Chapter 2276: Experiment 2.0 Dangerous Experimentation

Tang Shaoyang kept sending more Demonic Calamity to Arnain. He started to send out more spirits to bring him the captured calamity. He was interested in the experiment, but he was too lazy to retrieve them by himself. He asked his spirit and the Skelly Family to bring it back to him.

There was one thing he noticed about the Demonic Calamity. If he didn’t name them, they didn’t appear in the leaderboard. The five-winged serpent didn’t appear in the leaderboard. The same went for the other Rank 10 Calamity, who left without asking for a name.

That was right, none of the Demonic Calamity asked for a name or wanted to form the Companion Bond with him. It seemed Envy and Sloth were a unique case. He didn’t insist on forming the Companion Bond even though he wanted to finish the Seven Deadly Sins.

Rank 10 Calamity was sent to him one after another, doing his experiment with the unique energy as well. He found the difference between using Chaos Energy and his unique energy from his Dantian.

His unique energy would transform the calamity back to its original appearance. The six-legged fox transformed back to four-legged, their tails returned to their long and fluffy, and the three eyes returned to normal, two eyes.

He used the unique energy on the eight-handed Ape. The ape’s hands returned to their original two eyes, regained their brown-red fur color from black, and the defective tails disappeared.

Another thing to note was the unique energy granted to the dragon’s characteristics in their transformation. The ape’s hand was covered in red-gold scales. That made the hand extremely tough. Its size almost doubled, reaching forty meters tall.

It also gained a similar horn to Wise’s horn, and it gained Elemental Fire Power. Each time the ape punched with its fist, a gold flame would burst out from the fist. It could also breathe out the golden fire.

One of his spirits found another similar ape, another eight-handed ape, but this time its tail was more complete. It had the tail of a scorpion, and the pointy tail kept releasing ominous-looking black gas.

He used Chaos Energy on this calamity for the experiment. His guess was right that the Chaos Energy directed the transformation into a more chaotic way, making the creature more deformed.

The first transformation was that the black blade grew up between the knuckles. Two more scorpion tails grew, making it even longer and more flexible instead of stiff. A black carapace grew on its chest and back down on its legs.

Gray hair grew, reaching down to the waist. As for its height, it didn’t grow as big as the one with unique energy. It just grew eight meters taller as it was now twenty-eight meters tall.

Tang Shaoyang asked Envy which one was stronger, and she replied that the one with Chaos Energy was slightly stronger. As Vandir said, he could not draw a conclusion that his unique energy made the end product stronger just from one experiment. This ape proved that the Chaos Energy could make the transformation stronger.

The experiment truly took his time, but most of the time was spent gathering the Rank 10 and a few Rank 11 Calamity. It was surprising that they only managed to find four Rank 11 Calamity after a full day.

Considering their group was the first group to step into Wintermont. The number of rank 11 Calamity was less than he thought.

It took at least seven spirits to capture them alive. That was why he had summoned all spirits out to quicken the gathering part. The actual experiment didn’t really take that much time.

Vandir, who wanted to try out Undead Tang Shaoyang, decided to stay behind. The Death King was more invested in the experiment than Tang Shaoyang.

At some point, he said something interesting, "What if you use Demonification or Calamitification on my Undead? They will become stronger or gain a new trait. But here is the interesting question. Will they still be my undead or yours?"

Vandir truly made an interesting point there. The skeleton could come up with such an idea that Tang Shaoyang could not come up with.

"Here is what is more interesting. Technically, my undead is also a spirit, an extension of my power. Will the undead become a spirit under your contract, or would they be materialized into the real world?"

The skeleton turned toward his Master, "Do you want to try it on Tang Shaoyang Undead? Isn’t it interesting that you will be able to control your undead body? Maybe the Demonification would allow your undead to gain awareness... This is more interesting than I thought. Do you want to try?"

The eagerness in his voice was obvious, and he was getting closer and closer to Tang Shaoyang. Their bodies almost touching, Vandir’s face got closer to Tang Shaoyang. However, Avyn and Zara shoved him away.

