Chapter 1028: Archery Game Rules

Asher sighed, the moment the maid left, he took off his headset, tossed it onto the bed, and collapsed into his wheeled office chair. He looked around his room. It was covered in various nylons from different bags of chips that he had bought in huge quantities. After all, chips hardly existed within the Zarethorne Empire. There was no way he would see such things at the Thalvorn Empire and simply leave them behind.

Rising from his seat, he used Astra energy to gather every single coin on the ground, then headed to the bathroom for a morning bath. With that done, he put on some clothes and stepped out to meet up with Wuthenya and the others.

The moment Asher turned and left, the maid who had arrived earlier returned and began to clean up Asher’s room.

Asher walked down the hallway, turning a few corners before he arrived at the back of the building, somewhere people hardly visited... well, only the trainees at the Wargrave Training Grounds visited here for their Monster Subjugation lessons.

Hearing Asher’s footsteps, the other Suns and Moons turned towards him as one of them spoke.

"You are finally here, took you long enough," Xavian stated with a flat expression.

"Good morning to you too," Asher replied as he came to a stop before the forest.

Xavienne, who was standing beside her twin, interjected, "It’s afternoon already."

Asher didn’t reply. His eyes simply shifted to the side as he saw various racks holding various collections of bows and arrows, all neatly packed within their quivers.

"I didn’t know we were doing this anytime soon," Asher spoke, his purple eyes still on the rack.

Wuthenya, who was simply staring into the distance, spoke, "Same, but since Malrik returned today and we all had nothing to do, I decided to just call everyone out," her tone calm.

Asher turned and looked around as though searching for someone, but couldn’t find anyone. "And where is Elder Broth—"

Before he could finish his question, Malrik appeared in a blur as though he had directly teleported.

"So, a sibling hangout? I’m in," Malrik spoke the moment he arrived. He wouldn’t miss a chance to spend time with his siblings, even if it was just for a couple of minutes.

Everyone shook their heads as they had no plans of letting Malrik join them.

As Wuthenya was about to explain this, another series of footsteps sounded. Everyone’s eyes turned towards the direction of the sound, and from that direction, a woman in Knight armour with a bow on her back could be seen walking towards them.

Arriving, she bowed ever so slowly as she spoke, "I greet the Suns and Moons," her tone calm. "My name is Celina. I was told to come here by the Knight Commander."

Wuthenya had been the one who met Yveric, telling him to send any Crownstar Life Ranker who used a bow and arrow, and he had sent Celina.

Malrik and Celina didn’t exactly know what was going on, but they could guess. However, they didn’t have to guess much, as Wuthenya simply explained their idea and the game they were about to play.

Malrik couldn’t help but roll his eyes at Wuthenya’s words when he was told to officiate the game with Celina. But alas, he understood, for someone to move beyond his base perception, they needed to be a Great Elder or Azaron himself.

"I understand, Second Young Miss," Celina spoke, her tone respectful as she didn’t smile or really show much emotion.

Malrik, who had been silent, turned towards Celina and spoke, "How about we do it like this," his tone suggestive. "We create two types of circular flying objects. One is real, while the other is an illusion. If you shoot down an illusion object, you lose three points," he explained.

"And also, each flying object would be divided into three colours: red, orange, and green, each of them being progressively faster than your base perception, with green having the feature of dodging and attacking, while orange has the feature of only dodging arrows, with red having none," he explained, taking inspiration from the traffic lights he saw at the Thalvorn Empire.

Celina nodded as she liked the idea. She also added her own opinion, "Red would cost 2 points, orange would cost 4 points, and green would cost 8 points," she stated. "But not only that, each flying object would have the first starting letter of each Sun and Moon’s name on their own specific flying object. That way, you can know your own flying object," she added.

Her eyes shifted to Asher, Apollo, Xavian, and Xavienne. They were the only ones who shared the same starting letters.

"The Fifth Young Master will be A1, and the Tenth Young Master would be A2," she stated.

Asher and Apollo simply nodded. The moment they did, their eyes turned towards Xavian and Xavienne. Not only them, but everyone else too, as they knew there was no way either of them would settle for X2, and both of them would want to be X1.

It was a childish thing, especially for people who were twenty eight years old, but twins also bickered over such little details no matter what planet they were born on.

"You both will have the letter X on your flying objects, but Xavian’s X will be coloured black, and Xavienne’s X will be coloured white," Malrik stated with a smile on his face.

Everyone simply shook their heads and said nothing, but smiles could be seen on their faces.

"Is there anyone who doesn’t understand the rules?" Celina asked as she stared at the Suns and Moons.

They all shook their heads as they understood everything. It was simple.

"Good," Malrik spoke. "The timer would be fifteen minutes. Once the arrows in your quiver finish, the game’s over for you, so better make each shot count," he explained. "And also, you gain no points for shooting at another person’s flying object." He paused for a moment, then added, "And I also don’t need to explain that you won’t be allowed to use any abilities, Astra energy, or anything of the sort."

Everyone simply nodded as they already knew it. If they did use their abilities, then the game would be less interesting.

"You may pick your weapons," Celina stated.

As they turned and walked to the rack, Ezekiel spoke, "This would be fun... and clumsy at the same time," he mused as he could already imagine himself finishing his arrows, shooting rubbish before he could even gain any points.

Asher picked a random bow and strapped a quiver to his back.

’A hundred arrows, so a hundred circular flying objects at minimum then,’ he thought to himself.

He couldn’t help but wonder if he should turn off his Omni Perception and also ask the system to turn off its illusion perception function for the next twenty minutes. After a few seconds of thought, he simply gave the system the instructions.

He would rely on his natural senses like everybody else.

Malrik’s head turned towards Celina as he spoke, "I will handle the illusions, and since there are a hundred flying objects, fifty illusions should suffice. Some illusions would be clumsy and easy to identify, while others would be no different from the real deal," his blue eyes meeting her black ones.

"Seems perfect that way," Celina replied as she nodded.
