Chapter 5601: You Must Remember! II

This chapter is updated by JustRead.pl

His eyes opened wide as something cold moved through his memory, because he felt like he was having deja vu! A white pool!

Was this... the actual pool that Ulf had painted and not the one he saw prior?!

He wondered, and the pool answered by filling!

Within the ring of spinning singularities, liquid white rose and began to swirl, and Noah’s senses read its substance and went sharp, because it swirled with immense concentrations of THE Argent Loom, braided through with Infinity and THE Primordial Source, and threading through all three, faint and unmistakable... a glimmer of his own Provenance Essence!

Noah’s gaze was heavy on it.

Would the pool be empty? Would it lead to some place? Just what...

HUUM!

As he was thinking, his entire existence buzzed, and the pool before him went CHAOTIC!

The white surface erupted into thrashing, churning violence, a heavy storm raging inside a circle ten steps across, waves of loomlight and Infinity crashing against the ring of spinning phantoms, and then, out of the chaos, in a moment that stretched itself slow before his eyes...

A hand erupted from the pool.

A fair, slender hand, fingers spread, reaching up out of the thrashing white, and it was not rising! It thrashed with the storm, clawing at the air, and the body beneath it was not coming up, could not come up, would not come up... unless Noah reached in to help them up!

What the hell was this?

Noah stood somber and astonished at the pool’s edge, watching the slender hand grasp at nothing, and he could feel it, distinctly, through no sense he could name: the hand was panicked. It was scared. Whoever was underneath was drowning in that white storm, and the hand was the only thing they had managed to send up to ask for help!

He thought of the capability of the Aurate Collar. The emergence of something purest to the wellbeing of his existence. He thought it in the span of one breath, with the hand already beginning to sink.

And after that brief hesitation... Noah kneeled down...and reached in.

His hand plunged into the thrashing white and grasped the slender fingers in the last second before they drowned and disappeared under the depths, and he pulled!

HUUUM!

And... it was so HEAVY!

Heavier than an Observable Existence! Heavier than a few of them together! Heavier than even the stone he had carried on his shoulders in the obsidian domain, before he had ever worn the Aurate Collar, and his arm screamed and his feet drove into the grass and the whole Realm groaned around the effort!

Noah bellowed grandly into the storm!

All ten singularities of Provenance Essence blazed alight upon his chest as blue brilliance covered everything, the hills, the pool, the sky, the whole evening drowned in incandescent light, and with everything he was, he YANKED the hand up out of the white pool as...

BOOM!

The white pool fissured! Cracks tore across its surface and out through the surrounding existence, the grass splitting, the air itself webbing with thin bright fractures, and Noah staggered back with his prize, still feeling like he had pulled something far, far too heavy for any measure he owned, and he set it down upon the grass to see...

...!

Something that caused his eyes to open wide as all of existence seemed to pause.

Now, Noah was experienced. He had seen many things. He had stood before queens and Primevals and the manifest wrath of ancient authorities. But what he saw now was utterly incomprehensible to him, because before him, on the grass of his Realm, was... a woman.

Okay, a woman, so it wasn’t that incomprehensible but...

If somewhere in the depths of his psyche there lived a fantasy of a woman, held quietly since puberty and never once spoken of, then what he saw before him exceeded even that.

And she was shaking. And she was injured. And she was utterly breathtaking.

She had red hair, loose and soaked and clinging to her face and shoulders. Freckles were scattered light across her nose and cheeks, small and human and utterly at odds with the immensity coming off her frame.

Her features were beautiful as existence itself glowed aroujd her, a soft jaw, a small nose, pale red lips pressed thin against pain, and she wore a robe of white and blue, simple and flowing.

And the robe was filled with blood.

Crimson gold blood.

It soaked through the white cloth across her chest and side, and her hand clasped over her chest as she heaved on the grass, and her face was full of fear and alarm, the face of someone still drowning even on dry land!

Then she raised her head, and looked at him.

And Noah watched the fear fade out of her face! Even through the tremendous pain, her eyes flooded with immense relief, relief so total it looked close to breaking her, and she began to speak even as blood spattered out of her mouth with the words!

"You’re alive... you’re still alive! We have to...!"

BOOM!

What?

She had begun to walk toward him, pushing up off the grass, and Noah took a step back!

Because this injured lifeform, this bleeding, shaking woman... every single step she took caused the ground of his Realm to CAVE and shudder! The grass split under her bare feet, the hills groaned, and he could feel his Provenance Realm barely holding itself together around her presense, a homestead straining to carry something it was never sized for!

She saw him take the step back.

And the relief on her face died. Horror and fear covered it again, and her voice came out absentminded and cracking, half to him and half to no one at all.

"You... don’t remember me? You don’t remember...!" Her eyes went wide and distant.

"He must have already begun. Listen closely! THE Sealed One he has grasped IT! In the future...he got IT! Nobody thought... nobody expected... ah!"

Blood ran freely from her lips as her words tumbled over each other.

"He has begun to target us. To target YOU. He will target all those who stood against him, across Dimensions and Time, as even your past Origins are not safe! Those around you are not safe! THE Infiniverse is not safe! Mother is not safe! I..."

Her hand reached toward him, shaking. "You must remember! You promised to always remember! You-...!"

She spat out waves of crimson gold blood, and her hand flew to her chest and clutched it tightly...

And she collapsed in front of Noah, and actually passed out, sprawled across the trembling grass of his Realm!

...!

Her words rang through him, every one of them filled with terrifying meanings- the future, the past, the targeting, IT, Origins, Mother, a promise he had never made or could not remember making!

But worst of all was the little he could identify of the woman herself, lying bleeding before him, as his senses reached for her and returned almost nothing at all!

|??????|:: A Provenance Lifeform... ???????