"Get away, you creep. I can accept another beauty, but I can’t accept a skeleton!" That came from Avyn, an unexpected joke from her.

Vandir shrugged, "So do you want to try?"

"Nope. I don’t want to try if it’s another me. If it truly materializes into a real world as a real undead, I would destroy that undead. I am not going to let another me roam around."

Tang Shaoyang was interested, but he didn’t want to try it with his own undead.

"We can try with this one then."

Vandir summoned a death knight. It was a full-armored knight with a shield and a sword, a common-looking knight. It was two and a half meters tall. Its armor, sword, and shield were black, as if they were made of black gas, and it kept releasing a dark aura.

"It’s a Death Knight, one of my strongest knights, and his name is Rayal Saint Claire. He is truly one of a kind, one of a few that managed to learn Death."

It was motionless, but Tang Shaoyang was not sure if it was mindless. Vandir mentioned that his undead didn’t have awareness, as he mentioned that the undead might awaken awareness.

Even without awareness, the undead maintained the battle instinct. They could fight on their own, performing high-level battles without detailed instruction from Vandir.

"We can try while waiting for the next calamity," Tang Shaoyang walked around the death knight.

Zara was curious as well since she had mastered Death as well.

The Death Knight remained motionless, and after a while, Tang Shaoyang turned toward Vandir, "So which one should we try first? The Demonification or Calamitification? Which transformation do you want?"

The chance the Death Knight would remain under Vandir’s control was higher than Tang Shaoyang’s chance. That was why he asked Vandir.

"Let’s try Demonification first. We can try Calamitification later."

"Ah, try to use Chaos Energy instead of your unique energy. I don’t think your unique energy is compatible with Death. I am afraid there might be complications if you use your unique energy on a Death Knight."

Tang Shaoyang agreed with the assessment and activated the skill, using his Chaos Energy. Something was different about this Demonification.

He poured the Chaos Energy into the target in the previous Demonification. But it was different this time. Once his Chaos Energy entered the Death Knight’s system, his Chaos Energy was sucked out of him.

That was not under his control, something, or maybe the Death Knight himself that absorbed the Chaos Energy. His energy pool was too high, and the absorption rate was not that alarming. He let it be as he updated the situation.

"It seems your Death Knight is absorbing my energy on his own."

"I can see that..." Vandir responded in a low voice, looking closer at his own Death Knight.

There was no transformation or even a subtle change, yet it still absorbed more Chaos Energy. It sucked more Chaos Energy than all previous Demonification.

The first change happened after three minutes. A pair of horns grew on the helmet. That was right, it was more like the extension of the helmet, and its color was deep red. There was a singular vein in the horn, and it glowed.

The next was the shield, as messy roots or maybe horns grew at the edge of the shield. The same with the horns, there were veins, a lot of the time, glowing inside the vein.

Then an emblem started to form on the shield. It was drawn live, and Tang Shaoyang was surprised by the end of the drawing. It was the emblem of the Tang Empire. The nine-headed dragon, drawn in dark-gold carving. The crimson eyes glowed, making it look alive.

The next change was a cape, more of an additional outfit. A black, worn cape formed on the Death Knight’s shoulder and down, reaching the Death Knight’s thigh. The end of the cape was frayed and kept releasing a similar dark, sinister aura. Another surprise was that the Tang Empire’s emblem was drawn on the cape, similar to the one on the shield. The eyes glowed in crimson, too.

The following change was the sword, as red veins grew up from the handle, spreading out to the blade till the tip of the sword. The vein glowed in deep red as well.

Swoosh!

In the next moment, a wing burst out from beneath the cape. The wing didn’t tear the cape as it fluttered upward, revealing the dragon wing that was similar to Tang Shaoyang’s Dragon Transformation. The white hair started to grow, coming from the gap between the helmet and the plate armor, growing down and reaching the Death Knight’s back.

In the next moment, the Death Knight released a terrifying aura that shocked Tang Shaoyang, Zara, Avyn, and Vandir. That was when the Death Knight drew his sword and swung backward, swinging his sword toward Vandir’s neck.
