Chapter 3713: Test And Trap

This chapter is updated by JustRead.pl

The darkness of the night sky seemed to come alive as the air grew electric with peril. The atmosphere crackled with palpable tension as Matriarch Nephi’s body struck the surface of the ocean, and blood splattered from her gaping wound at an alarming rate, mixing with the dark seawater.

Her eyes began losing their light as her breathing halted.

The flicker of life within her body began dimming at an alarming rate.

Sage Zeamer’s eyes flared with a flood of alarm and desperation as he shed his mirthful demeanor for perhaps the first time in his life as he beheld his beloved on the verge of death.

He knew he didn’t have time.

He activated a silent hypnotic technique, trying to capture his former student’s mind while he was distracted, while trying to swipe Nephi away and feed her a healing potion.

"Don’t even think about it."

Chills crawled across Sage Zeamer’s skin at those icy words.

The Abyssal Mirror turned towards the fallen body of Matriarch Nephi as he inhaled deeply, manipulating the very fabric of heaven and earth with the force of his breath.

The MECHA contained a pascalian atmospheric engine that leveraged the principles of Pascal and pressure to massively augment his breathing to a great extent.

RUMBLE!!!!!

The world shook with the sheer force of his breath as his MECHA itself manipulated the entirety of the heavens across the battlefield and beyond.

"Breath of Destruction." A whisper escaped Ieyasu.

One moment, Matriarch Nephi’s body remained unmoving as she bled out on the ground. The very next moment, a powerful grinding wind descended upon her defenseless self.

Sage Zeamer’s eyes widened as he tried to hypnotize Ieyasu in time.

And yet, it was of no use.

His technique fell flat as Ieyasu’s attack struck the old Silas Matriarch.

"NO!" Sage Zeamer roared.

SPLAT SPLAT SPLAT!!!

His eyes widened as the powerful heavenly technique eroded away her body, reducing it to a bloody mist that spread far and wide. The gruesome attack disintegrated Matriarch Nephi on a cellular level, inflicting upon her an intense amount of destruction.

Skin melted as flesh was reduced to organic, bloody splatters.

Bone was ground to a fine powder.

Heavenly techniques were generally not known to be extremely potent due to the nature of wind, air, and gas, but Ieyasu managed to turn the heavens into a weapon that could grind anything short of invintium itself.

BOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!

Matriarch Nephi’s body ceased to exist as Ieyasu thoroughly destroyed it to the maximal extent he could in a short period of time.

One moment, she was alive and well.

THUD

Sage Zeamer collapsed to his knees with his expression crumpling with horror. "You..."

The Abyssal Mirror turned towards Sage Zeamer for a moment. "Your Martial Art has grown more powerful; it has been a helpful addition to mine. I will let you live to cultivate it even more so that I can absorb even more power from you in the future."

The older Martial Sage gritted his teeth. "Why... why did you kill her? Couldn’t you have let her live, too? You were always a madman, but you were never a monster."

A solemn silence hung in the air for a moment.

RUMBLE...

The dark waters of the ocean remained volatile, quaking under the weight of the war that spanned many kilometers in diameter, while chill winds danced fearfully.

"Why, you ask?" A faint whisper escaped Tokugawa Ieyasu. "The answer to that is simple."

His dark cybernetic eyes sharpened.

"It’s a test."

Sage Zeamer’s eyes widened.

"A test..." Ieyasu’s eyes darkened. "And a trap."

The older Martial Sage did not know what to make of those words.

They exceeded his understanding. He couldn’t even begin to parse what Ieyasu even meant by that. He just stared at the Abyssal Mirror in horror, as if he was staring a grotesque, unsightly monster in the eye.

The Abyssal Mirror turned away from the fallen Martial Sage, before its energy systems flared, mustering tremendous amounts of energy as the very fabric of space and time began to warp underneath the tremendous power that Ieyasu mobilized with his MECHA.

RUMBLE!!!

His body unleashed all the material prima it could while the zero-point energy reactor within his MECHA absorbed the boundless energy within the vacuum itself and greatly amplified the energy that emerged from him, allowing him to reach extraordinary heights with that energy as a Martial Sage.

Within the depths of the MECHA, a small amount of negatron matter cleaved apart the very fabric of space and time as a spontaneous wormhole emerged, sucking the MECHA in.

WHOOSH

Just like that, the Abyssal Mirror was gone.

WHOOSH

Tokugawa Ieyasu’s eyes sharpened as his field of vision changed from a volatile ocean drowned in the darkness of the night sky to the stretch of a barren land with a twilight sky and a setting sun.

And a titanic giant as large as celestial bodies.

RUMBLE!!!!!!

The world around them rocked underneath the weight of the Suneater, who unleashed his power against opponents so small that they were invisible relative to the tremendous power that they possessed.

"Rgh!" Amare gritted her teeth as she rushed the giant with all the power she had.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!

The tremendous impact, one that very few Martial Sages would have been able to even survive, barely felt like a shove to the titanic creature.

"You have done well to hold on as long as you have."

The powerful voice of the Suneater boomed in her ears.

"But you are not my equal."

RUMBLE!!!!!

She gritted her teeth as her amber eyes flared with determination.

Her body was bruised and checkered with wounds.

The Transcendent healing fruit had worn out, causing the stalemate that had previously stagnated in the battle to collapse. Despite her speed and despite teleportation, she wasn’t able to protect herself from tremendous damage, barely able to keep the Suneater from making forward progress.

And yet, she never once gave up, dedicating everything towards holding back the most destructive pathwalker in the entire world. That was why she missed Tokugawa Ieyasu charging towards her with a powerful attack.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!
