, the myriad races are quite familiar with the humanoid form."

The humanoid form was the gold standard of the myriad races. That was inevitable since that was the form of the strongest races.

After a long contemplation, Su Yu said, "I'm now curious about one thing. Did humans, divines, devils, and immortals come from the same origin?"

That would be hard to answer since it involved ancient history dating back to the primordial past or even the creation era. They already existed as separate races during the primordal past, so one would probably need to go back all the way to the creation era to trace the origin of these races.

However, Su Yu was not too bothered. So what if they had the same origin? There were rumors claiming that the primordial giant race used to be a branch of the human race. The fate and celestial chasm races used to be the same race as well. They had only separated during the ancient past.

Control King's lineage was a branch of humanity as well. So what? When interests clashed, they would not hesitate to fight.

Su Yu did not waste his time dwelling on that matter. He said, "Go and see Spacebreak Marquis. We'll wait here."

Hollow said, "Sure. I have the token of the Pseudo Emperor with me. Just wait here, Emperor Yu. I believe Spacebreak Marquis will be willing to see you as well."

Su Yu nodded.

With that, Hollow vanished into thin air.

Inside the dao center.

Spacebreak Marquis was busy arranging for the coming migration.

Done with that, she sent the Daofuses away before sending waves of power out of her body. At that, a tiny spatial gate appeared behind the throne in the room. Then, she stepped inside. Su Yu would be surprised to see what was behind the gate. The space inside wasn't large, but it was a maze.

A maze filled with gates.

Inside, Spacebreak Marquis assumed a humanoid form. And as Hollow mentioned, the marquis was a woman. She looked around with a tired expression. As she took in the sight of the countless gates in the room, she sighed.

This was a result of their hard work for many years. Each gate led to a different location, and each gate represented an escape path for them. Then again, these were emergency measures. She would much prefer if a situation where they were forced to utilize these gates did not arise.

Now that they were forced to migrate, what should she do with these gates? Should she take them with her? But that would greatly increase the risk of exposure.

Many of the spatial tunnels here were fixed to this place. A large price was required to create one that could be linked to a mobile gate. Thus, only a selected few had received such treatment.

"A hundred thousand years for all this. Massive sacrifices, including the lives of our Daofuses. Are we leaving all this behind?"

She couldn't bring herself to do it. These gates were the foundation of their race. It was true that the spatial beast race had sacrificed greatly for these gates. Before establishing one of these gates, they would need to first explore the intended destination, including the various danger zones these gates were connected to.

The iron devourers had a small number of Daofuses due to the suppression by the three major races. As for the spatial beasts, things were different. They had lost a lot of Daofuses for these gates. That was why they had a similarly small number of Daofuses despite their neutrality.

Shortly after, Spacebreak Marquis' gaze landed on a certain gate. That gate, in particular, was one that had been completed after a massive sacrifice. It led straight to the inner region of the Chaos Mountain.

A pseudo king of the spatial beast race had sneaked all the way into the inner region of the Chaos Mountain multiple times just to complete this gate. Spacebreak Marquis had not informed anyone about this gate, even if the myriad races were on the verge of attacking the Chaos Mountain.

With this gate, the myriad races could probably sneak behind the chaos race before catching them by surprise with a pincer attack.

"The three major races are bastards, and the chaos race isn't any better."

Spacebreak Marquis muttered to herself. In short, none of them were friends. Why should she reveal this trump card to them? This trump card was essentially their path of survival. Why should she reveal their path of survival to their potential future enemies?

She was deep in thought, wondering if she should sneak some of the youngsters in the race away first. However, it would also be dangerous since these youngsters would be without dao protectors. Unfortunately, it would be too conspicuous to send a Daofuse with them. But without Daofuses, they wouldn't be able to survive these danger zones.

"How are things in the Lower Realm?"

Spacebreak Marquis sighed again. She wondered if the old fellow down there had led their race to a bleak future.

"There are the Torchbearers down there. They are too powerful. The old fellow isn't even a peak Daofuse. He's not strong enough. It's too dangerous for him to stand opposite the human race. But standing with them is also extremely dangerous..."

Spacebreak Marquis recalled the massive price they had paid back then to create a tunnel straight to the Lower Realm. They had failed even after losing several Daofuses in the attempt.

If they had a way to freely move between the Lower and Upper Realms, things wouldn't have been so difficult for them. For now, they could only guess what the other was doing.

