Of course, when Zolthemire found out, he wouldn’t dare take credit for what Azaron had done. Instead, he would announce to the entire Zarethorne Empire that Azaron was responsible. After all, this way, the entire Zarethorne Empire and its citizens would at least rest easy knowing that the empire was taking revenge on their behalf, despite it being a single man acting out of anger.
"So, go home and wait for the news. Look forward to it."
He stated once more.
The Soldiers remained silent for a moment, each of them murmuring as agreements settled in the air. Not that they had much choice if the Commander decided to teleport them away by force anyway.
Azaron’s eyes shifted towards Morthern and Zarek. Both of them simply nodded their heads as they understood the signal. Morthern didn’t know where these Soldiers lived, as he didn’t know any of them personally. However, Zarek knew everything, as a perfect butler should, with such basic information already stored in his memory.
As Morthern used the Planetary Map, Zarek pointed out the places where the Soldiers lived. Morthern then used Mass Teleportation to teleport each of them to their doorsteps, demonstrating just how ridiculous his Fictional Reality remained.
As the Soldiers vanished one after another, Morthern and Zarek walked forward with calm strides. Upon approaching Azaron, Morthern couldn’t help but ask.
"What did you do this time, Azaron? You were gone for too long. I thought you would spend only a couple of minutes with Emperor Horace, but you spent a few hours instead."
Azaron sighed as he explained.
"I was confronted by Azazel. That was the reason I spent too much time over there. Otherwise, I would have been back in a couple of minutes."
Morthern remained silent for a moment before asking.
"Did you win this time?"
To him, it was an important question. How could the Wargraves be fighting to a draw not once, but twice, against the same person?
"Guess," Azaron stated, as he wanted to hear Morthern’s guess.
Morthern remained silent for a moment before speaking.
"Congratulations are in order, then."
A small smile touched his lips, as he was happy that his nephew had won. The next time he saw Azazel, he would make fun of the boy. He could already think of several ways to tease that buff guy.
Zarek didn’t speak. He stood behind them like the butler he was, refraining from interrupting the discussion between Azaron and his uncle and merely listening to their words.
"Give me a general rundown of what you did to the Velkarin Empire."
Morthern requested as he and Azaron began walking across the shattered land as though a massive war wasn’t taking place.
Azaron provided every single detail, as there was simply no reason to hide anything. As the man spoke, Morthern couldn’t help but nod his head at the way Azaron had handled things.
He wasn’t shocked; he was simply satisfied with the outcome. His nephew’s response to matters like this remained one of the reasons he liked him so much.
Behind them, Zarek could only sigh internally. Although he had expected Azaron to go on a rampage, he hadn’t expected the man to annihilate half of the Velkarin Empire.
"Anyway, let’s end this useless war and return home. Another volume of my favourite manga has been released."
Morthern stated, completely uncaring about the ongoing war. As he was over three hundred years old, he had witnessed numerous wars and had practically grown indifferent to them, provided neither he nor his family members were affected.
Azaron nodded in agreement, as that had been his plan all along. Having wiped out half of the Velkarin Empire, he intended to single-handedly stop the war, as there was simply no point in allowing it to continue.
The next moment, their steps halted as they felt something. Their heads snapped in that direction, where a pillar of pure Astra Energy poured down from the sky, descending upon Morgana in waves that surpassed anything people like Azaron or Morthern had ever experienced.
"Don’t tell me..."
Azaron’s spoke as his eyes widened in pure shock and surprise.
"Sister has succeeded."
Morthern completed his words without missing a beat.
The moment he finished speaking, he vanished from where he stood, his figure shooting towards Morgana’s location. Zarek struggled to follow the two ridiculous men from behind, as they were simply too fast.
Upon arriving at Morgana’s battlefield, Morthern and Azaron didn’t hesitate. The first thing they did was attack the two Crownstar Life Rankers who had been bullying Morgana until that moment.
Azaron and Morthern stood at a level that people like Damian and Morgana couldn’t reach... at least in the past. Hence, a single attack from each of the two men reduced the opponents Morgana had been struggling against to cinders.
Morthern stared silently at the incandescent pillar of light as he spoke with a smile on his face.
"After two whole centuries... she has finally succeeded."
Azaron didn’t speak. He simply stared ahead.
At that moment, Morgana was undergoing an Ability Evolution. Throughout recorded Wargrave history, Morgana Wargrave, the Second Great Elder, was the first Wargrave to achieve this feat.
Although it might have appeared to be a random pillar of Astra Energy, both Azaron and Morthern knew it was not. This was the purest form of Astra Energy, one unleashed by Crymora herself.
As a Great Elder and the Primarch, both Azaron and Morthern had access to records within the family archives, where a book explained the process of Ability Evolution, as witnessed by a Primarch from the past.
An Emperor from the Olden Times had also evolved his ability.
After a moment, the pillar of light began to dim ever so slowly, and after a while, it vanished. Morgana remained floating in the air, her back facing the ground and her face turned towards the sky, as a golden light shone over her as though the Heavens themselves were blessing her evolution.
The next moment, the golden light illuminating her vanished, and the power keeping her body suspended suddenly disappeared, causing her to plummet from the sky.
Neither Azaron nor Morthern made a move to catch her. They simply watched.
Just as she was about to crash into the ground, Morgana’s consciousness returned. Her eyes snapped open as she froze in place mid-fall. She then levitated upright and landed on the ground with perfect poise.
She stood motionless for a moment as various pieces of information flooded her mind. The next moment, her presence flickered briefly, but she instinctively suppressed it while simultaneously processing the information in her mind.
After a moment, she seemed to return to her usual self. She raised her hands and gazed at her palms in pure wonder.
She felt different. She felt heavenly. She felt... free.
Her Astra Energy reserves had increased tenfold, which was a staggering improvement. Her body now possessed a ridiculous amount of strength, and everything seemed slower within her baseline perception, while her thoughts moved faster. Everything related to her physical body had been heightened to an entirely new level.
"My Cloud Affinity has evolved into... Heavenly Firmament Manipulation."
She murmured under her breath, her eyes remaining her palms.