Suddenly, her expression changed. She withdrew from the maze and released waves of spatial power to fully seal the maze. With a ripple, the maze vanished completely, as though it was never there.

Her eyes cold, she vanished with a flicker.

Spacebreak Marquis appeared and looked at an old human...no, the old man was actually a young spatial beast in her eyes.

Her expression changed slightly as she asked, "From the Lower Realm?"

Hollow bowed, "Hollow of the Lower Realm greets Spacebreak Marquis."

When Spacebreak Marquis noticed the token in Hollow's hand, hr expression changed again. With a wave of her arm, both of them appeared inside the previous hall. No spatial fluctuation was created from the movement.

Her expression changed repeatedly as she stared at Hollow in silence. After a while, she asked, "Did you ally with humanity down there?"

Hollow nodded.

Spacebreak Marquis could already guess it from Hollow's presence. He could only arrive in the Upper Realm by traveling with humanity, and the humans would not take him with them unless he was an ally.

She inhaled deeply to calm herself and asked, "Why stand with the humans? We have always been neutral."

Hollow said, "Humanity produced a new Emperor. The recent incidents were all caused by the new Emperor. He has completed the conquest of the Lower Realm, dominating everything down there. Tiangu and the others are completely helpless. They're as good as dead. They are only spared from triggering an early opening of the connection between the Upper and Lower Realms. All of them are forced to hide inside their realms after sealing these realms."

"New Emperor?" Spacebreak Marquis asked, "Emperor?"

"Yes. Not human lord. An Emperor."

Hollow said, "Prior to my departure, the Pseudo Emperor told me to inform you that you shouldn't make the new Emperor an enemy even if you're unwilling to be an ally. The new Emperor's rise was too rapid. There is no precedent. The Pseudo Emperor said that it was as though he was looking at the second Human Emperor."

Spacebreak Marquis gasped, "Did the old fellow really say all that?"

"Yes."

After a short silence, Spacebreak Marquis asked, "Are you here on behalf of the new Emperor?"

"Yes. He wishes to see you."

"For our teleportation gates?"

Spacebreak Marquis recalled something and her expression changed. The myriad races had just decided to perform the sweep yet the new Emperor had learned of it immediately. Furthermore, he had came straight to them right after that. He was clearly here for their teleportation gates.

Who told him about these gates? Who told him about the coming sweep?

Hollow said nothing.

Spacebreak Marquis asked, "Apart from our race, which races are allied to him in the Lower Realm?"

"Fate, hou, and iron devourer races."

"Fate race?" The look in Spacebreak Marquis' eyes changed. "Fateless joined him?"

"Yes."

Spacebreak Marquis couldn't keep her calm anymore. "The fate race is incredibly cunning. And even the fate race is with him?"

After a while, she asked, "Where is he?"

"Just outside the dao center."

Spacebreak Marquis' expression changed again. She said, "Tell me everything you know. I need to make my judgment."

"Yes."

Hollow switched to voice transmission and informed Spacebreak Marquis of everything he knew.

As Spacebreak Marquis listened, her expression continued to change repeatedly.

A young Emperor.

After achieving domination down there, he had entered Upper Realm before throwing the Upper Realm into chaos. Even the Death Realm was already his. After the ancient past, humanity had reached the top yet again.

After taking some time to digest all that information, she said heavily, "I'll see him."

She looked at Hollow and added, "You'll come with me."

"Yes!"

With a flicker, the two vanished. Shortly after, she appeared before Su Yu with Hollow in tow. Right after she laid eyes on Su Yu's group, she tightened her grip on Hollow's neck. Should she just crush this bastard then and there?

Fuck!

Wasn't there supposed to be only one pseudo king in the group? Was that idiot blind or something? One? How was this one? She could already spot several of them with a simple glance. She really felt like crushing Hollow's neck for the misinformation.

That idiot must be blind. One? One his ass! Damn it! That was not all. There were also multiple peak Daofuses in this group. Such a group was powerful enough to wipe out the spatial beast race through a surprise attack as well!

Spacebreak Marquis' heart pounded nervously. Initially, she had thought that since there was only one pseudo king in the group, she wouldn't lose even if she couldn't win if a fight were to break out. But no, she was gravely mistaken.

As she raged inwardly, her grip on Hollow's neck tightened so much Hollow was rolling his eyes. Inwardly, he was greatly confused. What was going on?
